I'm 70 and in good shape but my wife now 68 suffered morbid obisity since her early 30's. She really cannot walk now since her knees are a total wreck . What travel options outside of the US are available for us? thanks ... Javier from Houston, Texas

Your child cut contact with you for a reason. Peroid. This is not done easily for any child, and is a last resort. I promise you it's not so much what you did, but your consistent failure to acknowledge it, show empathy for how they feel, own it, show an understanding of how it must make them feel, offer a SINCERE apology, and promise to work on changing the behavior. That's all any hurt child wants to hear/feel. I PROMISE this is why you're in your situation. Your child is HURTING. It's time to really listen to your child, take what they say seriously, and do some real self-reflection. No child doesn't want their mother or father. If they are estranged, it's because they couldn't get through to you for years, and it was more painful and stressful to be around you than it is to be away from you. Your child pays a big price because of all the judgement and critisism they'll endure from the rest of the family, and they'll lose other relationships because of it. It has to be really bad if they're willing to risk all of that. I hope that sinks in.
