Informative as always! Thank you.
Amazing succinct, informative presentation!
I love my Rav4 and would like to upgrade to a newer or new hybrid in the future. Thank you for this information!
Thank you for review!
Great as always!
Thanks for the unbiased info. It's so hard to get straight forward information out there! This helped a lot.
Loved your conscise report
Helpful video, thank you
My 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Patinum AWD cruising range on a full tank is 600 miles. Truly amazing efficiency for a daily driver.
Nice video …thanks ❤
The Kia may or may not have a great reputation for reliability but they do offer a standard 10 year/100k mile warranty.
I was happy to see the Venza at number 3. Very surprised you ranked it above Lexus. I have always been a Lexus person. However, I couldn’t find any hybrid Lexus SUVs.. I found the 2023 Venza Limited, however, it is a great Segway between the two.. it offers the about the same luxury as Lexus with a Toyota price.
I tried the RAV4. I did not like the boxiness or the cheap materials but it is a great buy.
Even though you’re sacrificing on cargo space with the Venza, it is a great SUV and works for my family.
Since purchasing in February, I have had a chance to try a RX and a NX and still feel you get better value for the money with the Venza. Same options in the NX Luxury is $15k more then the Venza.
Glad I watched these videos before purchasing my first car, let alone a hybrid!
Excellent advice ❤👍😀
I am switching cars soon and I was looking at rav4 and second choice was corolla cross, thanks for ur helpful vids
Hybrid AWD, unfortunately the market is so expensive rn... I'm waiting to buy lol
The Cross is a real value. I like CUV's like our UX, but the Cross is an attractive, affordable and durable choice.
Another intelligent review with no hype or histrionics! Admire your straightforward style. Thanks!
My pleasure!
You make excellent videos. Thank very much
Regarding the RAV4, I’m 5’3” with shorter legs. Having the driver’s seat forward enough for my legs in the ‘22 and ‘23 RAV4 put the door window controls on the driver’s door in an awkward position for my hands to reach, having to pull my forearm back. The driver’s door controls in the ‘22 Highlander are angled upwards and positioned a bit differently, so I didn’t have this issue with it, nor with the Venza. Something you might want to pay attention to if you’re a shorter driver.
Seats on Rava and hand rest is horrible
The nickel metal hydride batteries compared to lithium batteries are safer to have in your hybrid. Isn’t the Nickel metal in the RAV 4 hybrid whereas lithium is in the Carolla Cross hybrid?
The only car guide I actually trust, thank you.
Hello
Out off all SUV which one is quiet for highway drive . My Honda CRV 2020 is feeling more noisy than ford fusion energi!
Because of your video, I bought 2022 Highlander hybrid and we absolutely love it. We have new born and we feel so safe driving her around. Also the gas mileage is something I always brag about
Just bought the Toyota Cross Hybrid and absolutely love it!!
How is yor initial impression holding up? We are thinking of getting one
Thanks for this. Well done, and I believe a fair ranking. Nice, but not surprising, to see all the Toyotas. Originally, we were going for the Corolla Cross, but the wait time, in our area is 2 yrs. and possibly longer. So we switched to the RAV4. Wait time for it is 12 months +? But we are ok with that as our Jetta TDI gets about 4.3/100 km. Sadly the price of diesel here now is constantly 40 cents more per litre. One of the reasons for the move to Toyota.
Nice review
You have the best reviews
I am looking to get the RAV4 Hybrid, and have put money down on it. I ordered the Pearl White with the light tan interior. I am hoping I won't have to wait a year for it!!!
In the USA or Canada ? I can’t find them with light interior 😢
We love our Venza Limited. At the time we got it (Aug 21), it was a nicer interior than the NX and felt more updated. And was more affordable, got better gas mileage and was quieter. Two years on, we are still averaging around 6 - 6.3 L/100km. The size is perfect for use, it is stylish and we love the Blueprint blue colour. Just wish we could have got the tan interior.
