I just purchased this exact version with AWD and can say I am enjoying it so far. It feels more elegently executed compared to a toyota highlander. It does have some weird quirks for this price point like, why can't the rear passengers adjust their own climate controls & why the doors don't unlock when i stick my hands in the handle, and why no USBC ports? I was bumbed that it doesn't have a removable center seat to actually seat 7 in the US in this trim, but the pass through has been working great with my kids. Its been much easier to get into the rear seats with, especially since once of the captains chair has a fixed booster seat.
In my opinion, a center pass through underneath the center console is an extremely valuable thing. Especially for women who have to always either put their purse in the passenger seat or on the passenger's lap haha. I really wish that you guys would always bring attention to the pass-throughs that these vehicles have, but also to please tell us if the vehicle definitely does NOT offer one.
I traded in a 2021 kia sx prestige for a 2023 kia hybrid sx prestige. Less git up and go but much better ride and mileage and no transmission problems. I am much happier with the hybrid. You gave a great review but like other reviews I've read they mention having to plug in smartphone to get android auto. This vehicle has an excellent navigation system that is never mentioned. I never use android auto.
I too got a 2023 hybrid aws Sorento and get 32+ mpg easily. There is no excuse for trucks to get such crappy mileage.
I have to say that this car is the narrowest 3 row suv you could find in the market. Perfect for people who has a narrow driveway just like me.
Exactly why I got it. I live in the city and our condo parking is narrow.

Loving our Hybrid SX Prestige. Got it all the way back in September 2022 in Alaska. Coming up on 13k miles! Oil changes 5k or less so far 😁
I have had this exact trim as a loaner for over a week and here are my thoughts:
1. Smooth driving vehicle.
2. Front seat bottom cushions feel like pieces of cardboard topped with leather. Unbelievably uncomfortable on the tush.
3. Real world gas mileage is 31.7 in eco
4. In reverse, cannot figure out how to turn off the reverse beep, beep, beep.
5. Plenty of space inside.
6. Lane centering really works!
How is your experience with it so far? I find it tough to decide which one to go with the sorrento or santa fe

Kia Sorento Hybrid is very unique. It’s only this and Toyota Highlander hybrid that are self charging hybrids with 3 row seating. Recently reviewed Highlander Hybrid and it was a pleasant car to drive. Now curious about Kia Sorento Hybrid. Great review guys

If I need legitimate space for a 3rd row, I'm choosing a Telluride or new Pilot.
But with a handful of passengers, and the back row down, it leaves a TON of room for cargo. More than a CRV or RAV4 can offer. Compact hybrid gas milage + larger SUV space = a winner for my needs.
we've got this very model and our biggest gripe is that there are NO air vents in the very rear seats and the AC power fan doesn't push the air sufficiently for you to feel comfortable in the very back. If you live where it's colder it might not be an issue but in the southwestern states it's an issue! ugh!
Outstanding presentation. Curious, would you select the Sorrento or Sportage for overall best value. I liked the Sportage until I saw your review, now leaning towards the Sorrento, HELP!
Thank you! It comes down to personal taste and a few features. The Sportage has grown so much that's not far behind the Sorento in size. But if you want a third row, more power or prefer the styling, then Sorento would be the pick.

Great review, as I’m in the market for one of these, I think I’d still opt for the gas version with more power, the increased fuel economy in the hybrid isn’t enough of a difference to pull me away from the all gas model

I enjoyed your review. I have a 2020 Highlander Platinum Hybrid which I really enjoy. I have been looking at the Kia Sorento Hybrid as an eventual replacement. What I would have liked to seen is how the lane keeper worked on the car. The Toyota version isn't as reliable as the Volvo or Honda versions (I have had both SUVs.) Did you guys try out the lane keeper?
Thanks! Lane keeping in Kia's does a pretty good job. It'll definitely keep you in your lane but sometimes it can be overly aggressive

Nice to see they have added more features, but the hard plastic center console and lack of a head up display are head scratching at this price point.
Costs significantly less than a similarly equipped Highlander, which is it's most direct competitor.
Your comment is irrelevant to mine, and this doesn’t compete with the Highlander, this a Santa Fe, Murano competitor.
This disappoints me for the same reason the EV-9 does. I don't understand why Kia doesn't think some people aren't going to want the top trim without being forced into Captain's chairs in the second row. At 38 mi per gallon for front wheel drive this would be an awesome ride share vehicle if you could seat seven and have the top trim.
Again with the no wireless CarPlay thing. $100 adaptor solves the issue. Yes, they need to solve the disagreement with their native navigation provider to allow for it but…making that the air ball really speaks volumes to how good the vehicle actually is.

There are a lot of variables at play here. Mainly, the Highlander is larger and seems to get better fuel economy in the real world. We find the Sorento to be better equipped and better looking. Not needing the extra space, we'd pick the Kia.
Great price for the base hybrid.
Where is the spare tire? The last 2 flats I've had were cuts, not punctures. Not only couldn't they be repaired at the road side with some "fix a flat" junk, they couldn't be repaired in a well equipped tire shop. That means that without a spare, I'd be waiting for a tow truck. For me, no spare, no sale.
Will this car have a version with 3 seats in the middle, giving a total of 7? (sorry if I missed this info on the video)

My 2021 Kia Sorento SX Prestige had a bad transmission and will now be a lemon. This experienced ruined Kia for me, but the included accessories will be missed, like my side view cameras.

Unfortunately insurance don't like to hear "Kia and Hyundai". For sure they gonna use it as a excuse to increase their premium rates, even in those states that were not affected by the TikTok trend.

@@Isakki I completely agree with you, nice cars very affordable but just saying how bad these 2 were and are affected by the trend and the excuse insurance have now.
@@IsakkiIt actually does because potential thieves/copycats aren’t bothering to check if it’s actually one of the vulnerable models before breaking in. Even if the vehicle can’t be stolen it’s still causing a rise in insurance claims. Insurers are raising rates on most Kia’s and Hyundai’s as a result.

Forget it if you need range and towing ability and performance. I have a DIESEL TURBO Sorento which is a great vehicle for Australian conditions but as KIA are dropping the DIESEL TURBO, I will go to MAZDA to upgrade.
From family perspective, captain seat should have been optional, bench default!
I personally would choose captains over a bench with my kids! It’s so easy to get to the back!
Not offering the awesome Kia Sorento hybrid with a full 3-seater bench second row is absolute heresy!! How can you have such a frugal and attractive SUV that COMPLETELY takes away the frugalness, when you can't sit three relatives in your second row, and just fold down the third row seat??!!

2021 Sorento Hybrid owner here and I've come to say... Refill inverter coolant.
(This is a warning light that constantly comes on all the time and has tons of owner complaints that kia refuses to fix. The light constantly goes off anytime you use pretty much anything on your steering wheel controls. Super convenient.)

The fuel economy of the Kia Sorento Hybrid is a scam!!! This hybrid car is engine faulty. After suffering from an engine problem in Korea, Kia updated the ECU, but the car owners were upset that the fuel economy fell. The reason is that the engine did not turn off and kept idling, resulting in poor fuel economy. Nevertheless, Kia continues to sell fraudulently without revising the initial fuel economy.
