I’m so over internet preachers! They make the body of Christ look so dysfunctional it’s just annoying at this point
agreed!
Paul complained about the early church in the same way when they were divided saying they were followers of Paul or Apollos, or Jesus. They could not accept advanced teachings of Paul because they were worldly and divided. Just like today.
The body of Christ is dysfunctional. Jesus came to save the sick, not the well. There are going to be a lot of sick people in the church with problems.
I agree with you 100% . Me and my brother figured this out but you are better at wording it I sent this video to him. I have always been weirded out when I heard people in the church do tongues and it didn't feel genuine. We live in a time where tongues are no longer needed most people speak English now and also have interpreters for other languages and the word is basically everywhere now so it's not needed. God is a God of order.
where is your biblical basis for that "We live in a time where tongues are no longer needed most people speak English now". Alot(not most) of people have been exposed to English but that doesn't mean they can effectively communicate in english.
Tongues were given for a specific reason at pentacost, when people in church are supposedly doing tongues no one understands them not even themselves. Tell me what purpose is their for that other than getting attention for yourself?

I'm so tired of the subject of tongues, why can't we just teach people how to live for God. If a person doesn't believe in speaking in tongues then don't, if you believe in speaking in tongues go ahead. Jesus will let you know whether it's right or wrong when you see him. This is conversation is so tiring. Can we go on unto to perfection ask Paul said.
That's all fine and dandy, but the majority of tongue speakers treat those that don't at best as second class citizens and at worst, unsaved. It's heretical. And as a Christian you are obligated to speak against that behavior. Asking Christians to not correct false teaching, sin, etc until they see Jesus (in death) is not love and therefore not of God.
@@enlightenedone1633 A lot of what you say is true; but Cessassionsts who are against tongues make it seem like (most) Charismatics are ignorant people who don't know how to Read the Bible, or understand it, or don't love Jesus but only the stuff He gives, etc....

@@andrewmbaba7608 I agree somewhat. But a couple things must happen for that to be an option. First, charismatics must stop preaching that if you don't speak in tongues, you are not saved. @@christoprighteous8199If you don’t fully understand best you hold your peace! The first year I was filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. I can’t describe the feeling of the Holy Spirit completely saturating me”(liquid love mixed with power is the best description) me, and my best friend as teenagers had the key to the church we went there before the beginning of Friday night service we both wanted to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and we were just praising the Lord and praying, long story short after I got completely filled service goes by, and the preacher comes up to preach. He said the name Jesus, one time, and the Holy Spirit in me, just exploded inside..bearing witness to just that name, and I was just praising God, and worshiping him instantly, when the name Jesus was spoken. As a 17-year-old having the key to the church, I would go after school by myself and just pray and praise. As the Lord is my witness, I heard the sound of a rushing mighty wind numerous times when I would go pray…. that too many times to count it happened so often that I thought everybody experienced it. Come to realize I’ve never met anybody who’s experienced it… and I’m 57 years old. Still as a young person I was on a fast, no food no water for like two days inside the church I was speaking in tongues. It got louder and louder and louder into a booming voice, and I felt it then all of a sudden the interpretation came from me in English and it was a scripture. I can tell there is a heavenly prayer language, and there is also the ability to speak in another language that you never learned. I am aware of that the Holy Spirit can, and will do both. The day of Pentecost bears out speaking in a natural earthly language that they didn’t know.

Growing up Pentecostal as kids we knew the adults tongues verbatim and most sounded the same or extremely similar. They never changed, so, that says to me for 50 years they've been given the same word in tongues beginning with "thus saith they lord"! Every now and then there was someone there to interpret, but most of the time no one was there to interpret the tongue.
You don't have to interpret because you are not speaking to men but to God.1cor14:2For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
When the apostles went around laying their hands on believers and they received the Holy Spirit and they and they spoke in tongues, were there interpreters there for any of them? No it was not even mentioned. The only reason Paul said there should be an interpreter was because the church of Corinth was having a problem with disorderly worship. People were probably speaking in tongues over the preacher and those who prophesied. I bet that never happened at your church.
If you are speaking in tongues in a group setting you should have an interpreter because you are speaking to the group. Otherwise, it is pointless to the others because it did not edify anyone. You do not need an interpreter if you are alone. Corinthians 14:27-28 states that there should be 2 or 3 and one should be able to interpret otherwise keep quiet.
Amen brother, not done yet with the video, but really Bible based, which is what we need. God bless you and your ministry

@jadeshenellexox they knew in part and prophesied in part because they only had a partial cannon. Perfect means complete. It's in the neuter tense, not masculine. In each instance the first thing that happened when they recieved the Holy Spirit was that they spoke in tongues.

