    I won’t answer anything, i get lost in the sauce and I do not have knowledge like these wonderful Spirit filled men, . I traveled 🧳 some dirty ungodly roads for a minute. I cry 😭 out most days of remorse , repentance, and Thanking our Savior for His love for me. I feel a inward deep , and I mean deep love for our Lord and Savior and Holy Spirit, who is in me. I pray for all Christians and those who are to come. I ask our Savior to open the hearts and mines of all my family and there extended family from now till our Lord comes. I’m a 73 year old lady, whose education isn’t great, my heart compensates.👳🏻‍♀️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

      Dear Luba, hopefully you have access to this in notifications. I would like to say, a beautiful thing is faith and to whom much is given much is expected, the more illuminated the scripture becomes in a person's heart and mind the more they crave to learn, these men have enormous drive to learn because of what scripture and the holy spirit has revealed to them. The great and perfect gift of salvation, and movement into faith is priceless, your capacity to answer things is whatever it is and God understands it. Your responsibility is to be a light in your actions and words. So just keep a Bible handy, and read it diligently. You will have chances to interact and be around the people who God has put in your path, all that is expected is given already in you, the spirit will answer things in those interactions, and light will be shined for the person who needs it. Don't be discouraged at all by any feelings of inadequacy, He has made you , he knows you , the things he has for you to do, will be done thru our Lord Jesus Christ, the helper Holy Spirit , that is in you.
      So Just Be Faithful, Read scripture, start at Matthew, sprinkle Genesis in, go to John, and then Luke. Prayers to the father of our Lord Jesus Christ for you. Don't worry. We love you. Huggs .

    Formerly attended an SB church - Arminian. Posted a MacArthur sermon on my FB page and was accused of spreading “false teaching”. The pastor had little Bible knowledge, policy against church Bible studies, abused the pulpit, etc. MacArthur helped me to see the folly of that church. I now attend a church with Calvinist beliefs and have Bible study 2 days a week, fellowship with TRUE Christians, and have so much peace. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart, gentlemen, for your knowledge and love for God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and lost people. “The church” is in a terrible state right now…charismatic leanings, the baptismal used for PR, “pastors” with no talent or interest in Bible knowledge. What a mess! Thanks for being the true light in this darkened world!

    I'm fascinated with the fact that although I have never been one to read other people's books or watch their DVDs or follow their teachings, and have only trusted scripture by itself for my instruction in faith, that I, with nothing more than the reading of the King James Bible and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, am in agreement with some of the most well educated, respected and renowned theologians and biblical scholars in the world, whom spent decades under theological, collegiate, and seminary instruction.
    I can't find a single doctrine of J. C. Sproul of which I am in disagreement other than his view on baptism.
    This is evidence that, as scripture itself states, the Holy Spirit is the one and only teacher that we need and that we do not need to be taught by men.

      While I'm not outright disagreeing with you, I do think that 'one and only teacher' in referring to the Holy Spirit may not be correct depending on how you are saying it. God has given His church teachers. But, I think these teachers are those who have a gift given by the Holy Spirit to be teachers. So, while they are teaching and have been given to us for that, it is the Holy Spirit working through them. This is the reasoning behind my thought that it is beneficial and right to seek not only gifted teaching, but the teaching that comes about from being among other believers in general.
      Long story short, I think that a Christian in a closet with a Bible is not correct. I'm not saying that's what you're claiming, but it brought about this thought.

      No one ever born at birth is born outside the kingdom of God.
      In Matt 18-3 Jesus used a little child as an example for the kingdom of God; which means children are born with salvation.
      The little child would not have been aware it belonged to the kingdom of God, but God knows.
      IF GOD DID NOT KNOW THEN JESUS COULD NOT HAVE USED THE LITTLE CHILD AS AN EXAMPLE. Because then He could not have said; "I am the truth."

