    The best review of a headlamp I’ve ever come across. The quirky comments and movie title references are on point. The comment about the government even more on point. I subscribed. Thank you sir!

    Great review, thank you!
    You made a small mistake and said that Shrek 2 is immersible in up to two meters, that's not correct, it is falling resistant for two meters but not immersible at all (simply water resistant, IPx6)

    Great review. Could you possibly do a comparison of the Fenix HP25R v2.0 against the Fenix HP30R v2. I currently have the Fenix HP30R original (fantastic headlamp) and am wanting to upgrade. Thanks.

  • @Big-Government-Is-The-Problem

    this is a well done presentation but it would be really cool if you did a run time test on the turbo and high. i dont know if this is the case for this light, but many of the lights ive seen only last on turbo for like 2 minutes and like 10 minutes on high before stepping way down.
    that is very important information to know because consumers may buy this thinking it will run consistently at 1000lm for 4 hours like the website says, but i kind of doubt that is how it really is. so do they step down after a short period?

    • @LonghornTactical
      @LonghornTactical  Před 2 lety +5

      Yes fortunately Fenix provides the heat graphs on their user manuals. We link it on the product page of each light on Longhorn Tactical. It looks like the HP25R slowly degrades over the period of an hour on turbo before stepping down fully, and the high mode goes on a little bit past an hour and a half before fully stepping down.

    I am impressed. I guess it is a choice between this one and the hp30 r2. This one seems adequate and the hp30 r2 seems like the bulk might get old after a while. I wonder if I am wrong or right.

    Wanting this for hunting purposes early mornings going in or late coming out. The ONLY issue I see is the over strap. Is there away to remove that top strap or is it built in? Was thinking about cutting it off if it's built in. But again idk how adjustable it would be without the top band holding. I assume the side adjustments should be enough pressure to keep it on your head. But is the light box held up by the top strap? It may fall down if I cut tge strap off. Ugghh idk

    • @ken-ec9wv
      @ken-ec9wv Před 2 lety +1

      From what I see,you can just take that top strap off without cutting it, I had too fiddle around with mine to get a good feel for top strap, I have the older version of this headlamp, but always had top strap on, I don't think taking off top strap would hurt anything, and should stay in place just fine.

    • @mike-ph3fk
      @mike-ph3fk Před rokem +1

      What's the need to take top strap off? I work for ups, and wear mine with a stocking cap, stacked on top of my ball cap, and there's still room to go longer with the top strap. Plus I got a ponytail I have to work around the top strap, and battery pack. That being said, I find the top strap slightly helpful to prevent the light module from riding up my head, and the battery pack pulls it down the back. Just food for thought! :)

      @michaelklein3244 Před rokem

      @@mike-ph3fk yah I left the top strap on. I've been able to get around it. I use it for hunting and a single band seems easier to throw on and off but the cross o er strap does seem to hold better. I kind of like it

    Am I missing something, or isn't it extremely annoying that the red light doesn't have it's own button?
    Risking that you will have to cycle through white light and mess up low light vision when you needed to go straight to red.

    Did you say that the spot can do max of 1600lumen while flood does 400lumen simultaneously. Doesn't that mean that the max output of the headlamp in lumens is higher than 1600?

    • @ken-ec9wv
      @ken-ec9wv Před 2 lety +2

      It will do 2,000 thousand lumens total

    • @LonghornTactical
      @LonghornTactical  Před 2 lety +1

      The HP25R v2 can switch between the spotlight and floodlight, but not simultaneously. The maximum spotlight is 1600 lumens.

    • @ken-ec9wv
      @ken-ec9wv Před 2 lety +4

      I have the new hp25r V2.0, you can use the spotlight and floodlight at same time, just like the hp16r, given you a total of 2,000 lumens, hopefully this helps.

    I started watching your videos until I realised that you are just presenting and reading not rewiew a torch, your avoiding the important thing, HOW LONG IS IT LIGHT ON TURBO, so that's a pity, are they paying you well for lying people?

    • @LonghornTactical
      @LonghornTactical  Před rokem

      I never claimed to be a product reviewer, I work for the distributor, and these are essentially video "user manuals" to help answer questions on how the lights we carry work. I will however begin to start including more runtimes which I think is rather pertinent.