Venza should be at #1 in this top. No Kia and Ford clunkers.
Great Review!!! Thanks
Love your videos, always to the point . That said , I am not sure Rav4 hybrid should be the first choice , its reliable, yes , its good hybrid system , yes , but its painful to drive with very high cabin noise decibel. Engine is noisy and cabin not insulated at all . Good luck having a conversation while driving .
i would rather go with lexus RX350h , as best value !
Good info on the RAV4! I've only seen them, & they did look kinda cheaply made...but then they are kinda cheap relative to the others. 😅😂
Did you try the Venza? That should be the #1 from all relevant indicators POV: reliability, TCO, longevity, safety, comfort, safety, economy, quality/price ratio etc.
We are waiting for our Kia Sportage SX prestige. We have great hopes for it.Tank you very much for a great top 10 evaluation..
Did you get it yet?
I do pizza/ food delivery. About 40-60 miles a day stop n go. Which hybrid SUV would u recommend for that job?
Basically he's saying just get Toyota/Lexus Hybrid SUVs.
And he is right. Toyota/Lexus owns the hybrids. Still, Honda or Suzuki would be good choices too.
I am ordering a Corolla Cross 2024 in December and should get it in February.
Why are the prices shown in these car reviews less than what is offered at the dealership? I guess the dealer markup is a Problem!! So frustrating
How is it that Toyota sienna gets 35 mph and is so much bigger than your list. Im a large man and im not sure i would fi even in the grand hylander. Any comments would be appreciated. I know i would have to buy at a premium and wsit about a year for an order.
I would go for Ford Hybrid! I own a Ford Escape 2013 for 10 years now and have had no issues with it
I’m in the market for a hybrid, but how good is it in extreme winters that last 6, 7 months (in the negative temps) in the northern part of the midwest? Is it worth buying?
It is a hybrid (best value for money, most reliable car segment, according to the Consumer Reports studies), not an electric clunker (the least reliable cars, as per the same CR studies). Yes, the electric-only range will decrease in the winter, but the ICE will work fine and the mpg will still be good, because the ICE for hybrids is usually in Atkinson cycle, very efficient, especially in Toyota/Lexus engines.
For me a noisy cabin is a deal killer. I wonder if there is an awd hybrid with decent gas mileage, excellent reserve power, 3500+ lbs towing, and a quiet (no road noise) cabin?
My 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum AWD has a very quiet cabin. Not as quiet as my Lexus but good enough
Great ❤❤❤
Your top is almost good on paper. Almost.
But people do look also for the quality/price ratio.
Thus I would switch Venza with RAV 4, because Venza seems the best; I would replace the NX with the UX (far better overall KPI's and real life experience), I would take out Kia and Ford and replace them with other Toyota and Honda hybrids.
The top Japanese brands (except Mazda and Subaru, late for the hybrids' party but amazing in ICE's) do own the hybrids' segment.
This is a good list with essentially no surprises.
Honda needs to step up its hybrid game & I think they could create some game changers by adding hybrid systems to the Passport, the Pilot & the HR-V models
Like #100!!!
I'm crazy about Shari
Which is the best 3 row affordable PHEV SUV?
most of americans and canadians are addicted to rav 4 which I don't like in terms of design. I knew you'd choose rav 4 :D
Is a Tucson hybrid not good ?
We looked really hard at the honda CRV and as nice as it was I couldnt get past a $15,000 difference in cost compared to the Rav 4 and the reliability of Toyota. We will be receiving our 2024 Rav4 XLE Hybrid in about 1 week
how do you like it
We love it. We are averaging 5.5 ltr/100 km. Very nice ride, very quiet and good in the snow
How does the cost of car ownership in your country compare to other countries?
Which country do you live in?
I’m looking now and I driven 3 hybrids Toyota rav4 limited,Toyota Venza limited and the Honda CRV touring all 3 models are in the $40,000 ball park leaning towards the venza
Love to see Venza making the list.
