Mod dev here. For any new players interested in trying the Catalaunian Fields battle: lining up your infantry in a long line with archers behind and cav on the flanks is most effective against the huge cav force the Huns deploy. The largest blob of foes is gonna come from the North-East as that's where half of their armies spawn, but you do get the Goths on that side as well. The Alans and the Franks are on the Western flank but don't count on them.
Or you could play as the Thuringians and see Attila lose just as hard :)

Another tip: don't put your infantry in shield wall formation because, while they may withstand the Hunnic lancers better, they'll be perfect targets for their horse archers! I'd suggest putting your archers in loose formation, too.
I'd also suggest not to wear out your troops too much with counter charges, because the armies just keep coming: remember you have to defeat 4(!!) of them.

I have never played any of these games, but this seems like a lot of fun for people who like to play these types of games. I love learning history, so this intrigued me. I enjoyed it. Keep on with this chaotic campaign, I say.

Needed to deploy further back so you don’t fight alone. The Huns are cav so you get overwhelmed

Thank you. I decided not to go for historical accuracy (because hardly anything is known of pre-medieval European music) but for the right 'feel'. So you'll hear a lot of instruments that absolutely weren't used at this time, most of them weren't even invented yet, but they fit the setting and amplify the immersion in an unfamiliar Dark Age world.