Why no one ever speaks about how there needs to be interpretation while this is happening based on the instruction that was given clear as day ? By the way I have the gift of tongues it’s not for display of my power . It’s for my spirit man’s edification
It is not for mans edification. He who speaks in a tongue, does not speak to men but to God, no one understands what he says, he speaks mysteries to God. The speaker does not even know what he says. Amen, I had a similar experience. It is indeed real, and just because Cory does not have this gift, he should NOT say that it is not real.
I remember when I received the gift of speaking in tongues .
And today I could be sitting listening to the word and when I'm touched by the word that is being spoken in my mind and my heart goes up to my creator, YAHUAH ALLUAH, inwardly I began to pray in my regular language and inside quietly as I'm meditating my heavenly language begins to take over and speak directly to him in a language I don't know .
But I do know RUACH Hakodesh that I am praying to my intimately HEAVENLY FATHER YAHUAH ALLUAH IN A LANGUAGE that is powerful an intimate that I don't know or have not learned it except by The RUACH HAKODESH praying in my belly to my FATHER YAHUAH ALLUAH directly!
No one else can you hear me I'm speaking in my belly out of my chest out of my being silently inside of me welled up to my CREATOR AND RESEEMER.
What I can tell you is I didn't plan it I wasn't trying to impress anybody. I was just meditating on the word and commuting intimately with my HEAVENLY FATHER !
In that moment, I instantly knew that he had imparted validation and truth of the word that I was eating in my spirit and I was praising him for it and receiving it as revelation invalidation of HIS WORD becoming alive with understanding and validation in my inside of me. We were communing over the word coming alive in my understanding . Now that could have been out loud, or that could have been silently. And it was for my own edification in a private moment.
If he wanted me to say it out loud I could have but this was private bursting inside of me while speaking intimately as his revelation and validation of that word burst in my spirit my spirit began to speak to him in my heavenly language.
YAHUAH ALLUAH says we are HIS vessel and we are HIS workmanship for HIS GLORY!! HALLELUYAH GLORY TO THE KING HE REIGNS in us.
Just as he did in the book of Acts at Pentecost pouring OUT HIS RUACH HAKODESH upon all flesh.
What I do know is I didn't decide to make it happen while I was praying in English.
Then my prayer changed and burst out in my Heavenly language . Just at the point the Revelation knowledge of what I was reag in the scriptures exploded inside my understanding. All praises to YAHUAH ALLUAH!! HALLELUYAH!

VERY thankful for this video and your explanations! I have a theory that the reason that SO many Christians claim that you aren't saved or filled with the Spirit unless you have the gift of tongues, is because it's a way of them gate-keeping, and arrogantly at that.
But no where in the bible does it say that you are not a christian if you do not have the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Don't believe every word you hear from "So many Christians" believe the word.Acts19:2and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied.Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. The men in this scripture were saved and baptized by water. They were no less "saved" than anyone else. They were only lacking the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Hello how are you? One quick question, isn’t speaking in tongue’s is as the spirit gives utterances not of our own will but by God’s will?
I so agree, as the Holy Spirit gives utterance.
God bless u for sharing truth
I find what I am about to share ironic, humorous, and uplifting: Corey claims he USE TO speak in tongues, but now he doesn't. I believe when he thought he was speaking in tongues, as in the so-called private prayer language, he was only speaking gibberish. However, now that he says that he DOES NOT speak in tongues, I believe he does, two authentic languages to be exact: English and Greek, AND he interprets (or explains LOL) so that we (the church) can be edified. He might not have received the Greek tongue as a spiritual gift, but Corey can legitimately say he now speaks in tongues (languages).
Greetings. I was clear. You missed it. I am sticking solely with scripture (2Timothy 3:16-17), not "someone's letter from pastor Philemon." The scriptures are totally sufficient for me to be guided in living right (righteousness) before God.