I am very surprised it made it to number 3.. above lexus. Glad someone mentioned it. 4 months with my limited.. 😊
I’ve been waiting for my Venza for 4 months. There are dealer add ons but I am fine with that to replace my 2007 Lexus rx 350
Venda is very nice, but not much of a trunk, and that infotainment system is a mess
Venza should've been the #1.
how ab tucson hybrid? is it same rank as sportage hybrid?
It's not a no brainer to me. The RAV4 is a great car but it is about $6,000 more than the Corolla Cross and it is due for a re-style soon. The Cross is a new design. Plus the Corolla Cross has the most recent hybrid design and the RAV4 still uses the old design. The Cross is slightly smaller and more maneuverable and easier to park but still has plenty of interior cargo room.
What about Hyundai Hybrid SUV?
I have a Toyota Rav 4 on a lease and it is up and I was wanting to get a Hybrid Toyota Rav 4 and I feel much more confident with that decision after watching your video. Thank you.
Last year we looked at a Rav hybrid limited but the fit and finish wasn’t good, it was uncomfortable and had a lot of road noise. It was subpar to my 11 Rav 4WD Limited.
We then looked at the Venza and fell in love with it. It was awesome, but we couldn’t get it with Tan or brown leather interior.
It only came in either 34 year old depressing, drab, gloomy coffin like boring Gray or Black.
We settled on a Forester Touring with Saddle Brown interior.
Informative remarks on the RAV4!🤔
Yes the RAV4 fit and finish is subpar and also loud as hell.
So you didn't go for the amazing Venza because of some stupid interior colour (easily fixable with some little money)?!?... Wow!!!
@@codincoman9019 When I’m spending $40K for a vehicle I shouldn’t have to pay an additional $3-5K for new carpet and leather upholstery and door inserts.
I remember when you could order any color combinations that you wanted. After all the automotive manufacturers use to want to please their “Valued Customers” as individuals, not as a herd of cattle.
Every automaker since 1990 has decided that everyone on the planet wants gloomy, depressing, bland, boring, outdated Gray or Black interior colors as standard.
80% of automobiles manufactured from 1990-1995 were White with Gray interior.
That was great almost 35 years ago but sucks now.
It’s like Henry Ford said, You can have any color you want as long as it’s Black.
What's a Venza??... Really. 🥺😏🤗😅😃
It is high time all the reviewers start mentioning the wait times of these cars in their reviews...🤦🏻♂️
And the fact that dealers are going to screw you over even more than usual.
Or buy such cars second-hand when you find an excellent deal.
Like I bought my Lexus UX 250h F Sport @ 1989km with 34% discount vs. List price 4 years ago. Excellent mpg, discreet luxury and 0 issues.
@@codincoman9019 Way to go!
damm i already ordered kia sorento. hope it will work. THanks for the video
One can always cancel an order, and walkaway.
I’m driving a 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid and I’m really not in love with the car. The driver’s seat is not as comfortable as other cars I’ve had in the past. I love the gas mileage and that’s about it. If buying a new car all over again I probably would go for the Toyota Grand Hylander Hybrid since I’m an Uber driver and I need a bigger vehicle.
Tbh I’m kinda debating on Kia Sportage. The tech, value, power and overall value is perfection. The only thing holding me back is the long term reliability. But we are very convinced
We bought an ex prestige hybrid a few weeks ago and really do like it. It's a bit quirky but we are still getting used to it.
24 crv or rav4? Better pick I should go with? Which is more roomier
My wife and bought a 2005 Honda CRV EX-L sold that bought a 2015 Honda CRV EX-L well it’s time to buy a new vehicle we tested a 2024 Honda CRV hybrid touring 2024 Toyota rav4 hybrid limited and a 2024 Toyota Venza hybrid Limited . Even though we have been a Honda household for 20 years where leaning towards the Venza .
