*EDIT* The price of the curriculum sets actually vary!!! So the Kindergarten curriculum set is $123.50 and Level 1 is $146.80.
I'm actually glad we need to buy manipulatives separately. This makes it cheaper to buy and we can chose what manipulatives we want.
Yup, totally agree! Buying them/making them separately worked out great for us!
Hello & thank you so so so much! Your thorough review really helped me. I've been having a hard time deciding between Singapore Dimensions and The Good and the Beautiful Math. I have selected TGATB for Language Arts, but was super drawn to Simgapore Dimensions because it looks like it really helps a child to master mathmatics and get a strong understanding of such. I am now certain of choosing Singapore Dimensions!❤
Oh that’s wonderful to hear! I’m glad you feel confident about your choice. It has been a great success over here! I wish you all the best with your homeschooling 😊👍.
I really liked using dimensions 1a+b this year. We’ll definitely be doing K and 2 next year. I will say that the level 1 chapters on measurement and shapes were not my favorite. But I’m so glad we pushed through and stuck with it because as a whole it’s a great math program.
I agree those chapters were a little funky for us too! Like you said, it really is a great program, and I'm glad we're sticking with it too!
We use the new 2022 version and we love it!! It’s very similar to this but just updated and condensed!
That's awesome!! Did you purchase the whole homeschool set?
@@mama-yael I did not I also did a lot of research and didn’t feel like I needed the teachers guild. (I have level 1 and 3) I just bought the workbook and it’s super cheep that way and I get to enjoy great curriculum!
@@Olgaleigh Fantastic! 😊💕👍
Hi, do you know what the major difference (s) might be between the teacher's guide vs. The home user's guide? I am familiar with the teacher's guide but not the latter. TY
Hi Karla! Unfortunately I do not :/. However, I imagine that instead of having suggested activities and guidance geared toward classroom learning, a homeschool guide would be focused on the individual activities and guidance specific to the home learning setting. I would definitely give the company a call about that! I've called them before with questions and they have great customer service!
Looks like a great math program!!
Thank you girl 😊! You’re unboxing video was wwooonderful btw!!
do you need to use manipulatives for this curriculum? Ive tried doing the manipulatives route before, i just rather not. My son learns just fine with worksheets. is using manipulatives an important part of the lessons or is it easy to just not do it? is the textbook enough for teaching the lesson? or is it ok to skip some of the manipulative portions of the lessons and some do if I happen to have it handy?
Hi Cathy! Manipulatives are totally optional, definitely not required! And yes, I would say the textbook is enough for teaching the lesson. Looking back, I probably would have used the textbook and then found some accompanying worksheets from TPT to supplement had I not had the workbook too. Which level are you looking into?
@@mama-yael We decided on primary mathematics us edition 1A-B for my 5 year old and the 2022 version 3A for my soon to be 8 year old.
Wonderful! How’s it working out so far?
@@mama-yael we havent started yet. we are waiting to finish this school year.
@@trainupachildhomeschooling6493 Makes sense! I hope all goes well!
Can you share where you got your manipulatives?
Hi! I've gotten most of my manipulatives from Amazon, and others I have DIY'd. I may have some links in the description if you'd like to purchase some! Let me know if there's something specific you're interested in.😊👍
Is the textbook needed? Is the workbook work the same that is in the textbook?
Hi Alicia! Great questions. So the textbook is the main book for the curriculum and introduces each topic to the child. The workbook is supplementary and gives opportunities for extra practice. I used the workbook pages as independent work for my kids. If you purchased the textbook, that would suffice but the workbook alone might be harder to work from without the textbook. I hope this helps!
Wondering if we could skip KA and KB all together as my child is already adding and subtracting? Do you think you still need to go through the K level regardless?
I know that Right Start Mathematics has a placement test on their website, you could use that to determine the proper grade level
@@KS-cl8br thank you! That is so helpful!
How old is your child? If they’ve mastered that, they would probably breeze through those parts for KA/KB. These books also cover telling time, money, adding with 10s and other concepts so it might be worth checking out.
Yes, for sure! Thanks!
@@mama-yael she just turned 5
Oh so Dimensions is spiral and not mastery-based like regular Singapore math?
Exactly! My preference is definitely spiral approach. Are you currently using Singapore math?
@@mama-yael I just got Dimensions for PK (so we're just getting started), thinking it's more mastery like Singapore instead of spiral (like Saxon). But let's see, maybe it's a happy accident.
Cool! I wish you all the best with it!
Watch this video. She explains how she doesn't do all the examples. czcams.com/video/tZIekRgMxsQ/video.html
Awesome! Thanks for sharing, Cassie! 😊👍
