- A well needed modernisation upgrade for the Clio V6! With all of the upgrades, the car makes a fantastic noise from its Quicksilver exhaust, but we’ve decided that it’s also time to modernise the interior by installing a new Bluetooth stereo system. Let's see how this goes!
First up, we’re taking the car out in London’s traffic as we to Dynamic Sounds to purchase a Sony head unit and some Focal speakers. They’re supplying us with adapters too so this should make the whole install completely plug and play and add the additional functionality to the car.
After what felt like hours of speed bumps and stop/start traffic, we’re back and ready to start stripping the interior of @Shmee150’s Renault. The door speakers are first to be removed, followed by the stereo and then the whole upper dashboard. It's always an anxious moment when you strip a car apart quite this much, but you've got to do, what you've got to do!
Finally it’s time to install the new parts and put everything back together, will we be successful!?

Just installed same speaker system in my transit custom, I was hesitant to fit crossovers and tweeters I put it off aswell, but I couldn’t tell much of a difference of standard, following weekend I did the crossover and tweeters it makes a massive difference fellas!

I can't thinking the sound shop missed a huge advertising opportunity. I was expecting them to come out all enthusiastic and helpful. I suppose they had their reasons but it seemed a bit bathotic.

The Clio V6 is such a great long-term addition to the Shmuseum. Just proves that they don't all have to be Supercars.

I hate waiting a week for a video on this channel. You did a live stream about 6 months ago and it was great to join in and hang. If there isn’t enough content for a video every few days could you look to do a few live streams where we can ask questions, chat and have a look round some of the cars?

Wondering if this adds weight. Or saves weight. newer speakers might have lighter magnets 🤔. Insulation adds maybe 6 to 10lbs. Wanna see it on the scales. Saving weight and giving it the RS treatment would be even cooler. Great Content 👍🏾

The Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 would have better suited the car, period looks with modern functionality, and matching orange lighting in keeping with the clio's illuminated dash. Fancy selling the original stereo if it's in very good condition?

Fair play, boys. Good job in having a bash and you got a result. BT in the car! If there's one thing I hate about working on a car, it's not the oily bits: it's bloody trim and interior plastic crap.

For me IMO the Cleo V6 is the best car ever in the Shmee collection, I do think there is another car I luv more out side the Mclaren F1. It has been a dream car for me for many years, but getting one to Canada and the cost is just out of range for me. Plz do not ever sell this car, unless to me.P.S. If you guys need some to install audio stuff, let me know I would me more then happy to give you guys a hand.

Bluetooth to fm transmitter would have been a simple simple fix. Bit cheap and not as reliable buy you keep the charm of the car you were talking about in the beginning
Question, does adding or modify new cars, does the warranty of the car gets removed completly or can it be combined with the original or is it individual of warranty??
I would imagine the warranty ran out some time ago on an 18 year old car! 😂

So painful watching you two work on cars, but at least you're having a go! ;) Although i think a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 would have been a better choice. Never been a fan of Sony HU's. Always had Alpine or Kenwood back in the days. Also, get some Dynamat in those doors. This also will make a huge difference. Door Skin, Regulator panel and back of door card.

@@markrichards9934 Sure did. Check previous posts. I made plenty of recommendations. (As a current owner!) If you want OEM+ The "Spike" Janspeed is probably the best bet.
If you already get a new head unit get one with car play.
Why didn’t you get a head unit with a motorised screen? Then you could have had sat-nav and much better access to CarPlay.
Are those OE wheels or aftermarket? The totally make the car. Any other wheels and this thing would just be average

19:18 only 2 screws per speaker? It will rattle when some deeper bass is played.
How do you know two screws won’t secure it?
@@markrichards9934 why do you think there are 4 mounting holes on the frame? It has a purpose. Sure the speaker will stay in place with two screws but the sound is rubbish. Same as a loose or flexible door card. No point of having good speakers if the base isn’t rigid.
One small.thing you really need to do. You have xenon headlights. But the ugly "yellow" ish small lights. You can buy the small lights in xenon color. It looks way better. (I dont know how you call those lights in english. In the netherlands we call damm stadslicht. Translated city lights)

I feel your pain. Yesterday I had to go from Chingford to Colindale on to Hayes then Oval and finally to Greenwich. About 35 miles. Travel time 3.5 hours. Then I had to do it back again at 4pm. Travel time 4.5 hours. 8 hours to do 70 miles. Never again.

I would not go cutting up the car just to upgrade the tweeters. It's not worth the small gain in sound quality that you might get.

That car deserves a nice system.. all new proper gauged speaker wires, amplifier's, sub woofer, sub amp... What a sad upgrade... $300.00 bucks what a waste of time and Money
Sony must have gotten better as years ago they were rubbish compared to Alpine. But i know some Alpine stuff is rubbish now.