The Greek word Glossolalia means language. Baa Baa Yaa Yaa is not a language Sid Roth.
In the Acts of the Apostle's scripture said people heard other people speak in their native language.
Ethiopian spoke Ethiopian
Hebrews spoke Hebrew
Egyptian spoke Egyptian
That's what I means each man spoke in his own language.
Question, if everyone in the church speak English why would you not speak English.
Some want fireworks, signs and wonders, scripture seems to not be enough, they want to seem heavy. Amen
Some people are looking for a "deeper revelation" or "deeper truth." That's why they want to speak in tongues...They think they are "more spiritual" than everybody else😮...
Amen Brother Corey, great exposition on the gift of tongues!
A few thoughts: It seems to me that what Peter does in Acts 2 is Prophesy rather than provide interpretation. I firmly believe there is a reason specific English words are chosen over others in the English translations we have. Given the context of 1 Corinthians 14, Paul spends a great deal of time emphasizing literally not being able to understand the words being said as opposed to the significance of the gift being utilized. See verse 11 for example. In order to understand what’s being said, someone must translate orally(interpret).
Also, consider in Acts 2 that we are told there are “devout men from every nation under Heaven” present. Yet, when Peter addresses the entire crowd, everyone understands what language he’s speaking. This indicates there was a common language - like English is the common (albeit unofficial) language in North America. This is why no interpretation was needed, the Jews understood what was said in their native language prior to Peter’s sermon. And they understood the common language. (How else were they able to address one another if they each spoke only one language and not also a common language?)
Interpretation isn’t needed for the unbeliever because the tongue is their native language (unbelievers are who the gift is for).
Interpretation is needed for the believer who is a foreigner to the language they are speaking (which is why they cannot be edified without the Interpretation).
Prophesy, as Paul indicates, doesn’t need interpretation when given in the common language. Prophesy is “simply” declaring the very words of God = preaching the gospel(What Peter does in Acts 2). When an unbeliever hears the gospel, they are convicted and converted to believers. Believers are strengthened encouraged/comforted.
There is no greater gift than the gift of eternal life which we receive by hearing the Word about Christ. This is Prophesy…it edifies the church by increasing the number of believers and strengthening the faith of current believers. This is why it is the greater gift.
Amen, just amen
Just wanna say that this video helped confirm for me that some brothers in Christ tried to have me believe. Made it seem as if I didn’t have the Holy Spirit because I didn’t speak in tongues as if my life and who I was now didn’t matter. My transformation didn’t mean anything my discernment didn’t mean anything because I didn’t speak in tongues. Praise the Lord that I stumbled upon this video. Even though I came across it way later but God didn’t let me be deceived even though I lacked knowledge. Thanks Corey.
Good teaching. If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves. In order to be humble you have to submit to God. Our submission starts with our willingness to unlearn lies.
Messiah spoke on how we must worship the Father in Spirit and Truth. Dying daily from self is the process by diligently seeking God's face 🙏
This is absolutely true, people must humble themselves and accept the word of truth and the Holy Spirit and unlearn the lies of Allen Parr. To worship in Spirit, you must be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Acts 19:2and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied.Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. They were baptized by the Holy Spirit. Then they could worship by the Spirit in tongues or with understanding.

I got saved in 71 and at that time I spoke in tongues after that I didn't speak until I was told to pray for a young woman whom I witnessed to and I was told to pray for her in the spirit. Well I went before God in prayer later that day and I reminded him I only spoke in tongues the day I got saved and I would love to have the space to share my experience with the Holy Spirit when I told God that I'm assigned to this young woman to pray for her in the spirit but how can I when I've not prayed in the spirit since that one time. And the Holy Spirit fell on me in the privacy of my living room and I spoke in divers tongues. If I thought of someone the language would change from person to person or events. And I've been doing this since 1996. So I stand on the agreement of if you so desire you will receive.
Here's the thing we're not told what they said is a debatable statement. If a person don't speak in tongues or if a person don't believe in speaking in tongues and somebody else speaks in tongues and believe in speaking in tongues you teach what you teach and you believe what you believe and go on and teach the word of God. If the other person believe in speaking in tongues go on and teach the word of God. Somebody could be right somebody could be wrong but at the end of the day God is the one that has all the answers
Marcus is a charlatan
Very much so! He as enter into the church with a spirit of knocking the gospel and other pastors
Marcus has been preaching the gospel according to Marcus for years and he has amassed a large group of ignorant people following. He has been called out as a false teacher many times over the years and sadly I have seen his ego and pride overtake all sensible biblical correction. He makes his living off CZcams he is not about to loose his supporters by saying he has been misleading them all these years. He has also been called out in his private life on his false teachings of marriage remarriage and fornication. His heart is hardened to correction he needs a lot of prayer.
Yep, I always got an odd feeling hearing him. He is extremely high on himself and even his attitude and voice seem like he's more worried about sounding and acting "cool" than biblical
It’s not our job to judge. You can pray for the man and him being corrected rather than judge him. At the end of the day what is the truth? Are we making assumptions of these people and holding them to perfection? They give their perspective. They are not commanding to do what they do. You still have to go back to scripture and check if what they are saying is true to the Word.

