    Just great looking truck ,

One of the other trucks my Dad used to have was an Acco 8 wheeler with a UD4 in it (at least I think it was the 4, Might have been the 6???). I remember doing 2 trips from Sydney to Cooktown in that thing in the early 80's. Please please please, can you do a video on that ol' girl at some stage? I will give you a kidney or my first born!! Your choice!! Ha ha! Oh, and I love the exhaust on the V8! Bloody awesome, Steve!! Love it!

I wonder if the 8 wheeler I have is it? There wouldn’t of been to many with those in them. UD5 this one here. I’m going to do one on it mate yes. I’d like to put a decent amount of effort into that. I will need to fix the bottom coolant neck first.
The v8 in this video has a hotdog on either side. I put the cutting wheel through the old single system and once finished it didn’t sound any different. Thanks mate

Hi Steve whats the advantage of having a v8 petrol motor in it mate

Hi Nick. Petrol was a lot cheaper back then and the diesel engines offered in these sized trucks topped around 120hp where the v8 petrol engine in this is upwards of 160hp and more torque, at higher revs though.

Are the butterbox ACCO's as bad for rust as the later cab ACCO's

Hi mate yes they were. There’s a few here that are shot, and 2 that aren’t too bad

@@stevesplacedownunder Old ford F series and ACCO's seem to get bad rust in the roof. They'd be good trucks if they didn't rust like that. Rust in the roof is harder to fix because its easier to set the interior on fire.and its a big job stripping the whole interior.

@@lukey6534 that’s right mate a few old ones here have rotted out in the roof. I guess it depends on what they did and how they were looked after also because I have 2 others the same model and they are okay. I have a ford Louisville and they are rust buckets also
