- What image does your mind conjure when I say the word “pirate?” Surely a ruthless rapscallion? Or an abominable seafaring sailor? Does he have a beard? A cutlass? A peg leg? Well shame on you. Because the king of all the pirates that have sailed the seven seas was actually a queen.
You've heard of Blackbeard. You know the exploits of a feral Jack Sparrow. But there's one pirate Hollywood is too craven to bring to life so we’ve done it for you in: Madame Ching, the 17th century's apex girlboss and boymom.

Well at 35 she managed to strong arm a kingdom and retire ultra rich!! Thats role model material there!!
So can drug dealer and kingpin
At least Clocko gave him his sweater back. I can only get so hard.
This lovely educational video was also a surprising thirst trap.
❤❤ thought I was the only one😅
These videos need a lot more views
Isn’t jack sparrow a fictional character?
And also an adventure comedy?
Maybe that's part of the point.
Before I even watch the video …
Ching Shih/Cheng I Sao, right?
Edit: Just read the whole title. Yup, I was right, of course.
Puppet history did it better.
Britt is the word of the day, all day, every day. 😎
Sounds real interesting thank you for this information
Damn she was crazy ASF omg
Crazy like a fox!
2:01 so much yes
Who's the woman in the thumbnail? She looks very familiar but I can place the name.
This was funny, and also horrible given the history of the subject. Good work folks!
*Nods in puppet history
Yes
YOU CAN'T HAVE TWO WORDS OF THE DAY!!!
....i just found out you can.....
Also of course you have no material possessions for dignity left. And that is why you're going to lose half of infinite nothing
Can you do Grace O’Malley next?
Oh that's why the main characters from the pirates of the caribbean movie have the Asian attire round because that was a reference to her. That's actually pretty interesting😮
Hilarious
She was awesome!
We have Alexander the great Julius Caesar and Genghis Khan. She can definitely be a role model to my daughters any day of the week.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
WHY WOULD YOU UNCOVER YOUR NIPPLES?!?!
Let a woman or a child take control and this is whats gonna happen
To be played by Halle Bailey
That was 70 years ago, lol. When whites still loved to flaunt their exclusiveness
Sadly … yeah, probably. 🙄
@@user-ye4bu6xh4cCleopatra was Macedonian Greek....Meanwhile the real people you're defending being race swapped have documented ethnicities that are not....Halle Bailey. Including the fictional fish too.
Michelle Yeoh
Heard the new Caribbean pirates jack will be played by another black woman
You know, they _would_ do that, too, wouldn't they? Completely ignore Ching Shin, who was a badass who actually really existed, and instead take Jack Sparrow and turn him into a black woman.
Or maybe take Blackbeard and turn him into one? Fuck's sake …
@n0wheregrrl I've been saying this for years, every name brand character.real person will be played by black woman, 1st choice or black man. They've been priming the people for I say decades for this. You complain you just a racist. I don't mind casting for diversity but it's just one race they're pushing
@@n0wheregrrl Blackbeard was played by a Polynesian Jew instead.
Being a Queen doesn't sound like a pirate. Sounds like the antithesis of a pirate.
If she commited adultery then any act after doesn't count. Interesting info but like the guy said, not a role model
Cracked pre-shilling for Disney's new woke Pirate the the Caribbean movie that nobody will watch.
"SEE!" (wipes away tears) "A WOMAN PIRATE IS JUST AS GOOD! NO, EVEN BETTER!" (snot running down face)
I absolutely loathe the (what I call) neo-woke movement with all of the race-flipping and shit like that, but Ching Shih really did exist and really was one of the most successful pirates in history, arguably _the_ most successful.
Unfortunately, we're likelier to get a race-swapped Jack Sparrow than a movie about her.
@@n0wheregrrl Not arguing that she didn't exist. Just typical Cracked/woke timing in dredging up barely connected figures to push back against good taste in fiction.
@@JoveJoved I mean, honestly, I'd really love to see more about Ching Shih, even a movie about her.
… but not made by Hollywood. I don't trust them to do it right. I'd like to see a portrayal that does the historical figure justice, not some overcompensating "girlboss" tripe. So I do kind of get where you're coming from.
@@n0wheregrrl Fair. Asian made film about her with all the over the top shooting.
Too bad they're blackwashing her character
Just because a movie/show is about a female pirate does NOT mean it is about THIS female pirate, unless they share the same name! So, is there a movie/show with a character named Ching Shih who is played by a black actress? No? Then, STFU!