What about Jesus? What did he say? First look at John.mat3:11“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. What did Jesus say about Pentecost.act1:5For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Is the baptism of the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues, Yes the apostles spoke in tongues but what about us? Paul saidActs19:2and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied.Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. So is it gibberish? No it is use by the Spirit speaking mysteries to God that no one understands because it is not spoken to men but God.1cor14:2For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
Iamrich I understand what the scriptures say..but they've been misinterpreted
@@PaulaHJ74 Hard to misinterpret speaking mysteries to God than no one understands. You don't don't understand what the scriptures say because they speak plainly in this case. Hey if you want to reject the Holy Spirit that is fine, but it was not the Holy Spirit that told you not to speak in tongues, why? A kingdom divided cannot stands. The Holy Spirit will not silence the speaker because it is the Holy Spirit that enables us to speak. If the Holy Spirit did not enable you to speak it tongues, then of course, I understand why you believe the way you do. But the Holy Spirit would never tell you not to speak in tongues, Paul makes it clear it is the one speaking that the spirits of the prophet are controlled by the prophet and you control the your ability to speak in tongues. You are badly mistaken. Fortunately, you only miss out on the promise of the Holy Spirit given to us by Jesus and not salvation itself.
@@IAmR1ch So I’ve read a few of your replies here in the comments, and though I don’t particularly disagree with that fact that there is mentioned tongues spoken to God alone from an individual (as there is also clearly tongues that are human languages spoken to non-believers), I am curious after reading your comment here about your thoughts/interpretation of Acts 2:38 which states “And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
These folks clearly were told to be baptized in the name of Jesus (water-baptized in the name of Jesus) for the remission of sins and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
As it stands to reason, they received the Holy Spirit after being water-baptized in the name of Jesus, not via a specific baptism of the Spirit, say as you’ve pointed out here in your shared scripture.
So, I genuinely ask, do you believe one may receive the baptism of the Spirit at the same time of water baptism? That they are separate? Or something else that I’ve failed to mention or haven’t made clear? Doing a deep-dive and am curious to hear your thoughts.
You said as it stands to reason, they received the Holy Spirit after water baptism, not reason, assumption. It says And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.. That does not mean automatically, right after, or 6 days later it was not specified. The only person that was mentioned that they received the Holy Spirit right after water baptism was Jesus mat3:16As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.luk3:21When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was openedand the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
In acts 19:2 Paul said and asked them, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit. This makes a big assumption that it is possible you don't receive the Holy Spirit automatically after believing in Jesus. 19:3So Paul asked, Then what baptism did you receive?” John’s baptism, they replied.Paul said, John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus. On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
This suggests that the Holy Spirit does not come even after baptism, but after laying on of hands. This is supported by by Simon the Sorcerer.acts18:9 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them moneyand said, Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.
Judges3:10The Spirit of the LORD came on him, so that he became Israel’s judge and went to war. The LORD gave Cushan-Rishathaim king of Aram into the hands of Othniel, who overpowered him. The Holy Spirit has been at work since the beginning in the old testament and new. If you do not speak in tongues and or prophesy, you do not have the Holy Spirit, at least it can be argued. But it is also refereed to at the baptism of the Holy Spirit as Paul mentioned in acts19:2. So in answer to your question. It depends, If your view is the Holy Spirit is the same as the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as Paul suggest. Then no. But if you believe the Baptism of the Holy Spirt is a separate event than just plain old receiving the Holy Spirit, most religions believe you receive the Holy Spirit when you receive Jesus Christ and believe. In my case. I accepted Jesus. Later I was baptized and although I wanted to speak in tongues, it was much later. I had to leave my city, go to a revival in another city, which had a group of men who were authorized to lay hands on people to receive the Holy Spirit (obviously Simon the Sorcerer did not have authority to lay on hands and people receive the Holy Spirit) and I received the Holy Spirit at that time. I had people/ministers lay their hands on me in my city but I did not receive the Holy Spirit. So my personal experience shapes what I know, but it may be possible to receive the Holy Spirit after believing, or after baptism, but I have read anything in the bible that supports this. In all cases, the laying on of hands was required, and that too is my own personal experience. But I have heard of people saying, they spoke in tongues after they came up after being baptized. So that may be possible. I did not feel any different after accepting Jesus, I did not feel any different when I was baptized, but when I received the Holy Spirit, I cannot explain my excitement, my joy, my understanding after I received him. I then had no doubts that God and Jesus existed. It was as if God proved Himself to me in such away I have never doubted again. So when I hear other Christians saying they have doubts about God, I ask them if they speak in tongues and they say they don't believe in that and I am sad for them because I have to believe that God would reveal Himself to them as He did to me if only they accept the Holy Spirit. But sadly I think Satan has deceived people into rejecting the Holy Spirit so they they do not have this power and revelation knowledge. But again, that I my experience. (supported by the bible I might add)
Speaking in tongues to trick the devil reminded me of some weird thought I had as a kid that if I didn't immediately say amen after a prayer that the devil could sneak some other words into my prayer. LOL