I like The Toyota Highlander Hybrid
when i will work in usa i will definetely get a kia or a toyota corolla to save on money as much as i can
The price for RAV4 is much higher than you indicated, dealer is adding 15000 to the price due to the high demands
not in Canada. Got my 23 Ltd Hybrid for MSRP
It spends on the geography, I got an RAV4 XLE hybrid at MSPR in the U.S, however, I waited over 14 months, I love it, it’s smooth and quiet.
Go to different dealer
I agree. In terms of price ( very important as vehicles are NOT an Investment), proven reliability, the Toyota RAV4 is the one for most of us.
I disagree. Try the Venza. That should be the #1. Close to Lexus quality for Toyota price.
The rav4 hybrid is the one I want.
But but we want an updated interior
@@engimo5253. Mid 2024 will be the 6th generation RAV4. A major step up apparently.
I'm looking at SUV hybrids right now. Consumer reports did not rate the RAV4 as high as I would have thought. The three top vehicles were the Subaru, Honda, and Hyundai.
@@ronraskind Apart from that, which ones do you like personally.
In hybrids there are only 3 important brands: Toyota / Lexus and Honda. The rest are followers, far less reliable. Kia/Hyundai? - do not buy!
need help to buy a car right now. either RV4 hybrid or Corolla Cross hybrid. dealers mark up price for used SUV. thanks
Right now?!? I hope you did buy a second-hand hybrid from Toyota / Lexus.
no Acura??
Can we get the specs for all cars and not just some
Rav4 is noisy and does not come with parking sensors.
Why do I need a hybrid when the majors of miles driven is highway?
We test drove the Rav4 Hybrid and the road noise was UNBEARABLE! Major deal breaker! I wonder if the Prime is quieter?
I will go with the Venza because it’s a HYBRID between TOYOTA and LEXUS.
WARNING! Lexus NX350H requires premium gas. Oxymoronic for a hybrid!
If anyone needs me to test, review, record 📝 on any of these hybrid SUV’s 🚙 out
lmk 🧐I’d be happy to be of service 😅
the honda is like $40,000 and the best they could do is an ipad display, the 2024 prius has a ipad display and that's like $30,000.
Love your videos but I would never buy a Ford
Second this. Absolute garbage engines built to self destruct before 100k. Never again
@@over1498I’d never buy a Kia…or a ford
Hummm I have a ford c max hybrid 150k not a single issue. Still averaging 38mpg
His and hers brand new Ford focus 2013, the minute we drove them off the lot, every single recall Ford could think of, we got them, on both cars!!!! Absolute garbage. One already died!!
Fords are unreliable! Therefore crap! Thank you.
Just a note , we have a 2023 RAV4 HYBRID , You did not note that the hybrid RAV4 has a dugusting loud warning reverse noise when backing up from your garage. It needs a recall for noise. I would not buy one for that reason, hope I can help somebody. At least ask for a demo on the noise and stand near the grill. It was a good Hybrid but not now. TOYOTA line up all need a test before buying. DUGUSTING LOUD is what it is do not drink the sales koolaid.. TEST REVERSE WARNING SYSTEM Thank you. The line up are not all the same..
What about Nissan X-Trail?
Very curious: why didn’t the Lexus 250H make the list?
Did you refer to the excellent UX?
@@codincoman9019 yes I did! Oops typo.
I totally disagree with Ford unreliable vehicles! Kia, although a good brand does not have the same reliability is a Toyota Lexus.
My #1 is Prius 2023
#2 RAV 4 Prime
#3 Lexus NX450+
Prius is not an SUV.
Toyota pay for this ?
I have a 22 Hyundai Tucson Limited (top), which I really love, BUT i just wish it was far more fuel efficient (like 40MPG) and powerful (like 275HP)!