    Salvation is such a personal matter that subjectively, each believer must ask for the inner witness of the Spirit. Objectively, each believer should strive to understand the Scriptures and put their faith solely upon the person and work of Jesus Christ at the cross and nothing else. We do not put our faith in Calvin or Luther, or MacArthur or others or even in what they say. Our faith must be solely placed on the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ at the cross. The question that is more pressing isn’t, if we can lose our salvation or not, the more pressing question is, am I (personally) in Christ? That’s the matter to resolve.

    If one holds as truth God changes not, then when He creates a living creature be it human, plants, animal or angel, He creates it fully mature. When Jesus fed the 5000 it was pure creation of fish and BAKED bread from moment to moment till all were filled. When He created living creatures they were created whole, mature and able to reproduce after their own kind. Just as the Word testifies. Shalom.

Because of his unremitting scandals Ligonier's board of directors was forced to cut off RC Jr's six figure independent contractor salary. RC Jr blames his mom. As I said he also threw his own children under the bus along with their late mother Denise. He's also thrown quite a few former ministry colleagues under the bus by name. His cash flow problems have nothing to do with his own scandalous life. No, it's everybody else's fault.

    If you take Genesis chapter one in a literal context as six 24hr days.
    Dr John McArthur plz explain why God made two sets of lights on day ONE. Then God made two more sets in v14 and another two sets in v16;
    He also made the starts in v16..
    The sun is a star..
    So if one is supposed to understand Genesis chapter one litteral.
    We should have 4 Sun's and 3 Moons in the sky every 24hr day.
    Plz explain this in a literal context.
    Thank you.

    • @frankz1664
      @frankz1664 Před 2 lety +2

      The light was first made before the sun to show us the light is independent of the sun... but of course many ancients didn't care/believe and worshipped the sun. When he speaks of the stars, it didn't include the sun because God doesn't have to call the sun a star just because little humans HAVE to call it a star. Those stars give us but little light but the sun rules all. And in God's perfect creation (I imagine), He let the moon come out every night over the Garden of Eden to give light to Adam and Eve, it doesn't produce its own light but reflects the greater light.

    I agree with everything John Macarthur teaches except his young creationism. i do not think a correct view of the age of the universe is a gospel issue either. this sounds like a work if it is. it is a secondary issue and i am not saved by believing in a six literal day creation view.

    • @mattbailey4507
      @mattbailey4507 Před 8 lety +7

      +nuthajason we are saved because God saves us. the view of the age of the universe is important because it shows the accuracy of scripture, God created us in six literal day as recorded in genesis, God said "let there be" and it is. Just because human beings can not rap their minds around this has no barring, carbon dating is a devise created by man and like everything man does it is subject to error , the size of the universe and all that it in tells show the greatness of God, the bible says the universe cry's out of God's greatness. you can take something like the grand canyon , some say it took millions of years to make, but if one considers a global flood, the water pressure and flow can move massive amounts of earth and that canyon could have been made in a week , you can see the water lines on the surrounding mountain,