Tongues are known languages that can be translated by someone else that is present. Tongues were a gift from the Holy Spirit to Jesus' disciples so they could speak to all peoples. I believe that tongues can be spoken now, but not this gibberish that people are spouting.
1Corinth14:2For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. Instead of just making statements, perhaps read what the Word says.
The point you make does most definitely seem like a valid point. I will just post my response.
There is a known tongue and there is a Spiritual tongue. If tongues are only known languages then why would God give them as a gift. You can just learn at home/by yourself at a school or CZcams. And not every Christian is a missionary or someone who will travel to countries to minister the word of God so tongues cannot only be known tongues and an interpreter is needed for the Spiritual tongue because that is not an Earthly language.

Okay here is what I believe in regards to what I have learned from the Bible versus what I see today in this gift of tongues manifestation by the Spirit. If it is a legitimate gift of the Spirit; meaning like on the Day of Pentecost, the Spirit takes control of the vessel for the period making known His manifestation from within His vessel, then it is easy for me to believe that the manifestation is authentic. The scripture says that the Spirit was given them utterance. That means by definition that the Spirit was making them speak; whether one believes they spoke in tongues or other languages, The Spirit was the driver of the vehicle. However when it appears as though the vessel is the one in control; someone going back and forth at will between speaking tongues and speaking English, then it is clear to me that this is not a biblical manifestation of Spirit of God.
When Allen Parr talks about that he is no longer speaking in tongues in a manner as though this is a conscious or chosen decision he makes for himself, it likewise makes the supposed manifestation itself seem lacking in authenticity.
If the servant of God has choices when it comes to the Spirit of God choosing to manifest Himself in His servant, then we have a weird understanding of sovereignty. When God decides He wants to inhabit a bush for it to burn without being consumed, it burns without being consumed. He don't share and He don't ask permission.
Allen Parr has done the same thing that Carlton Pearson did before he died. Just because you can't imagine a good God sending good people to hell. You say there is no hell, and just because Allen Parr Had a bad experience and also Felt pressured into Speaking in fake tongues doesn't Give him a right to teach that there is no such thing as speaking in tongues All of these educated leaders are coming up with their own conclusion and interpretation of what they think the bible should be and this is very sad and also very dangerous 💔💯🙏🏿😪
I’ve always believed that the utterance of words I heard as a child in church was awkward. However, my old Baptist church made me feel like if I didn’t speak with this mumbling I didn’t believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior but I do. And I felt in myself that if God wanted me to speak like that he would cause me to speak like that and me not trying to copy or imitate people. That would be worshipping God falsely and that to me is an insult to God. Don’t be a pretender but worship God in Spirit (emotions of you) and in truth (be honest) because the Holy Spirit knows the truth of your heart. And I believe if you are not being honest with yourself about how you truly feel about God, I’m afraid those dreadful words of “I never knew you,” will be said.

"By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord." 22 Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a signs not for unbelievers but for believers. 23 If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your minds? 24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all, 25 the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, falling on his face, he will worship God and declare that God is really among you.