Since, by 2025, both the Rav4 and Tucson should have a remodel, I'd get one of those which should have those two wants... Toyota would need to add a turbo, tho.
I do want a PHEV full loaded tho at around $42k!
You can get all that without turbo charge engine. The rav4 prime has 302hp and 0-60 in 5.5 seconds for about $44k.
RAV4 interior feels cheap and cabin is loud
No Kia Niro?
Are you not aware of the problems with the RAV4?
It has corrosion issues with it's electrical cables leading to the rear motors.
Not anymore.
@@codincoman9019
For all the other cars on your list, you take into account their history of reliability. For the RAV4, you totally ignore it and don't even mention the problem, and rank it as if it had no issues.
@@RedRider1600 Thank you for reading my list. Yep, I would never buy a RAV4. However, you made some wrong assumptions about how I take (or not) different issues into consideration. Do you know me? - because I do not know you. My comment didn't touch you, it merely stated a fact. Still, I am always eager to learn new things - thus, can you please let me know other known issues with the hybrid RAV4?
@@codincoman9019
I don't need to know you.
I only know your video, and I'm judging it based purely on that.
You were either knowingly biased in favor of the RAV4, or you were ignorant, and didn't know the chronic problems it was having.
My guess is, you were just ignorant and didn't know what you were talking about, and too proud or too arrogant to admit you were ignorant and wrong.
Best honda crv
Seems like they should not need fuel because friction heat from hydraulics and air intake could make a combustion engine or carburetor work without fuel so it can recharge battery simultaneously via mechanical kinetic energy of car in motion.
Do you know how the (impossible) perpetuum mobile is defined?
@@codincoman9019 you used latin instead of saying perpetual motion..so you're euro or pompous, possibly both. Law is functional understanding, which evolves with technology. You guys treat it like inexorable reality...and humans would still exclusively ride horses if that mentality won.
I have a ford and I hate it I have ford escape titanium been in the shop more than I’ve driven it
Lexus ruined the front grille
Looks like a squished chain link fence.
Looking for 2024, not 2023.
I would never buy any Kia for one just for service schedule you are looking for weeks away because they have limited service area .my car a sorento just few hundred miles already experiencing problems loose of power when going uphill the engine rev louder than my music when use windshield wiper the smell could be felt very strong they have very poor vent system sudden acceleration lots of engine hesitation and all of these issues were told as normal for Kia .
Toyota #1. Topgun. 🏆
Excited to see the all new redesign RAV4 in 2024. Improvement areas are 1) road noise 2) infotainment
Venza is the sleeper winner here folks. Solid #3 or even #2 pick. ✅
Honda CRV insanely expensive and poor value for the money. It’s DOUBLED in price in only a few years! 👎🏼
Every SUV on this list looks incredibly boring and dull. 😞
Is your quoted fuel numbers combined? 🤔
Honda CR-V poor interior cause of damage 🙄
@@user-dj4gh4tn8l CRV interior is incredibly well done 👍. 💯
You missed the best Hybrid SUV of 2023....Hyundai Tucson hybrid 😮
I have 3 family members that drive or drove HYUNDIA TUCSON different years and they found out that the 100k warranty doesn’t mean SHIT , from transmission to AC and engine whining noise BEWARE
Most reliable SUV is so hard to buy you end up buying something from list 3-10.
Where is Mercedes Benz?
Ford Escape over a Sportage? I don't think so... I understand your reasoning about it being a newer system with Kia, but come on...
In fact both the unreliable Kia/Hyundai and Ford shouldn't be on the list.
👍🙏
Don’t buy kia my Kia was In Kia dealer for 3months waiting on parts after paying 3,000 for clutch after paying $700 month on payments I trade in for RAV4 so much better. Kia could fix my kia niro plung in hybrid Toyota is so much better and kia cloud get me in for oil change always booked up 3months out not good for a driver
How come you never include Nissan e-powers, they have very impressive fuel economy and interior far better than Toyota
