What is the value of arts and entertainment?

Welcome to Inquiring Together, my name is Anthony Barreto. On this channel we look to bring science into political science, explore the interplay between advanced technology, and whether if we can figure out for ourselves how to move forward, together.
On this episode we ask, what is the value of arts and entertainment? We find that arts and entertainment may be more saturated than ever due to advancements in technology. We find that the business model for arts and entertainment may have difficulty catching up with changing dynamics. We also see that conflict in the world conditions art and entertainment to a growing degree. Not only in its creation but in its consumption.
Is there a work of art which solves for conflict both in its creation as well as its consumption? Both within the artistic representation and in our world? Is there a quality of art which requires complete attention and contains a timeless quality, free from psychological time?
