Lamborghini is so good at making striking, awesome looking, delirious sounding cars! They're the best and this SV is the beast !
The Murcielago SV will always be my favorite Lambo. But this is still a very special car. Great review Jethro!
+SoCalSupercars lp640
Where I used to live a Russian guy had Murcielago SV, it sounded like a screaming flock of banshees and looked like the devil's own chariot, what more do you want in a super car?
Brilliant looking car. Looking forward to the full review.
One thing I'm a bit worried about is SV coming out early in Aventadors production life. Murcielagos SV version came at the end as a last hoorah making it that much more special. Idk, maybe Lambo is trying to push out as many magnificent mental cars as they can before the ever growing regulations make it impossible. That seems like something Lamborghini would do.
***** Perhaps they're making an even more hardcore track focused version? Or the aventador's successor might be coming sooner than we thought.
Maybe because they made the Huracan so good that it's actually quite close to the Aventador now, they're already working on the successor of the Aventador.
nathaneastmure Remember that Larborghini keeps their cars for 10 years and there is a significant mid-cycle refresh, with the Murcielago there was no SV version for the first iteration only for the LP640 refresh, it's more likely that now they will release an SV version for the Aventador gen 1 as well as for the Aventador gen 2.
what regulations are you talking about?
+HoveringAboveMyself that is extremely possible. because the aventador was such a success, probably they have neared the number of cars they originally wanted to produce. ( 4099 cars)
Looks like the best car to change gears in. The way it pushes you in the seat on each change, and the big dials on the screen, makes each gear change a pleasure.
The next one will be called Lamborghini Inferno, V12 Twinturbocharged for over 1000hp from the factory. Well a man can dream at least...
Omnificuser That name reminds me of GTA too much. Just seems too cheesy for a Lamborghini, and it doesn't roll of the tongue like Aventador.
Omnificuser Cant have that because Ferrari have already built 'The Inferno', it was called the 458!
Omnificuser if Inferno was a bull's name before, it might possibly be called that ... allthough it does sound a bit 'cheap' for a Lamborghini ...
Maybe Infernale? Honestly 1000hp car would need a crazy name after all
M3Conv i see what you did there, is the 458 the inferno because it gets set on fire every time you drive it hard?
Orange is definitely the color for the SV
Luxeee I think it needs to be yellow, just a more shouty colour
ImSJPC GREEN would look outrageous...
Adil Malik If a Lambo isn't green, yellow or orange. It just isn't a Lambo, haha
Dam straight. I really am still hung up over the 2011 Arancio argos color. Best Lambo color IMO.
ImSJPC The red SV looked like pure heaven though
Jaw dropping...
VossenWheels is an understatement
The up shifts are very jerky and aggressive....
Alastair Brown Welcome to Lamborghini :)
Alastair Brown Single clutch
Alastair Brown It's better than no feeling whatsoever like most new cars with double clutch
resellworld I dont really get it(forgive me for my lack of knowledge). But how does the single clutch make it kick so hard as compared to the doubke clutch
Akilesh Menezes I'm no expert, but I think it's because the shifts happen a lot faster. Imagine riding in a Manual/Stick Shift car in the passenger seat. If someone is going fast, and then they press the clutch to change gears, the car will temporarily stop accelerating until they change gears and press the accelerator......which makes you lean forward/jerk depending on how fast you're going.
The single clutch is faster than a Manual/Stick....so if you're in something like a Lambo you'll feel it more, especially since it has so much power to throw you back into the seat.
The Double Clutch already has the next gear engaged so the shift will happen so fast you'll barely notice the car changing gears.
Sorry for the long post, I just couldn't help myself :)
Very well written and presented review, especially for just 1 lap. Thanks Jethro and Evo Team for another awesome video. And what a car the SV is! Those gear shifts look properly brutal as well.
Is this a sign the Aventador's life-cycle is coming to an end?
Christian Van-Ristell yes!
Christian Van-Ristell how the hell are they gonna top it
They stopped production of the murcelago and diabloafter they released the sv version. The still need to build 600 sv so I think it will take another 2 years at least
They were released in 2010 so yes, soon my friend, soon. Give or take a year or two.
Christian Van-Ristell Next one will be hybrid, with KERS, and 850hp, weighting less than the Aventador, with a dual clutch, and with sub 6:55 Nürb lap time.
The adrenaline rush you get, after a lap of riding a beast. Insane
6.59 RING TIME??
WHOA
Right!!! Blew my mind. 6:47 in the Zonda R but that is like a straight care car with no rules.