Every spiritual gift that you see in the Bible are capable today because of THE GIFT of Holy Spirit. He can use any of the gifts as He wills.
Isn’t the verse about the Spirit groaning in line with the fact that all of creation is groaning in anticipation of God’s final redemption of everything? It is another testament to the fact that we have His Holy Spirit with us as our helper until the day of redemption. Amen!
1st off NOBODY AND THIS INCLUDES THE PASTOR, ELDERS ETC, SHOULD TRY TO FORCE ANYONE TO SPEAK IN TONGUES! BECAUSE ONLY THE HOLY SPIRIT MOVING IN SOMEONE CAN MAKE THAT HAPPEN AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED BY AN INTERPRETATION!!! NOT BY THE PERSON SPEAKING IN TONGUES EITHER! EVERY CLIP YOU SHOWED COREY, AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR VIDEO, OF PEOPLE SUPPOSEDLY SPEAKING IN TONGUES, WAS FALSE. AND I'LL TELL YOU HOW YOU CAN TELL IF IT'S REAL TONGUES FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT: THERE CAN BE 2000 MEMBERS IN A CHURCH, WITH PEOPLE COUGHING, BABIES CRYING, BUT AS SOON AS SOMEONE STARTS SPEAKING IN TONGUES (AND IT USUALLY ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE ARE REVERENTLY WORSHIPPING), A HUSH FALLS OVER THE ENTIRE CONGREGATION. BABIES SUDDENLY GO SILENT. EVERYONE GOES SILENT. IT'S UNLIKE ANYTHING I COULD TRULY DO IT JUSTICE WITH WORDS. THEN COMES THE INTERPRETATION. MOST OF THE TIME BY THE PASTOR. SOMETIMES, BY ANOTHER MEMBER. AND THE INTERPRETATION IS ALWAYS A WORD FROM GOD REMINDING US OF WHO HE IS, AND ENCOURAGING US, AND NOTHING IS EVER SAID IN THE INTERPRETATION THAT WE CAN'T FIND IN SCRIPTURE. IT'S SIMPLY GOD REMINDING US OF HIS MIGHT AND THAT HE'S STILL IN CONTROL, ENCOURAGING US TO BE STEADFAST, ETC. BUT I'VE YET TO HEAR AN INTERPRETATION THAT HAS EVER CONTRADICTED THE WORD OF GOD. OR I WOULD HAVE LEFT THAT CHURCH ASAP. THERE IS ORDER WHEN IT'S TRULY THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVING UTTERANCE TO A BELIEVER. PERFECT ORDER. NOT THAT HOT MESS IN THOSE VIDEO CLIPS.
Marcus said himself… it’s the power they seek
Doesn't everyone want to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and have the power of the Holy Spirit? Well maybe not non Christians. Maybe Christian who don't want anything to do with the Holy Spirit.mat3:11.“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.1cor14:2For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
Look at we as believers publicly argue about…
In Acts 2, there are 3 groups of people:
1. The ones speaking in tongues
2. The foreign people
3. The mockers.
Now, is it possible that when the group 3 said "they are drunk" they were talking about the foreign people?
Thats why Peter said "Ye men of Judæa, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15 for these are not drunken, as ye suppose".
Peter did not said we are not drunk, but they are not drunk!
I became saved in 1983 and still a vibrant Christ follower at 70. I received my tongue speaking after that. Still have the one I received. But I also studied Scriptures on this teaching comprehensively. From my own personal education of the practice of tongues here’s what I learned.
1. Speaking in tongues in church during a public gathering should only be done if there is another spirit filled person there who can interprete it. God is more concerned about the understanding of His message clearly for edification of His sheep than speaking in an esoteric language. So if a pastor or any other speaks in tongues but is not followed by a public interpretation then it’s not biblical.
2. The reference of the use of tongues during the Pentecost was that the tongues spoken by the believers were actually languages native to other people’s foreign language who were there at that time. Im Asian American and I can speak 4 languages each completely different in text sound and intonation from the other. That includes in English.
3. When I used my spiritual language I used in the context of my private audience with the Holy Spirit in my prayer closet.
Lately Id rather speak to God in plain language I can understand myself.
4. We test the presence of God in our lives by our words and actions that reflect our consistently faithful obedience to the Word of God at every situation in our daily life. I have lived in the US all 45 years but God remains using me to nurture and support two local native churches in my birth country to this day. Praise Him for giving us the social media like FB where we are able to make His ministries in my island in Asia robust and vibrant. Thats without the use of tongues but actually hands on use of their native languages there which I also understand and speak. Thats the best use of speaking in tongues for them and for me. We clearly understand each other and accomplish things that the Lord promised us we will do greater for Him than what He did.
Serve Christ and any gift he gives you will follow we dwell too much on ehat they are

Where is that in the Bible?

