All interactions between me and Apollo that might seem "dangerous" or inappropriate are a result of nearly nine years of living together. It took training, patience and nine years for me to be able to tell apart his actual frustration from his playful frustration, which is when he pretends to be growling while he is actually playing a role. No one else is allowed to interact with him this way, never. Angry, frustrated and growling dogs are not funny, and it's not something to have fun with.

How I do love this video!!!! and Valia's explanations and experiences with Apollo. I remember the video, when he got lost just a few meter away from grandma's home. His behaving in generell and Valia's "reactions" shows us, how a perfect relationship between a domestic animal and a human being can be. Based on respect, common sense and the will to understand, Valia, I love you!!!!

This hits me right in the feelings! My heart dog, Toad, also went from being a puppy to being old and... it was devastating. I lost him to old age 4 years ago and I still dream about him almost every night.

Valia you made me cry at the end because i feel the same about the cat i have since 6 months...she is really complaining all the time and she is hostile to my newer cat who is only 11 months,but i love her so much because she has a good side that she does show sometime.
She is like Apollo,very insecure and very anxious....and she look like a bully if we do not understand how she feel deeply...
Chapter 8 reminded me of the strategy I used with my 3 cats. Although from the same litter, they had very different personalities and one had a warning flag on her vet chart. 😱

My "problem cat" is the best teacher I've ever had -- learning how to listen and communicate and learning my capacity for strength and patience. If I didn't have to find a way to deal with her, I would not have learned anything.

Ok, maybe he is not as cute as your little French bulldog who passed from old age (and she is still in many photos, even in this video), but Apollo has his charm in his own way. And I think Bob Dylan's song, "Forever young" fits here. Some dogs just stay teenagers... 🙂

Apolo,resembles a rodhesian ridgeback.he has a very lean and healthy body. I have a boerboel x presa canario,and he is slightly overweight, I find it very difficult to keep him on the ideal weight.

Lovely story. I have had an Apollo and miss him every day. His name was Bruce. A Rottweiler ass hole. So funny, I never thought about it but yes, he was an ass hole and perfect.

I think you don't understand that Valia is not a rescuer, she makes artistic videos and reflections precisely to promote the animal rescue cause because mediatization is crucial.

Valia does help many animals - and she also makes kind and thoughtful videos too - is she only allowed to do one or the other then?
