This is actually very true. I do this automatically sometimes, but it's interesting to think of it so deeply. I think I do it automatically for the stalling factor to throw off someone's timing. Good and original video 👍
Actually this is pretty good, the last use I have for airdodge up is when you almost die to a move. Instead of airdoging left or right and dying earlier, you airdodge up to not die any earlier, yet still get the distance needed as early as possible from a directional airdodge to recover. Good video man :)
Wasn't what I was expecting. I indeed have accidentally airdodged up and didn't get punished for it. Unfortunately I play characters with horrible air acceleration so I can't drift like wolf or ness.
there are 3 layers to this social hierarchy, where the bottom airdodges randomly because theyre bad, and the top airdodges up because its an extra fundamental mixup. you are on level 2, my friend.

i frequently use this when trying to land (without a double jump) against projectiles like blyleth/links/pits arrows. it allows you to stall a little

You should mention how this works only for characters with decen air mobility. Try doing this with luigi and get smackd in the face real hard
