You guys are not getting the point. Technically the original Super Mario Maker didn't die on June 2019 because for a couple reasons:
1) The Wii U server is still currently running until March 2021.
2) People are actually still creating SMM levels in 2020!

For the first one, my theory is that the hints are the words which are: "The one who watches you hates you". So probably the Angry Sun is watching the player and hates the player.

In my opinion, I say that it pretty much remember Ultimate Custom Night, because of a similliar quote the game has: "The One You Should Not Have Killed".
