Man they really hate that talking raptor.
Yeah, but at least that was a dream sequence and didn't actually happen in the world of the film.
As opposed to death by gymnastics, which to my memory, is the only time a human directly killed a raptor. Except for locking one in the fridge, but that was the cold.

Competent people, regardless of what the narrative wants, usually earns the respect of the audience. I can understand that the person is the villain, but at least the villain does it for reasons relatable to that person. It a major component that Hollywood doesnt understand these days.

Its the same problem that pretty much all sequels have. The producers take what was great in the first film and say 'hey people liked that, lets put WAY more of it in the sequel' so what you end up getting is a movie thats just bigger than the first. But bigger isnt always better, because subtlety is what make some films work. A little goes a long way.
Dinosaurs have more impact in the first movie because you see less of them.
It’s still an awesome movie with the best special effects in the series.
When i saw this and they were doing that entire chapter with the t-rex in the city i was wondering "WHY? This movie should have ended already! Why are you doing this??", and then i considered that somehow they got more money from the studio just to have a scene with a t-rex running through a city for the lols...
Sometimes directors don;t know how to do a proper ending. At least it became a comedy at that point.

This is hilarious. Love the part introducing Ian Malcom when the voice over goes 'introducing everybody's favourite sidekick from Jurassic Park' and it cuts to Jeff Goldblum making those inaudible dinosaur sounds and the one introducing Pete Postelwaithe haha.

***** No, I think JP3 was better than this one. Not by much, but the gymnastic bit for me was definitely the absolute low point for the franchise, and although 2 and 3 both had unlikeable characters, I think 2 was worse.
Noxshus same, I didn't start paying attention to reviews, critics and ratings til last year. Maybe that's why I liked the movie? That and I was like 8 when it came out.
K IRA I also liked 3 the best. Who were unlikeable characters? Only ones I could think of if any are Mr. Kirby, Cooper and maybe Mr. Udesky, but I kind of liked Mr. Udesky.

Jurassic Park is just so fun, my siblings and I grew up with marathons of all 3 and eventually we just started cheering everytime someone got brutally killed by a dinosaur. We saw Jurassic World in theaters and when that secretary was being flipped around and killed we cheered...it did not go over well with the audience 🤣🤣

I don’t think it was better than the original but I do love this one, right up to the point they leave the island. I liked how dark and scary this one was set up to be...but it shoulda ended with the rescue and maybe just saved the San Diego bit for the 3rd.

This was movie was constructed like King Kong. Humans go to an island that is populated with dinosaurs and other extinct creatures, and they end up being massacred by the animals, so they try to escape. On the way to the boat, the biggest and scariest creature is tranquilized and brought back to the city, where it is shown off to the people. It eventually breaks loose and attacks the populace until it is defeated.
Ikr I watched the movie for the first time today and I couldn't stop thinking exactly that!

Malcolm isn't as bombastic in the sequel as he was in the first film because his horrifying experience in the first film changed him in the second... This movie gets a lot of unfounded hate.

When I watched it the first time as a kid, I really doubted whether this was a sequel to Jurassic Park. They just felt like two different movies. I still love it though.

FrozenHeart Bri Hate spreads like wildfire on the internet. Once ScreenJunkies makes a video about how it "sucks", it becomes cool to not like it. No one is going to say "it was good, but not as good as the first", they just want to label it as "awesome" or "sucks". In my actual life, I don't know anyone who didn't like it.

Honestly I loved watching this movie growing up because I loved the dinosaurs
3:15 - There was a scene in the first book (Jurassic Park) in which Alan Grant sees a pack of velociraptors heading towards a boat that was going back to the mainland. Basically, that's what spurred the idea of the entire crew of the ship in this movie being dead. It begs the question (actually, two questions):
The ship could have been programmed to start the trip, and was guided to the mainland by GPS, but how did the raptors have time to kill the entire crew before the ship was too far from the island for them to get off the ship? I dare say that they're _obviously_ not built for swimming.
Other than "reasons," or "the plot demanded it," _why_ did the raptors get off the ship?

The Lost World is more of a horror film than an adventure like JP.
I died at the Kobayashi part. xD
I love this movie!!! It's pitch perfect summer popcorn entertainment. I hate that people try to compare it to the first one. Jurassic Park is my favorite movie of all-time and I've accepted that there will never be any movie that gives me the same experience. That being said, the Lost World gives us fantastically constructed dinosaur action, and it really is well made!

Sure, most of the characters are terrible, and the plot has alot of glaring issues, but it is just a perfect popcorn flick.

The characters are likable and well acted which is adequate when the real stars are the beautifully realized dinosaurs. The movie is well made on every level, the cinematography, the stunts, the special effects, and the overall thrill factor. The only thing people bash it for is either the 15 seconds of gymnastics or the fact that it wasn't as good as Jurassic Park. You can't claim that this movie wasn't technically brilliant and I have a hard time believing you could argue against it's dinosaur thrills.
Jared Pahl That for me is three. What gets me about this movie is just how utterly pretentious its save the environment message is. I mean seriously Vince Vaughn's character pretty much sabotages all the hunters cages getting dozens of people killed and then betrays the hunter guy by stealing his ammo even after he and his men saved their lives. And were supposed to root for them just because they want to save the trees.
Rock Steel I completely disagree. Even so, the movie is meant to be taken as a thrill ride, and it is one hell of one.
