Your 70th birthday is a big one! I experienced it first hand myself last year. The inevitable question is, “What gift would you like?” Like so many women, my first reaction is to say, “It really doesn’t matter. It’s just another birthday.” We often tell family and friends that we are downsizing and really don’t really need a gift! But any birthday that ends with a zero seems worthy of some special recognition.

My 70th birthday was in March. I walked out of my house w my small rolling luggage to the nearby Amtrak, took the roomette (wonderful meals included) and traveled by train from Emeryville, California to Chicago! Studied art for 5 days at the Art Institute of Chicago w a dozen other ladies my age.(Roads Scholar small group trip)..returned by train past Glacier National Park w stop in Portland! Took in the Blues, the boat tour, walking tour, the symphony/ballet! My family is remote...good to treat ones self very well on a very special occasion! 70 ROCKS! Also for once...I actually had only the appropriate clothing that I required...traveled light! Santa Fe is on my menu next year... I love your videos! So inspiring!!!

For my husbands 70 th the whole family got together for the weekend in Ireland it was amazing. The hotel gave us all disposable cameras. We snapped away all weekend then they made it into a album for us when we left x
I will be 73 in two weeks on November 17th. The best gift I would like to just spend the day with my forever angel of a friend. She is so relaxing and the sweetest gift, great to laugh with and her tenderness is so welcoming. Her caring heart is indescribable. I feel the best gifts are what we are to each other. Loving.

What about 7 small gifts wrapped up one for each decade / a book you loved as a child but no longer have - some are republished with beautiful covers / a trip to the hairdressers / vouchers from one of the main coffee chains so you can treat yourself when you go out.

Happy Birthday Margaret! I celebrated my 80th milestone birthday almost a year ago and I am coming up to 81 in a few months. As a gift, I gave myself a great big box of gratitude for my life and family and then had a quiet dinner with family and those who have meant so much to me in my life. Age is just a number and birthdays are only a reminder that no matter how many candles are in the cake, you are only as young or old as you feel! ❤️. Sandra

For my 60th, coworkers and friends gave me a surprise birthday party. It was my first time ever and I really enjoyed it. I’m 66 now so have lots of time to think of what I’d like for my 70th but I’m sure it will involve travel or pampering 😊.

Happy Birthday, Margaret! You certainly don't look like you are 70! I have seen that Book of Me and I think I will get it for my best friend. She will be 68 in October. Thanks for all the ideas... I would love to have all three of my children and my 2 grandsons together with me at the beach. We have not all been together at the same time since my son got married in 2012. We all live on different coasts! I did just get to spend two weeks in California with my daughters but it would be nice to all be together!

Last February, I celebrated my 70th birthday in Puerto Vallarta. We go there to the same hotel every winter for a month. This year my husband bought a large box of French pastries for brunch with friends and the hotel staff.

Your video has helped a great deal. My wife's 70th birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks and I'm terrible of thinking up gifts to buy her. She has everything she needs (or goes buy it!) so it makes it difficult. Watching your video brought a brainstorm! I'm going to write out 70 different pages of special memories I have of her (or we've shared together in 40 years of marriage) and write them out in a blank book. 70 pages worth. THAT I KNOW SHE'LL ENJOY GREATLY!