27:00 being someone, that’s a pastor and believes in the gift of tongues. I think one of the most damaging things that surrounds this specific gift is a lack of teaching and knowledge about all the gifts delivered to the people. And when they were in the upper room and acts their hearts were broken, because they had just lost Jesus. They were in a place of desperation and great need of comfort, which is one of the things that the Bible calls, the Holy Spirit, the comforter, and this was prime, Real Estate, touchdown. I think sometimes we focus too much on what the gifts are instead of just drawing close to God, and coming humbly before him, and yielding our flesh, mine, and hearts to the spirit
When it happened to me I didnt sound like anything ive heard before or since ...and it was a overwhelming experience not something I can do at will
In the book of Acts, the people who spoke in tongues on the day of ‘Pentecost’ were the Jews who converted to accepting Jesus Christ. Phillip and the Eunuch, Peter and Cornelius(a gentile) doesn’t mention them speaking in tongues at their conversions. Speaking in tongues means saying about the wonders of God so that those people who didn’t know the ‘regular’ languages used daily at the time could understand what was being said.
Cornelius and his guests did speak in tongues at there conversion in Acts ch.10.
There are only three instances in scripture to where we have accounts of believers recieving the Holy Spirit and what happened the moment that they recieved. In each instance the first thing that happened when they recieved the Holy Spirit is that they spoke in " tongues"(Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19).
Our English word " tongues" is actually singular. It is only pluralized because more that one speaker is speaking it.
Paul calked it the " unknown" tongue " that no man knoweth"( 1Cor.14:2).
If no man knows it then its not a language native to thus world.
@@thetruthchannel349 In Acts ch.19 when Paul encountered the disciples and percieving that something was lacking in their salvation experience he asked them," Have you recieved the Holy Spirit since you believed"?(Acts 19:2). If beliecers recieved the Holy Spirit when they believed then Paul didn't know what he was talking about.
On finding out that they hadn't even heard that there was a Holy Spirit he then asked them," How then were you baptized"?
They said " Johns baptism". Paul said then to them that John said to believe on the one to come after him,Christ Jesus. On hearing this they were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and when Paul layed hands on them they recieved the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues.Paul is following Acts 2:38.
Hiw did Paul know rhat they had recieved the Holy Spirit ? Because they spoke in tongues.
@@robertnieten7259 that’s true, Cornelius and the other gentiles were heard speaking in tongues, and praising God. But, what was the reason for ‘speaking in tongues’ at that moment they received and accepted Jesus Christ? Was speaking in tongues a conformation that they received the Holy Spirit, even though they were praising God too? People today believe and are taught that speaking in tongues is ‘conformation’ that they received the Holy Spirit. When apostle Paul and Silas, Acts 16, were in prison, the Jailer and his household were baptized after they believed, but doesn’t mention them speaking in tongues. And then Paul told the ‘officers’ directly to send a message to the magistrate about his and Silas’s imprisonment and what should be done, but, not, instead, the ‘Jailer’ himself, Paul addressed the officers instead of the jailer. Even though the jailer was the one who personally told Paul and Silas they could leave jail, Paul instead, addressed the officers directly. Even though the jailer gave Paul and Silas good news they were being released, the better news to hear ‘first’ would have been the jailer praising God and by tongues after his conversion. Paul wanted to ‘separate’ the two instances.
@@thetruthchannel349 ok, sounds good.
@@Cornbread-gi6kt There is what is known as The Law Of Repetition in scriptural study that states that the Word will repeat something three times in scripture to;
1) Direct our attention to an important spiritual truth
2) To set a precedent so that the same circumstance mentioned elsewhere in scripture need not be repeated in as much detail.
For instance; in Acts ch.2 after the believers recieved the Holy Spirit and began speaking in " tongues", three times the men in the crowd asked how they were hearing what the believers were saying in their native languages.
The spiritual truth is that the believers were all speaking in the same one spiritual language and those in the crowd were Hearing what they were saying in their individual languages.
The precedent being set is:
1) When a believer recieved the Holy Spirit the first thing that happens is that they speak in " tongues".( Acts ch.10,19)
2) A sign to unbelievers, the men in the crowd.
Lastly, the reason that this one spiritual language is pluralized is because the translators didn't understand what was going on because its a revelation that is revealed to us by the indwelling Holy Spirit.
If anyone tells or takes you into some room and tries to tell you what to say in tongues; or repeat what they say; that person or people are definitely false.
I got the gift of speaking in tongues. It is not something I can control I cannot turn it on at will. It just happens. I don't think people should worry about if someone has it or if they are faking it. It's a gift from God. God knows who is faking it or not. I go to church for God I don't care if others are reading their Bible or praying. I only worry about my relationship with God. I will have to answer to God for my actions. He is not going to ask me about others on the day of judgement.
😂😂😂 You said you shouldn't have been there Marcus because it was "off limits" 😅😅😅
9:23 there is a reference in the Bible of singing in tongues
I been speaking in tongues for abouy 11 years now. I wasnt one of those that was going to play speaking in tongues. It came over me one night at prayer church and i was trying to continue to speak regularly but couldn't. Even til this day, it happens. I think some of you need to draw closer to good your prayer lives and not be so focused on the meaning of a word in Greek alway and some of you might can breakthrough to this not just gift but the evidence of the Holy Ghost. Tongues is not just you praying in somebody else language. But also a heavenly language. But its just like healing and everything else. You must believe to activate God blessing you. I know its real because i don't fake it. Is they're people that fake it of course, just like people fake many things in this world or Christianity. Just because they fake it doesn't mean it isn't real. In order to have a fake anything, it must first be a real. If Corey use to speak in tongues, he either faked it or allowed something that be planted to not believe it anymore.
Agreed. I know many people who are sweetly saved and powerful in the word. They speak in tongues; this guy reminds me of my father - exceptionally well versed in scripture and can teach wonderfully - but lacking in power.