Raymond Newbill wow i didn't realise it was 12 seconds away from the ultimate, non street legal race car from pagani 8|, insane stuff from lamborghini.
THAT IS IMPRESSIVE MY FRIEND. And I love Porsche but give the AVentador SV 887hp and it would beat the 918 around the ring, The P1 around the ring and the LaFerrari around the ring..
+sugarsaint It is a great achievement since it is about 2 seconds away from the lap time in the Porsche 918!!
+Alwaysbehumble Thats not how it works lol, it would probably destroy the balance of the car.
Omg the exhaust looks shitty
wuchengranschiiet But it sounds like hell. I'd rather have this exhaust with this sound than the Huayra's one (which looks outrageously good but doesn't sound at all).
Kaisuke971 its sounds shitty as +wuchengranschiiet said, probably you never heard Aventador with Capristo or iPE exhaust fitted.
Kaisuke971 the huayra is silent because it has 2 turbochargers, not because of its exhaust system.
George Washingturnt Is the One:1 silent ? IS the P1 silent ? Is the M600 Silent ? Is the 488 GTB silent ? Is the E63S silent ? IS the M5 30 Jähre silent ? Is the M3 F80 silent ?
Do you even know why it's called "Huayra" ? The car's exhaust is designed to let huge turbo noises and deep exhaust note (which is the absolute contrary of the Zonfa). They did it on purpose.
From the inside you have deep V12 sound and turbo whistle. From the outside it doesn't sound (or jus a bit, again the deep V12 note), but the problem is that it's not musical. The Aventador, however, is a sweet piece of Opéra.
Kaisuke971 so... what is your point exactly? yes i heard the interviews they did to Mr. Pagani about what he wanted the huayra to sound like, but the engine's exhaust note of Huayra has been indeed muffled by the turbos a lot, there is no discussion about that.
Turbos make cars quieter, and sure those cars you named are loud but they would be even louder if they didn't have a turbocharger.
Its not like you can just swap exhausts and make a huayra sound like a naturally aspirated v12 or vice versa (it sounds like you are saying that on your first comment).
Gear change looks so jerky.
ahpadt It's because the car is in Corsa mode and it's intentionally programmed to kick you in the back every time it changes gears. It's better in Strada mode but it's still a single clutch gearbox, so it's never gonna be as smooth as a PDK for example.
ahpadt That is the most emotional gear change among the supercar which will strain your neck. An Aventador should be like that.
+ahpadt Actually the gear change is meant to be like this it only does it in Corsa mode which is race mode. Lamborghini's CEO Stephan Winkelmann Says the gear change is an emotional part of the car and wants the driver to know he's in a Lambo....this was introduced in the Murcielago. So yeeeeaaah its supposed to be that way
+ahpadt Its intended to be that way, sort of a feeling of being slammed by a raging Bull from behind each time it up changes :-)
+David Vanno it is not it should feel like a real supercar
Another car, once again italians do it better.
Italian cars are the best for petrolheads: Heritage, Passion, Sound, Smell, Technology, Madness...
Ferrari and Lamborghini are two of the most famous and desired car brands out there and there's a reason: they build their cars all by hand, every man that builds a car, gives something to the car, something like a soul, his soul.
That's a thing that you see, when watching one; just like Aston Martin and Rolls Royce.
Andrew Lewer i would like to think the same... but the truth is they became great when Audi has overtaken Lambo
***** So what? To achive this big dreams you need money.
Audi, and Chrysler and Indians before, only gave the money, in excange, obviously, for some % in revenue.
But from the birth of a new car, through the sketches, first models, portorype and final product, the car it's 100% Italian.
And so is the brand.
Smell? Smell of ... ?
Nik Brudar Of old engines.
Engine Oil, Petrol, Interiors, leather seats, tyres being destroyed under the power of those engines.
Andrew Lewer I absolutely agree! :-)
The Aventador did a 6:59 at the Nurburgring after TWO laps. VW wouldn't let Lamborghini do more so that they wouldn't beat the 918
Stop quoting that rubbish from Motor Trend,it was 'hear say'
It wasn't even close to the 918 that car had passenger seat removed and roll cage and racing slicks
Uncomfortable seat? When I drove one the seat was great. I loved it.
These come with racing sets option
Not the best SV by any means, the Murcielago SV will always be the craziest and best looking one.
ellieisfit15 *cough* Miura SV *cough*
Kaisuke971 you need to get to a doctor with all those coughs
Kaisuke971 Most people struggle to tell the Miura SV from any other Miura.
Hindydog Most people will struggle to tell Aventador SV from any other tuned Aventador.