    • @nuthajason
      @nuthajason Před 8 lety +2

      hi matt. actually I am a strict biblical scholar and I do not see that 'yowm' must be a single day. I am happily persuaded by research that yowm also means epoch or era. carbon dating has nothing to do with this debate because the time frames are far vaster than the half life of radioactive carbon. the evidence for an ancient universe and earth is staggering and incontrovertible. I have looked carefully into young earth explanations of star distance, fossils, geological layers etc etc and it is all easily refutable pseudo science and totally un-necessary in the light of interpreting words like yowm, kol eretz and tebel. I subsequently also deny a global flood as Moses uses a Hebrew word that mean local known geography more often than it means global. moses uses global words elsewhere in the Pentateuch but never once in the flood account. I am also a student of biology and know that burying (for example) choral reefs under kilometres of water for a year will kill them utterly. that all the salt water fish would have died from desalination and all the plants would have died from lack of sun, rootrot and immense pressure. there are vast other problems with a global flood that go beyond the scope of this chat thread abut once again these are all un-necessary because the language in the scripture does not demand a global interpretation. so it is firmly a secondary issue though often people who argue with me in debate about this try to make it primary by accusing me of not honouring scripture - nothing could be further from the truth. actually the only reason I feel passionate about my position is that scientists and young scholars also deserve to have the gospel shared with them and they will simply not be able to honestly accept the good news in good conscious while being forced into a young earth position considering the first hand experience they have of the evidence for an old earth. for example in my geology days I once stood touching the riverbed of an ancient stream buried more than a kilometre under highly stratified rock that took millions of years to lay down (I was in a gold mine in south Africa). you cannot ask me to ignore the igneous nature and then the sedimentary nature of this overburden rock - rock that could not possibly have been laid in a single year of the biblical flood - such examples can be multiplied world wide. astronomy alone makes a young earth untenable - (star distance, redshift and basic geometry). and the scripture says that the skies proclaim the works of his hands. and these are mighty billion year old works and that is great. it is therefore not a scripture interpretation issue that makes it nearly a primary issue but it is an evangelical issue. to share the faith winsomely we cannot indulge in pseudoscience and expect scholarly people to ignore a lifetime of chipping at rocks or staring at stars or understanding delicate ecosystems - and expect them to now believe the universe is tiny, that fish can change their saline resistant nature, that humming birds can fly twelve thousand miles to get into a crammed arc and that all the fossils were laid in one event. this is untenable and unnecessary.

    • @mattbailey4507
      @mattbailey4507 Před 8 lety +3

      I can see I'm way over my head In trying to defend the bible's account of creation with you, so i wont. I will have to just stand on the truths that Almighty God has shown to me and I will continue to believe the bibles account of God telling Noah to build an ark so He and his family would survive the flood that God was going to cause as is recorded in Genesis 7. Your personal eye witness accounts of the sedimentary layers must have been something to see, I too saw something similar, but it was only river bed around mount Saint Helen the layers were very hard and the mixture of mud, ash and the stuff from the volcano made a mixture that looked like it was millions of year old , but we all know it is not. You also mention form star distance to humming birds then you quote scripture "the skies proclaim the work of you hand" It is amazing that God chose to reveal Himself to me and I guess your still seeking? I must admit that it I would be very fearful to be one to cause a someone to stumble or even deny the truths That God has recorded in the holy bible. I know I will stand before Him in the future, Let me correct that "I will bow my knee to the God of the universe" when it comes to the word of God I stand in awe of the things I am granted to know.I feel badly for you because you remind me of the scripture of them who God will judge because they thought they were smarter then God, You say you can see the vastness of space and the grandeur of creation, but you pick and choose as if our reasoning is the final authority, thanks for your input, have a great life.

    • @mattbailey4507
      @mattbailey4507 Před 8 lety +4

      The question, is in what god do you believe in? you see there are many who profess faith in god, but they do not believe in the God of the holy bible, the God who created the heavens and the earth in six literal days, From you own confessions you said you do not, I see this as a grave error on your part, if you start off by breaking down the foundation of scripture at Genesis, I am more trouble about how fare you take the whole of this scared writing. You sound like a very educated man, I personally enjoy being around very smart people, they tend to make great sense of many issues.But when anyone and i mean anyone put their own interpretation on holy write, then,it is not I who decides who is a member of the faith or not, I will just point out what the bible reads and will stand on that. And my post in the last was just an observation if you will. nothing to in-depth.

    Around 32:30 how can Sproul say to his daughter Shannon that Jesus loves her if he is a Calvinist? He can presume that his daughter is in the covenant and elect but he can’t be assured of someone else’s salvation including one of his children or his daughter in this case. I’m not a Calvinist but I’m asking this question to point out the problem with Calvinism.

    • @EclecticEzra
      @EclecticEzra Před 5 lety +2

      Rodrick Evans my view of Calvinism is that there’s a general love God has for all people but not a salvific love- that love that is reserved for the elect. So God has a general love for everyone and yes then Sproul can say God loves his daughter but that’s not saying anything special- God loves everyone in that case even the non-elect that He will damn. But Sproul’s hope is that God loves his daughter with a saving kind of love and that can’t be known for certain and shouldn’t be presumed- correct?