Is this something you do as a private prayer or in the midst of the congregation to hear? If the latter, do you have interpretation of what was said?
Can anyone miraculously “speak in tongues” today, in the biblical sense? Absolutely not! Since no one can speak in tongues in the biblical sense, then obviously what people who claim they can are doing something other than biblical tongue speaking. Therefore, should we encourage anyone who thinks he can speak in tongues to go ahead and do so anyway? The answer is NO!
OMG after a few hours at 15 yrs old I just started mumbling so I could go.
And the gift's of the spirit is what? Are we guaranteed to receive how many?
In the very beginning of Allen’s Par’s video he literally says he never even spoke in tongues but faked it because he felt social pressure lol. I grew up around it, never had the audacity to try to fake it. I was 18, moving out of the house, my father anointed me and prayed over me, I began speaking in tongues.
14:1-3- “Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.

For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.”
Most Charismatics I know concentrate more in the gifts of the holy spirit, than in the power of the holy spirit to fight sin and sanctify you. I know, because I was one. Nowhere in the Bible do people just start babbling and then claim that God spoke to them, or through them, but they somehow don't know what the message was. It's a great excuse to just say, "it was a message for me and no one else". In the Bible where people spoke tongues, it was not a bunch of babbling, it was real languages. When you bring in the sudden laughter and shaking, it only gets more weird.
What many calls tongues these days is all confusion. I hate it so much. “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace..” 1 Corinthians 14:33. The babbling noise is not of God.
It is not babbling, it is mysteries spoken to God from the Holy Spirit though his servants who have been baptized by the Holy Spirit 1cor14-2For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.

Mid acts to Philemon
Hebrews-Revelation

Allen IS a false teacher, regardless of what you're feelings tell you. He teaches against the law of God. According to Deuteronomy and Isaiah, that alone makes him a deceiver. I wish "Christians" would stop trying to use their feelings as the measuring stick and use the Bible as the measuring stick. Professing Christians have theological differences because they subscribe to the delusion that they can God a liar!
Everyone is indwelt and sealed by the Spirit. However, we are not filled all the time, as filling has to do with whether we are submitted to God. When we are submitted, we are able to be led by the Spirit. Being filled does not guarantee a believer will speak in tongues, as we know the Spirit gives gifts as He wills. We know that each person has unique giftings. Our gifts are given to accomplish God’s purposes and are not given to tear people down. They are for proclaiming the Gospel, and for building up a believer, even if in the moment a person needs to hear hard truth. As I have said, I don’t speak in tongues, but I know trusted brothers and sisters who speak in tongues. But, I am still not sure of the purpose of it in a prayer time/small group setting.