Kaisuke971 you're right about that, I don't think it looks particularly good, looks shoddy, I'd rather have a Aventador Dragon Edition or Aventador Novitec Torado they look much better and probably sound better.
At 1:26 you'll notice the SV is lifted up by its air lift suspension, if anyone was wondering why the wheel looks out of place.
The wing could use a push back a bit, just so it doesn't look like it's leaning forward but oh my god is that front end good. By connecting the grilles together into one, the nose just looks so much lower! A proper supercar I think.
Can't lie I love the gauge cluster in the thing.
Some people are saying that the SV was released too early and it may be an indication that the Aventador will be dead soon but I don't know how true that is. Lets look back, the SV might be an ending for the Murcielago (released in 2001-SV 2009) but for the other two, the Miura and Diablo, they came out around 5 years into its life and cars were still made after the SV models.
Well done EVO with having Jethro behind the wheel. More Jethro!
So there will be people who will say: "This is not a Lamborghini! It is not falling apart and it is too quick on the track. Classic Lambo's are scary, have insanely much horse power, which you can't use!"
Def. a relief hearing you say it is more than just a wing and stickers. Great job Jethro
1.09. I could look at it forever and ever.....God Damn.
It looks like his neck is going to snap in half, whenever he's changing gears. Those up shifts are too agressive/too brutal for sure.
But isn't that what you want in your £340,000 super car? The feel, the drama and the outright outrageousness? I love what Lamborghini has done.
Pusses like you are why we can't have sinkhe clutch gearboxes
Kaisuke971 people would still complain lol
Szabolcs Gergely Lamborghini have included that feature to help keep the fear of terror when driving, its actually quite a bit safer than the steering wheel (or some other random part) coming off whilst you are driving above 100MPH like in the Lambo's of old.
I'm sure the shifts are ALOT smoother when driving it slowly around town, but get brutal and agressive when you get down on the throttle. Either way I love the racing feel of a shift you can feel all the way down your spine!!!👌💥💥
Supercool! We hope to test a Lamborghini Aventador SV soon!
That is a gorgeous looking car, the aventador looked sick but this is just 1 level above.
What's amazing is that this car kept up to the pace of the mclaren porsche and Ferrari (probably since they most likely did around 6:50-6:59) and the lamborghini doesn't have the electronic hybrid kers system thing like they do.
And the Aventador only has a single clutch gearbox. It's an incredible time.
Thanks Jethro, an excellent video as always, albeit short
It looks as if when he changes gear, he's being hit with a sledgehammer in his back. This car is nuts! Its no daily driver, I can say that much, but its a hell of an insane track weapon!
the sv didn't really do a 6:59 at the ring. it didn't cross the area where it started, only got close. 3-4 seconds should be added to give a representation of what the lap time would really be.
whats with all the people complaining about how violent the shifts are? its Lamborghini's 750 hp ultimate monster, not some big comfy Mercedes or Rolls Royce.
They wanted it to be aggressive and emotional, and that is exactly what people want when they buy a Lamborghini.
Love the sound of a V12 starting up
My favourite car
Good lord.... That looks truly epic!
Great review !
I love those brutal shifts in the Aventador!
Yes, Jethro!!
Badass. Great review!
The only reason why the gear changes are so abrupt is because this has a single clutch automatic unlike the huracan with a dual clutch.
a true super car this SV and greatly improved suspension but the gear shifts are like a slap in the head.a bit silly in times of dual clutch gear box
Sounds like the murcielago. I love that noise!
Wow! What a car!!! It's a shame you only did one lap.
Thanks for the video anyway.
Nice tractor. How Jerky are the gear changes? Ferrari 6.5l v12 is better and so is their gear changes.
One of the best introductions to a car ever made..
The aventador sv is my dream car 🤩
The House of Volkswagen is pumping out one crazy car after another nowadays, I love it!
What is the song they use in the beginning and outro?
i want the door handles and nav system back
the audi buttons and single clutch gearbox is not labo V12 really not good enough but the engine is sweet as it gets
In terms of lap time for your money, better than 918, P1, 650S, etc! Way to go, Lambo! And they've not even gone crazy with the downforce (yet).
Not overly (hybrid) heavy, 4WD, nice V12. Basically what we want, right?
He looks like Dino Brewster from the Need for Speed movie. He's even driving a Lambo like at the end of the movie (though it was an Elemento)
Dino, Dino Bambino!
As one great song writer once said..."JIZZ IN MY PANTSSS"
To be fair, Lambo _is_ about to bring out a crossover, which is pretty much pandering. But it's nice they still have more than 8 cylinders in their supercars.
