Hammered Bronze Banshee Face

I raise a screaming face from a silicon bronze sheet in this video using repousse techniques. I begin by hot raising a bulge into a piece of 18 bronze. This bulge is then shaped over stakes and with various punches to chive the facial features. A pitch backer is then melted to achieve the finer details. This is the first step in the creation of a hood ornament. The next video will focus mainly on the hair.

Another home run video, great example of progressively working the metal.
On the one hand, it’s great to have your vehicle back. On the other hand, one can feel “soiled” by the occupancy of your vehicle by thieves. Dealing with Insurance companies makes one feel robbed again and further soiled.
At 4:11 in the video you could’ve stopped, and just called the object a copy of Edvard Munich’s “The Scream”.
An appropriate response to dealing with thieves and Insurance companies and Body shops.

Man. Watching you shape and sculpt sheet metal is both fascinating and humbling.
Seeing as how this banshee head will be adorning the front of your truck perhaps you should consider incorporating some horsehair or some other kind of material that would blow in the wind and that would not get ruined by rain.
