Corey is wrong on tongues, scripture clearly teaches that a form of tongues exists that is for man to God and not for man to man.
1 Cor 14:2 “For one who speaks in a tongue *speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him,* but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.”
Everyone understood the tongues used in Acts, each in their own language. This form of tongues mentioned in Corinthians none can understand, except God.

    • @sganet_
      @sganet_ Před 3 měsíci +2

@@catholictruth102Yeah you are really twisting the scripture here. When it’s not translated, you are speaking mysteries, you are speaking into the air, and unbelievers who hear you think you are crazy. Only you and God understand what it is that you are saying. Never does it say that this is a private prayer language, that we are instructed to practice this, or is there any examples of anyone practicing this.
When Paul says I speak in tongues more than all of you, the only assumption you can make based on context, is that he was using it correctly. Which makes sense as he is traveling to multiple regions spreading gospel and founding churches, and gift of tongue would be used according to how he said they would be used earlier.
You have no directives, no instructions, and no examples outside of it being used correctly to edify the church body. Stop twisting God’s word to fit your narrative.

    • @catholictruth102
      @catholictruth102 Před 3 měsíci

@@sganet_ That’s called an argument from silence, just because it doesn’t show examples of people practicing it doesn’t mean one isn’t called to practice it. We already know Paul exhorted them to seek after spiritual gifts, and tongues is a spiritual gift.
1 Corinthians 14:1 “Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy”
There needed no “translator” for the tongues in Acts, everyone intrinsically knew what was being said in their own respective language, thus this form of tongues is fundamentally different from the one in Acts. If you think otherwise give me a verse of a “translator” in Acts.
*The tongues from acts:* Acts 2:8 “And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?” _No_ interpreter or translator needed.
*The tongues from Corinthians:* 1 Cor 14:2 “For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.” _No one_ understands without an interpreter, this form of tongues is self-edifying.
1 Cor 14:4 “The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.”
Now if this were a missionary language this would be an absurd thing to say, how can spreading the gospel not build people up? And only build up the one speaking the tongue? Spreading the gospel absolutely does build the church up. Thus this cannot be a missionary language.
If only you and God understand, and the tongue relates to prayer, then it clearly is a prayer language. Further, Paul says he _prays_ in a tongue, not just speaks it.
1 Cor 14:14 “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful.”

This to me was the evidence of receiving the holy ghost. Of course this is what has been taught by the UPC in the 80's. Well and beyond that. So the tongues in which I spoke was what then? And I suppose all the times that I spoke in tongues was just myself? Such a great study. I'm glad I heard this.

