- In this video, I will unbox, install/set up, and review the Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone and the RØDE PSA-1 professional studio boom arm. I will also discuss why I went with the MV7 instead of the very popular SM7B and why Rode PSA1 over Blue Compass boom arm. Lastly, I will explain my pros and cons of both the MV7 and PSA1 from my research and experience

Just wanted to throw in some more thoughts after sitting on these products for a few more days (after edit):
• This great article from Shure articulates some of the points that I was alluding to in the video + other insight that I did not mention:
"Shure has released the brand new MV7 microphone designed especially for podcasters, streamers and vocalists looking for convenient USB and XLR connectivity without compromising their audio."

• Furthermore, the desk insert is great for thicker desks and specifically designated places for things like podcasts, streams, etc. Just not a fan of drilling a hole in my desk when I'm still figuring out the optimal placement.
• For another con of the MV7, the windscreen is not the best. I saw some reviews of other content creators using the SM7B windscreen as a replacement.
• As for the PSA1, it is great. It's been holding firm and has not fallen when in use.
Love the products so far, despite some really minor things.
Your review helped me decide to go with MV7 and having the review of a solid arm sold me to get those . Thank you !
Ive had the mic since it came out! I absolutely love it, however if anyone purchases this mic, i HIGHLY recommend you also getting the Shure RK345 Windscreen for the extra $14 USD. (the RK345 is the smaller pop filter seen on the Shure SM7B and i recommend this as the MV7 Is great, the pop filter is poopoo! )
Awesome vid, just grabbed one on sale and wanted to see some in depth reviews on it. This helped a lot!
Thanks for the review. This combo was recommended to me, for starting to record online Yoga Nidras. Thanks again!
very well done video!!
AWESOME video!
Great review. Does the mic pick up background noises easily?
Great content!
Thanks for the video. I just picked up the Shure MV7 as an upgrade to the Maono AU-A04. Any idea if the boom arm of the Au-A04 would be compatible with the Shure MV7? Would really love to know. Thanks
Thank you Victor
Hey Victor! Does the MV7 work without having to install the Motiv app on my laptop? I'm hoping that I can select it for my zoom calls without having to install anything?
Does it matter if I put the gold adapter in the other way with the 2 little indents on the other side
Danke 🙏🏽
Rode says the the arm needs a microphone with a weight of at least 700g, is the mv7 not too light?? Do they work together?
Dose the mic come with the stand or no?
How is the micro usb holding up after a year?
hi thanks cool video
Great Video Victor. Any post processing of the audio, or just straight from mic? Thanks!
Thank you! No post processing, just some volume adjustment. The audio is straight from the mic.
@@VictorLai sounds great! Thanks for the feedback 👍🏾
