Recently I stumbled onto Sixty and me. And now I am addicted. I feel as if I’ve moved into a new neighborhood and have found my tribe. Would love to finish all of my thoughts on how great these videos are but I’m off to the website to join the private group and do some yoga. Thank you Margaret!

Thank you Margaret. It's good to see you today. You look lovely as ever. We're in a very task oriented world. For some that's how to accomplish things. I was very task & goal oriented always determined to be on mark and excel. About 10 years ago my life turned upside down & inside out due to health issue. A dramatic shift in my life which affected every aspect and changed my world. I can't say I'm on the other side of it but I changed my mind. Life looks different upside down when you roll over to look up. For me, my trust in God, faith and grace has gotten me thus far.
I choose to not set a goal this year. That doesn't mean I don't have my tasks or look forward to surprise blessings. I've planned vacations short & long term and truly enjoyed myself.
I lived a life of planning; not planning is a gift to myself. You had a subscriber who remarked ( I think last week) how you & we talk of downsizing a lot. She chooses not to. She sees her things about her & in her home as gifts and accomplishments and doesn't want to limit them or herself. That's the beauty of this group as in expressing ourselves and sharing our thoughts & feelings. Kudos to her for going against the trendy minimalism grain. I've been downsizing for years and continue to do so. I was up before sunrise today thinking of things to clear out. It feels good to be able to donate something I don't use anymore and provide something someone else may need. Somedays I find my self reorganizing which is just shifting things around. My small tasks this calendar year is to evaluate my closets & things that are put away to give them a new home. ( whether gifting or just putting it out in view or back away). I marie kondo'd things this past year and wish I had kept a few things but most of it I don't miss.
As far as the 60 and me community it's wonderful. I think it's a place for many women in last third to find her voice, explore possibilities or just get enjoyment. The world seems very youth oriented. I think it's great that so many 60+ women are getting creative on you tube. I smile as I've followed young women who do boast of 30k or 60k subscribers and how they're making a living out of CZcams videos and affording great housing and lifestyles. I was amazed at how much they earn though it's not promised. Then through patreon they get regular donations. A brand new world of making a living at home or while traveling. It's great that women in 60, 70s and beyond are exploring these avenues.
Thank you for opening up a world to us Margaret.
I look forward to your posts each day.
Blessings to all of you. 💝

D Love of hounds what a thoughtful and lovely post. You sound a brave person who’s learnt a lot from your life. Hope you have a good day today .... enjoy the freedom from planning that you mention. Sounds like you appreciate that 😊

@@elizabeth4090 thank you. I never know if anyone reads my comments but I feel led every once in a while. Oh no I don't think I've been brave through things but so much has come against me in my life & I'm still here. Somehow I've had a faith since I was very small & anytime I was scared I talked to God. I can't remember a time not believing in Him. I asked my sister the other day when she called her opinion: she said I've always been like this so maybe even from the womb as my mother had a very quiet demeanor & belief in God. It's been an interesting journey and way too tumultuous for even a novel.
So grateful for new days. I hope to have a pleasant one today.
I wish you all good things. Bless you! 🌷

My 21 year old son, who still lives with us, was just diagnosed with schizoid and persistent depression. He is non functioning at this point, and still a huge worry in my heart. My goal is to be able to be hopeful, helpful, and continue to carry his concerns lightly, rather than with a heavy heart. I'm just about to turn 60 and I'm at a stage where I'm ready to be an empty-nester more than ever, and it seems it's never going to happen. I guess I could use a hug! Your videos are what I look forward to each morning! Thanks Margaret!

I've just turned 59 and I've been an empty nester for two years now. I was quite sad at first and I still find it difficult at times, but with only my own needs to consider, I've given myself permission to try things I never had the time to do before, like discovering train travel, and exercise, and cooking foods that only I like to eat, and going to museums and galleries, etc. I've been conquering my own Everests!

This looks like eating healthy foods and staying physically active. At 71 years young, this give me something to work toward and look forward to. 🥰☮️😍

Thanks so much Margaret for this inspiring episode. It has been a very hot few weeks here in Southern Ontario after a long, drawn out rainy spring. It has also been a devastating one for my family. We lost a son in law through a dreaded disease at a young age and we are so broken. Watching our daughter and granddaughter deal with this has left me feeling disjointed, separate from reality and unable to function really. But your video today has made me realise that moving forward, (not moving on as he will always be with us and always be important to us), is what I need to do. He would have been so supportive of any goal I wished to attain, he was that kind of wonderful person. Now, I just need to figure out what these future goals could be and I hope that time will give me clues. Any hugs for my daughter and granddaughter would be much appreciated and for myself, any ideas on how to decide goals would be wonderful. Love your videos. Thanks again for this timely topic.

There is nothing worse than a bad marriage. Living a lie doesn’t work without heavy consequences physically, emotionally and spiritually. Sometimes the grass isn’t greener and sometimes it is. Be careful out there as far as men are concerned Thank you for your courage to share. Where there is a will there’s a way. My deepest love and support.

Margaret, this moved me so much. When you said “live it, just live it” and “if you need a hug..” it made me cry, in a good way. I hadn’t realised quite how much I need to hear that. I’m finding this year so hard, not sure when / whether / if to retire this time next year. I committed that I would work to October 2020 yet in the actual carrying out of that promise, it feels such a long and lonely road. Any hugs or anyone in the community SO gratefully received today. Love to all 💐

Hi since I finished the menopause I have trouble sleeping. I go to bed tired then my mind wont shut down and I do get some of my best ideas but when its 4oclock and I am still awake not good. I still get up at the same time but I need my sleep. I am one of those people who can't function without sleep. I have tried the usual things but only a couple of glasses of wine ensure I sleep. Not something I want to keep doing. Has anyone found a natural product that works. Thanks.