    SPEAKING IN TONGUES PART 2
As I flipped through my bible(Holy), I discovered man may want to use KNOWLEDGE (filthy) to explain the word(living- highly spiritual) and may get it very, very WRONG. As I flipped my bible(Holy), I discovered that on the day of Pentecost, the brethren were all in ONE ACCORD(LOVE, FAITH) and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing wind, and filled all the house where they were sitting. Now, if a man of knowledge (filthy), picks up his bible and reads this literally, he will get it very, very WRONG. What does it to be in One accord, sitting down? Okay, this is what it means: a man left his house and told his disciples that he was coming back to them although not in the COMPLETE PHYSICAL REALM, but a realm next to the physical. He will COMFORT them and will manifest himself through them by miracles, signs and wonders. Now, how can he do this if not through his SPIRIT(HOLY GHOST)! Yes, his spirit is called the HOLY GHOST, and the Spirit of the father(Jehovah) is called the HOLY SPIRIT. Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit can never, never be the same. The ghost of a man(Christ) and the Spirit of a man(Jehovah) can never, never be the same. They are one in TERMS of LOVE and only LOVE and not power. Now talking about Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit, it is used interchangeably in the bible but it is the WILL of God at these last days to expose MYSTERIES hid from the FOUNDATION of the WORLD. Although the greatest Mystery is the death and resurrection of the great king(Jesus Christ). Now talking about Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit, even Professors of Theology do not know this, unless if they go online to read books of the writer, or still, read this piece. Now evil spirits and satan(third personalities in the world of darkness) is not the same, likewise Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost can never, never be the same. The Spirit (Holy) of the father (Jehovah) is like a million soldiers of a King(Jehovah). He(Jehovah) gives them order(holy) and they obey. His spirit (holy) is also along the tunnel of hell, to turn souls of men back(from the tunnel) and his Spirit is in the form of BIRD. Now Holy Ghost cannot be in form of bird along the tunnel of hell. The Spirit of a man(Jehovah) is at a REALM to dispute any power(DARKNESS very, very possible. Forces that are neither of light nor of darkness not possible and forces of light(very, very impossible) that will want to RISE above the THRONE of GOD(Jehovah). Now talking about speaking in TONGUES, it is called BAPTISM of the HOLY GHOST. Once a man gives his life to Christ, he is expected to continue running the RACE(heavenly) FERVENTLY until such a man receives most of these gift. One of them is the gift of tongues. Now any man that sits down to learn this gift, has already incurred satanic tongues. He(She) should first and foremost stop speaking, and then go for DELIVERANCE , after which such a person may enter into fasting for God to empty him or her of the evil accumulated (satanic tongues) and for the spirit (Holy Ghost) to give him or her his GIFT(tongues). Now a man(Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Teacher, Pastor) that DOES NOT HAVE THIS GIFT(TONGUES) is the MOST CHEATED MAN on earth. Why? Why? Yes, now if an Apostle(Paul) says that one who speaks, EDIFIES himself. Do you know what it means? Okay, this is what it means, a man that CLAIMS he is a born again and does not yet have the gift of the tongues is LIKE A CAR RUNNING ON A SQUARE TYRES. A CAR running on a square tyres will TRULY GET to its DESTINATION (HEAVEN) but with a lot and alot of STRESS(frustration of continually praying in English, frustration of continually fasting, frustration of...), now one cannot and will not COMPARE A SQUARE TYRES with a ROUNDED TYRES(gift of the tongues). Yes, once such a man has that gift, he will see himself LIVING A RIGHTEOUS and HOLY LIFE with less STRESS, but this exclude such a one being beyond temptation. Such a person could still be tempted and can still(very, very possible) fall into TEMPTATION and still be speaking in tongues. A man of knowledge (filthy) will be PROVOKED why will God not collect such a gift seeing he or she has BACKSLIDED. Yes, God is not man and can never, never be man. Okay, this is the reason why a man that had the gift(tongues) and backslide, God will not collect such a gift:
    1. The person is already a GHOST to the gift(tongues). If any man will be able to explain this, then God will vacate his throne for such a one. Call all Professors of Theology let them try. Now, here is the meaning, if a man(Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Teacher, Pastor) who has the gift of the tongues BACKSLIDE, he will be a GHOST unto speaking in TONGUES. The person is like a man that MARRIES (has been given the gift tongues), and later he decide to go after other women(harlot). If his wife is very, very faithful to him, then the man(husband) is truly a GHOST(false husband) unto the woman. Now the woman cannot or may not know that the husband in question is a GHSOT(false husband) unto her, but the devil knows that the man(husband) is truly a Ghost(false husband). Why? Why? Yes, any man(Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Teacher, Pastor) that sleeps with a woman that is not his wife, has a CLONE(false replication of the inward being) with the devil in the darkest region of darkness. Now what the devil does with his CLONE(false replication), is to keep MANIPULATING such a man at his own will. If he(devil) wants the man to go to the devil's house(club), he will do that. If he wants the man to keep taking LIQUID of INSANITY (alcohol), he will do that. If he wants the man to SLEEP(false) with his maid, he(devil) do that. If he wants the man to ... Now, any man that writes what is written above without the grace of God, will be CHAINED by the devil. Why? Why? Yes, it is a great mystery that a man would be used at this LAST DAYS to expose MYSTERIES of the THID WORLD , when he is still at the FIRST WORLD (EARTH), seeing it is almost twelve O'clock (raptured -spiritually). Now talking about a man that is a GHOST unto tongues before the devil, he is likened to a man(adulterer) who has a wife (virtuous) and still sleeps(commit adultery) with other women. No matter how the man is GIFTED, his TONGUES would never, never EDIFY him seeing he has a clone(false replication of his inward being) with the devil. So once the man is speaking in TONGUES, the devil will be MOCKING him waiting for him to finish his TONGUES, and then continue from where he stops( adultery). Okay, this is what happen when the BRETHREN were in one accord, the spirit of the son(HOLY GHOST) had to manifest himself through them confirming the PROMISE of Christ to them that he will send them a COMFORTER. Now, if anybody on earth speaks in tongues and CLAIMS he is speaking other languages on earth, the devil will not just look at the person as a LUNATIC(evil of evil), but even worst than an ATHEIST. Why? Yes, the devil knows then, it was to SHOW(GLORIFY God) the people that came for WORSHIP at Jerusalem that God is truly ALIVE, and he(HOLY GHOST) can only PROVE that through TONGUES of MEN(LANGUAGES) on the disciples, so that people from various nations could HEAR them speak and give glory to GOD. Yet, even at that, many as at then DOUBTED, signifying the LEVEL of CARNALITY of the worshippers then. But today(LAST DAYS), one cannot speak with tongues of men and CLAIM to be speaking in tongues except such a man will LEARN it through men. And when one learns a language through man, it is not speaking in tongues anymore seeing the effect that it was meant to achieve on the people that came to worship those days yielded RESULT. Yes, as result, the SPIRIT of God(Holy Spirit) used Apostle Peter to preach(Death and Resurrection) unto the people, and the Spirit of God(Holy Spirit) convicted them and they gave thier LIVES to God, and afterwards most of them received the gift of the HOLY GHOST(TONGUES) and the gift of the Holy Spirit (gift of healing, gift of deliverance, words of wisdoms, miracles, interpretation of tongues(gift of God) etc. Now talking about interpretation of tongues, it is only a foolish man that would want one that speak in tongues to also interpret it, when the gift(interpretation) has not been given to him. The tongue given to him is for HIS EDIFICATION. Men should also work(divine) hard, so that they also would speak in tongues and edify themselves instead of depending on others for EDIFICATION. It is finished! It is finished!