So the SV version is coming out earlier than the Murcielago did. Maybe they are going to follow the Diablo line up. Aventador GT and Aventador Jota maybe to come?
you know you did something in life when you call an aventador a "normal car"
So whats the point with the superveloce when is making 8.6 sec 0-124mph which is same as the regular aventador
Is there someone that can help me to find the soundtrack of the video???
Durude sandstorm buddy.
Well done for getting a review done on one lap! Car looks edgy on the limit.
Wow, this is going to be the "it" car of 2015. Too bad you only had a lap.
Anybody know what the song is used in the intro?
So are we getting a new V12 Lambo next year? Seems kind of early for an Aventador SV. Aesthetically I prefer the Murci SV. Not feeling the front bumper here at all.
I will always love the 97 towncar
I can't get used to hear "normal Aventador". Sounds kind of offensive to me lmao
Apparently all 600 of the SVs have been sold/ordered. That was quick.
Best looking stock car ive ever seen hands down
Does someone know the track playing at the star of the Video ??
what is the intro/ending song/instrumental????
next one, Lamborghini Aventador HyperVeloce LP 777-4. And you pay only 50 grand more.
The only flaw i can find in this car is the exhaust tips, each one looks like it comes from a rusty old beaten up car. They sure as hell don't sound like it, but unfortunately, they look it. Apart from that this car is perfect!!!!!
lamborghini made the aventador a true lambo with the sv, a lambo is a sledge hammer because there all about the engine and the performance of the engine... when audi reversed the companies philosophy from top speed, acceleration, and handling they really robbed the soul of the brand... that being said having unlimited amounts of power is no excuse for shitty handling, and the lambos have always handled well anyways. but with the aventador sv they're putting the soul back into the brand because thats the lamborghini way of doing things the engine output and performance is the most important piece of the car and everything else is built around it. the madness is back and i love it
This is not the end of Aventador production !!! According to some leaked information Aventador sv roadster is in testing !!
I like this Aventador but that spoiler it seems out of place..
Thanks EVO.
there are two lines in the lamborghini family, the gallardos and the murcielagos. the gallardos were succeeded by the huracans and the murcielagos by the aventador. the next lambo after this will be along the gallardo route.
I Am Black thats is literally what i said lol. They were succeeded by the hurracan and aventador
What will be the next model to Aventador?
Looks good. A lot better than the Murcielago SV, that thing was awful to behold. It'd look even better without that rear spoiler and quad exhaust.
Ok if that aventador sv lp-750 came out the very last year of the aventador the amount of people complaining would go down
Does anybody know the name of the intro track?
Oh man it seems we have a proper Lambo here. Welcome back Lambo, we were expecting you.
anybody know the music in the background at the beginning of the video for the first 1:35 when Jethro was speaking?
my books. i would still prefer reventon/lp670sv over any other lambos. in saying that no hate! SICK CAR!!!
F1 track + Aventador SV
Holy shit, it looks incredible.
That's the Circuit de Catalyna in Spain. He definitely wasnt doing the best at selecting the right gear for the corners. Through one of the hairpins he was in 3rd and should've kept it in 2nd, and through a couple of the S-Turns he was in 2nd and should've been in 3rd but great vid nonetheless!!
I'm really not a fan of this two tone thing that both this and the Speciale have going on. I recon it makes them look cheaper, if it even applies. More like a 'base model', with unpainted bits.
This thing is chaos
Thank you Lamborghini for keeping the perfect ingredients for a supercar!!!
Sincerely, A Gearhead
Probably the most aggressive gear shift I've ever witnessed.
"ONE WORD....INSANE"
Speaking of NURBURGRING lap times the 740hp Naturally Aspirated Lamborghini Aventador SV lapped the Nurburghring in 6:59 which smashes all the 911s times and is only 2 seconds slower than the 887hp Porsche 918 W package. THAT IS IMPRESSIVE MY FRIEND. And I love Porsche but give the AVentador SV 887hp and it would beat the 918 around the ring (13 mile track), The P1 around the ring and the LaFerrari around the ring..
Still one of the best sounding cars ever.
I believe that watching EVO is the best thing to get an idea about any sports car.
Accurate, clear and brief. No bullshit talking.
This is my dream car except in neon green
Jethro could test a fucking VW beetle and still make a heck of a review out of it. Thank you
Well at least my FR-S has exhaust tips
Surprised they dont use a 4 point harness instead of the traditional life taking seatbelt.
Aventadors are the best 👌🏼
Can somebody explain to me why supercar always turn their Electronic Stability Control off? Isn't that the most dangerous thing you could ever do to your car?
