You are not your addiction. You can change if you really desire it. I pray that you will achieve your goals and find the happiness that you deserve. Being a drug addict and an ex convict was the result of bad decisions and mistakes, but doesn't make you an inherently bad person as evidenced by you both. 💚💜♥️

Hope the public can give more kindness and understandings to ex offenders. They are not born bad, just that they took the wrong path. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance. Bless both brothers all the best and lead to a better road ahead. Keep your faith within👍

Mr Khung. I read about your case from the Chinese newspapers, and also I read about what happened to your daughter Megan Khung Yu Wai (also from the same article). She was unfortunately killed by her mother and another man. My condolences to you and hope that justice be served to your only child.

I come from a background of addiction as well. I fully am aware of the struggles staying clean and fighting temptations all the time. The road to recovery is never easy.
Addiction is a real illness and must be understood and empathised by the public.
Ask any addict, none of us wants to be an addict. People makes mistakes and this was our mistake. The very first try of substance.
I have been clean for a good while now. Though tempted at times, I am able to fight off the temptation with repeated self reminders to stay clean and live for my family.
I sincerely hope to those who are still dabbling into substances that you too will find your calling too.
You can do it! Have faith in yourself.

I can see the glory of God in the testimonies of these 2 gentleman. The Eurasian uncle has spewed words of wisdom to the young chap and moving forward, I know they’ll touch the hearts and lives of many who are struggling with this addiction.

  • @ragsoh

Not many people will understand your struggles but I think most people will be encouraged by your perseverance. You have only one life to live - make it count. Not everyone is your friend but your family is your closest kin - they want nothing but the best for you. Don't let them down no matter what. When we give in to temptation, it may be a moment of joy but may become a lifetime of pain. As much as I hope to encourage both of you, I am encouraged by your sincerities and willingness to change. May the LORD bless you and keep you.

The Singapore Prison System is one of a few prisons in the world that is setup in such a way where once someone goes in, they will not feel like they can integrate back into society. Be Thankful we have these systems here and as a duty of a citizen, dont go back. Contribute whatever you can to this society, very few will look down on you.
We are known as one of the more accepting nations in the world in terms of someone's past, employers here will still give you a chance if you can prove yourself and make a living for your own good. Dont let go or let this chance go to waste.

Its time our society shoukd never shame people who were once a " drug addict nor called an ex offender". The definition of "addicts" are always associtaed with drugs ,why? I don't get it, because as a human species ,addiction can comes in many form, addicted to overeating, workaholic, alcoholic, shopping addiction and even sex. The root cause of all these problem is always not about the addiction, but rather what causes the addiction, which unfortunately are usually a case of personal issues tyat stems from a dysfunctional family.

The first lie is “We are ex-offenders. We are human too.” That’s an appeal to your emotional centres. To suspend logic & cold hard math risk calculation. Here’s a simpler analogy. An older criminal would trust his daughter with another younger criminal. Nothing you can do change his mind. He will enact violence to ensure the younger criminal gets the message. Why? Speculation. Because with a 24% recidivism rate (go back to prison rate) in Country of Singapore. It is unknown whether the criminals have become good boys good boys, or more nefariously, advanced in skill sets of evading detection, capture, & punishment. 🤷🏻‍♀️ IDK, do you? Local Police have self interest to consider. They cannot ever ever admit incompetence. In politics, the business of organisational budgets, it’s always always better to admit GUILT, rather than admit INCOMPETENCE. Inshallah.