Scripture doesn’t actually discuss angels’ languages. But to base an opinion on silence is poor logic. Because the Bible doesn’t say there isn’t time travel or extraterrestrials, do we conclude there is?
Different languages was a judgement upon the human race. Languages require physical bodies, air and the physics of energy. We don’t know how spirits communicate with one another but it’s probably not language.
The “tongues of angels”, in context is obviously hyperbole. That’s intentional exaggeration, for those unfamiliar with it. The Bible has that in other places as well as lots of other non-literal language. But schools don’t teach literature in that fashion anymore.
We have music and poetry but people don’t realize how normal that is biblically speaking.

  • @andrewharris7
    @andrewharris7 Před 2 lety +1

Is it right to speak to God in the church?
Then how is it that many church have a problem with speaking in tongues?
1 Corinthians 14: 2"For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries."
Now from the above scripture we can conclude that he who speaks in an unknown tongue is speaking to God. Correct? That therefore tell me that there is a know tongue and an unknown tongues. An example of this is on the day of Pentecost.
Acts 2: 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Now on the day of Pentecost if we read the scriptures well we would notice that there is two kind of tongues: Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
So there appeared unto them meaning that it came visible unto them, cloven tongues as of fire. Then they were given utterance. What is an utterance? A spoken word or a sound.
Now how do we know that there are types of tongues? There is the unknown tongues and the diversity of tongue.
1 Corinthians 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
Now diversities of tongues are different tongues. These tongues are normally spoken on earth. Then there is the gift to interpret tongues. Interpretation of tongues speaks to both known and unknown tongues. This gift was first demonstrated in Daniel 5.
Now when Peter went to visit Cornelius and he was baptized of the Holy Ghost. This is Peter's record below.
Acts 12: 47 "Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?"
Peter never said they received the gift of tongues when they spake, but he said that they received the Holy Ghost as we.
There is therefore one conclusion and it is through the scriptures that the speaking of unknown tongue is the sign and evidence that once has been filled with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 1: 8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
Mark 16: 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
And this is what Paul said after speaking on the matter of tongues.
1 Corinthians 14: 39 "Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues."
Paul in his teaching never forbit speaking in an unknown tongues, but for the sake of orderly manner in the church that people do so for the edification of the brethren. Paul of all people knew that to forbit someone to speak in tongues is to tell them that they are not allowed to speak to God or edify their spirits.
Many churches have had a misunderstanding of what Paul has been trying to say and therefore many are not baptized in the Holy Ghost. Search the scriptures and not your heart, for your hearts cannot be trusted. Truth is in the scriptures and not yoru hearts.
    Mystery of tongues
Daniel 5:25 And this is the writing that was written, ME'-NE, ME'-NE, TE'-KEL, U-PHAR'-SIN. 26 This is the interpretation of the thing: ME'-NE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. 27 TE'-KEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. 28 PE'-RES; thy kingdom is divided, and the given to the Medes and Persians.
Isaiah 28:11 For with stammering lips and other tongue will he speak to this people.
Isaiah 32:4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammers shall be ready to speak plainly.
Isaiah 33:19 Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than Thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that Thou canst not understand.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
Stammers means that you speak with repetitive pause and repetition and do you realize that is what happens when we speak with tongues?
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
1 Corinthians 14:18 I thank God that I speak with tongues than ye all:
1 Corinthians 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints..

