I miss the copper accent tbh. If your camera has that color recorded accurately and the beam has a hotspot like shown at 2:24, then no thanks. The V2 lets you easily read labels and manuals/books etc if you hold it back slightly and high is bright enough to see far enough to take out the trash or keep tabs on my sister's dogs are over and they go out at night. While the magnet is nice, this seems like a few steps backwards. And I wish companies would let me choose between always starting with low and remembering last setting used. Btw you move the light with every syllable and it's super distracting.

I have 3 AA powered: Olight i5tEOS, Fenit WT20R and Fenix HP16R. For some reason, all the fishermen i know want 3xAAA, no 2xAA headlamps. I guess they are cheap and willing to pay only 10 euros for the flashlight.... My 4xAA Fenix HP16R is a monster. Its not lightweight but its comfortable enough, with a huge throw for a headlamp. And 4xAA or ni-mh will last forever in low level flood. I owned an AA Nitecore headlamp but the ratcheting system never lighted where i needed, it was too low or too high. It needed more little steps.

MT20A and HA11 have been very good to me. I even had to get HA11's for some family members. They get the job done, even if you own 21700 lights. Very portable and lightweight for backup lights.

And can someone explain using the example of Fenix ​​E12v2 and E20v2, which are powered by AA batteries. E12v2 glows for about an hour with a power of 160lm. One of my favorite features is the battery indicator. I have a Warrior Mini 2, where the battery indicator is a single light that changes from green, to orange, to red. I’m sure that’d be helpful if I wasn’t colorblind. I can actually tell my battery level on the Seeker 4 Pro.

Typical fenix. Excellent build quality. Efficient circuit. Terrible tint and no true low mode. I’m done with them.

This seems like a really innovative light, and I'll probably be picking one up. For longer backpacking trips I typically take an 18650 headlamp, plus an extra cell and the Nitecore LC10 which I can use to top up my phone (which I use sparingly for maps/gps and photos). This seems like a much simpler and less cumbersome solution, although probably slightly heavier.

Admittedly, it's a nice light, but a built-in battery that cannot be swapped out means you will eventually have a $100 paper weight. For me, that's a no go.

Why don’t they engineer for 14500 and AA. Seems like a miss here.

I just bought one and absolutely luv it , i thought i always liked a cool white lght beam but this is not really a cool white beam.. but i really like the color it's very bright and clear, so far i really like this light.

Also the later two models have removable straps for cleaning

Excellent review! One small correction is that a full press of the tail switch activates “Turbo” mode, not “High.” It really is a well-designed light.

Something that was left off about the MH25 PRO is that it has 2 different programming modes. The default is the “Daily Mode” that memorizes the last used brightness setting. The other mode is “Tactical Mode” that always activates the light in Turbo mode. I’ve been evaluating this light now for the last 4 months on duty and have it set to tactical mode. Strobe is useless in the real world, and nothing is worse than your light coming on in a dim setting when you need to light the place up. For those reasons, having the side mode selection switch that cannot be accidentally bumped when turning the light on is a plus. If I need to reduce the light output, I can step it down with that side switch. If I suddenly need to immediately illuminate something, I can just cycle the light off and on with the tail switch to get full brightness. There are no double or triple tap modes to accidentally activate. To get to strobe mode, you have to hold down the side switch for several seconds after activating the light. I find that to be a good thing since it is difficult to accidentally activate. I have also found myself really appreciating the “UltraLow” mode that is accessed by first pressing and holding the side switch and then turning on the light with the tail switch. This has been really useful for looking for something I may have dropped in my car without destroying my night vision. In the end, I think my Stinger 2020 will be returning to my duty belt with this going in the SAP pocket as a long range thrower. The Stinger can output a lot of light over a long period of time, but it has significantly less candela. I’ve been really liking the MH25 PRO so far for its beam distance and ability to always turn on at full brightness.

The Fenix pd36r pro doesn't fit a sh*t in this comparison. You have 2 good throwers over 700 m and then you bring a mix beam with 380 m... Did you ran out of throwers by that time?

You should have mentioned it is VERY battery dependant. The 5Ah v2.0 included is ok, but it works way better with the 4000P, and the original 5000 doesn't turn the turbo on for more than a second before turning it off. It is a great light, by all means, but this is actually where proprietary batteries shine: in order to get what this light does, you need to do your research. PS: just ordered a spare 4000P just to run on this specific light. Still love it.
