    I expected the MDX, X5, or GV80 to be #1 so I'm really surprised the TX won. Maybe it's one of those cars that feels a lot nicer in person than the pictures. However, from what I've seen in reviews and in pictures, it doesn't look that much nicer than a Grand HIghlander and feels too Toyota.

      X5 doesn’t even belong on this list, if you look at the title, this list is for 3-rows, the X5 is a 2-row, as much as I dislike the GLE, it makes sense to put the GLE on this list as Mercedes offers an optional 3rd row

  • @CarGeek360
    @CarGeek360 Před 2 dny +3

    As much as I love my mom’s 2023 MDX Advance, the TX definitely deserved 1st place on this list. The TX is the one to buy if you’re going to use the 3rd row regularly however for us the MDX is a better choice as we rarely use the 3rd row, like the wood trim in the MDX, like the N/A V6 in the MDX, and like the driving dynamics of the MDX (best part of the MDX over the TX). I do feel the MDX should’ve got a 2 in the space category though (3rd row has decent room, but it’s def tight compared to something like a Lexus TX, trunk is large though). Also IMO the Acadia Denali doesn’t belong on this list. It just doesn’t seem luxurious to me. You guys should’ve def put the top-trim Mazda CX90 on this list though, that’s a true luxury SUV. I feel like the MDX, TX, and CX90 are the top 3 choices for a Japanese luxury SUV, new QX60 is a chronically sad joke from my experience as it drives poorly. Between the CX90, MDX, and TX, I think the CX90 is best for sportiness, TX is the best for comfort, MDX is a blend of the two. TX is ofc the way to go if you’re going to use the 3rd row regularly however, I just wish the TX used more wood trim and better ambient lighting.

    I'm not sure one can give the #1 spot in the 'Best Luxury Midsize' category to a vehicle that you rank 2.5 for the Luxury category... The very essence of buying in this segment are the 'Luxury' features. Lexus, while being a very nice vehicle, has been living in the middle of the segment for awhile now. So far as materials used inside the cabin, how far you have to climb the trim levels to get to a Pano sunroof etc, it falls short from the #1 spot. It really belongs a ranking in the middle of the class.
    Appreciate your informative vlogs. I understand that your rankings are yours and are subjective. I just value the Luxury/Tech/ride portion more than space for example

      @@CarConfections While I understand that you are trying to develop a methodology for 'fair' analytical rankings, I believe that you need to tweak it a bit based on the category. For instance, vehicles in the 'Luxury Mid Sized' Best Of class should get a bonus factor for Luxury. Say a factor of 1.5-2.0 would allow for a better list just based on the category name. Just one persons opinion of course. Again, your channel is very well done. Just a suggestion for a tweak in the future.

    You need to do a kennel test. A lot of people have dog kennels and want to know what size kennels will fit in the back with the third row folded down. The three most popular sized kennels are the RuffLand X-Large, Large, and Intermediate sizes. I am shopping for a SUV and need to know what size kennel will fit in the back. Also, If the back lid will close properly. If the folded down third seat is flat enough to hold the kennel without rocking. And will the kennel fit lengthwise or sideways with a side door entrance option.
    It would be REALLY nice if you could do a kennel size fitting test on SUVs since nobody else is doing this and this would be a great way to show the amount of space you actually have in the back of each SUV. Hope you do this, since this is a huge buying factor for people with dogs and kennels.

It’s also got a very powerful 4-cylinder engine that makes more power than the base TX 4-cylinder. The Lexus falls behind the all-new Acadia Denali tremendously in the luxury department, while the Acura is leaps and bounds behind GMC in the technology category. The Acadia isn’t as sporty as the BMW, Mercedes or Genesis but they aren’t nearly as spacious in the third row or practical for cargo behind it as the Acadia. Certainly, you have one already, right? Lol 😂 The new GX is sporty, sleek, fresh, and new. It's still VERY NICE. You still feel the LEXUS when in it. I'm sure Toyota has heard your cries and felt your tears, and with that, I'm SURE they will PLUSH it up for you in 2025. Drive it! Videos don't give you all that it's got. 😉

      Warranties are only as good as the company that backs them. I had a Honda Odyssey with a VCM engine. The VCM caused the engine to misfire which is common. American Honda voided my full powertrain warranty claiming the VCM is not covered. I sued them for forty thousand and one. Took over a year. After I won I fixed the engine myself with a 60 dollar VCM blocker. American Honda could not install or even mention to me to use a VCM blocker since it would void the billions they get from the government for increased mileage gained using the VCM designed engine.