      a. He who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God: With the gift of tongues, the speaker addresses God, not men. Disregard of this principle leads to one of the most significant misunderstandings regarding the gift of tongues - believing tongues is a supernatural communication “man to man” instead of “man to God.”
      i. If we misunderstand this, we misunderstand Acts 2 and think the disciples preached to the crowd in tongues on the day of Pentecost. Instead, they spoke to God and the multi-national crowd overheard their praise to God. Acts 2:11 says, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God. Later, Acts 10:46 describes the hearing of the gift of tongues: they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

In the bible it says (unknown tongues)
    In italics.
The unknown in italics is an addition by translators.
    Should read simply
    In languages

The main purpose that the Holy Spirit wants to do is to bear witness, testify of Jesus.
When speaking in tongues during the Pentecost, the people heard them in their own languages, telling about the mighty works of God.
So, if the purpose of the Holy Spirit is to testify of Jesus, and people receive the gift of tongues from the Holy Spirit, then when the Holy Spirit gives people the ability to speak in other languages, why can’t we trust that it will do what it wants to do, what its purpose is, and testify of Jesus? Why and or how could the Holy Spirit say something so incorrect as “Jesus is accursed?” If the Holy Spirit is what is giving the person the ability to speak in another language, even if the person does not know or understand how to speak in the other language themselves, then why can’t that person trust that the Holy Spirit will testify of Jesus and tell of the mighty works of God? Why must there be a concern about the Holy Spirit saying that “Jesus is accursed,” when it gives someone the ability to speak in another language that they don’t understand?
If the Holy Spirit is giving someone the ability to speak in another language, then aren’t they speaking in the Spirit? And, no one speaking in the Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” As for the people at the Pentecost who heard their own language, could they have heard someone say to them, while speaking in tongues, that “Jesus is accursed?”
Why would speaking in tongues sometimes testify of Jesus and other times say that “Jesus is accursed?” If speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit, then why would using that gift cause someone to speak ill of Jesus instead of glorifying Him?
Sorry, I’m repeating myself, but this is confusing me. Please help me to understand. Thank you.

The point is they weren’t speaking in tongues through the Holy Spirit. They forced it like people do today. Why did they force it? Because they were ranking the gifts in the church and who doesn’t want the best spiritual gift?
Someone ignorantly may have said “Jesus is accursed” while forcing the tongues gift.
I don’t speak another language but if you do imagine hearing someone say “Jesus is accursed” in that language, you would tell him what he said and he’ll say well the Spirit made me say it.

Gino Jennings debates against Muslims are pretty good though. But you make a very good argument for your stance brother

Thank you dear brother in Christ, may God bless you abundantly. I was a big follower of Gino Jennings but something about his teachings just made me very, very uncomfortable. His shouting and boastful ways all about what he does doesn't seem very Godly at all.

At 1:54:19 you say that Paul was saying Tongues only builds up yourself. My question is, how can you build yourself cursing Jesus? If God authors NO CONFUSION why would He allow His Apostle to say we edify ourselves? Why wouldn't the Holy Ghost just say "He that speaketh in an unknown tongue curses himself because God only knows what he's talking about"?
Here's my other question for Bible scholars. Why is it that when you want to prove a point, you only need ONE biblical example for it to be true, but when those who oppose you find one biblical example, y'all say it's not enough because of all the other text?
You all play these games. My position is, let God be God in the life of your brothers and sisters when it's a non essential misunderstanding.
Now if it becomes gross error, step in. Now, if the saints do have the Spirit of God. God's Spirit will not allow us to curse Jesus. We are His children, sometimes children don't know better, but our Father will not let His children fall into mischief and the snare of their soul.

REMEMBER ONLY way to repent and be saved by Christ Acts 11:14-18, Luke 11:9-13 , Zeph 3:9/acts2:4 and John 17:20-26. Just follow only the early church gospel tradition teaching, not different churches ways but Jesus will guide and teach you personally to the end. John 10:1-6,11-16 , Acts 4:12 , 1 John 2:24-25 and John 13:17!
