Great presentation. Love the comparison to the real tube hi-gain head... Dark Blood sounds really like a tube hi-gain amp, cool. Antonin is from Czech rep. :)

I personally think for the kind of pedal this is, it sounds pretty good. It's got a built-in gate, the pedal has good tonal variety between the Treble and Doom pots, and it does have that modern metal sound down a lot better than a Metal-Zone would have it. I think the only thing I would change is the hi-lo switch to be something more along the lines of a voice switch, but that's my only nitpick with this pedal on principle. If anything, I think I had more problems with Henning's tuning than the pedal itself.

The one thing I like about this is that it has lots of mids. The 'scooped' sound is abit of 90s phenomenon, most modern metal sounds have lots of mids with only a narrow dip in the low mids and some bands like Mastodon have their whole guitar sound focused on the low mids.

At first I thought "well, that sounds kinda ok cause it's most probably in the low price range". Then I clicked at the Thomann-Link... sorry, but that doesn't sound like a ~200+ pedal, like, at all.

I own this pedal and it's fantastic. Great review but for whatever reason the sound of it in this video just doesn't represent it correctly. Great review though.

sounds really thin, have you tried it in the loop??. that's a way that ola from englund got a thicker tone out of this baby, or perhaps on a slightly driven channel as many do and tighten stuff up.

very bad pedal amongst metal pedals. i hated the buzz when playing in the background. its not the hum or am noise, its the buzz that pedal produces when playing, yuck.

To my mind, the best (of the best) metal pedal is the MXR Fullbore Metal : all the different metal sounds you need, from pantera to metallica, through sepultura and the black ultra-doom death metal (and this one got a TRUE noise gate)... And by the way, the MXR is more affordable than this KH signature pedal... Nice demo at the end but sh***y pedal :-) !

This pedal gargles balls. Sadly, A 25$ Behringer Ultra Metal will shit on it. Want a good high gain pedal? Rev kicks ass, fullbore MXR is wicked and has a built in gate. But does require some effort to dial in. Amptweaker tight metal is great. On a budget: TC Fangs and Behringer Ultra Metal.

I'd love to see this pedal in a shootout with the Angry Charlie & the Friedman pedal. So funny a guy like Kirk with no tone or soul in his playing has helped produce so damned many wonderful pedals!

I have this pedal. Wish I never bought it honestly. It’s like 225$ in us and not great. Eats up 9v batteries quickly (but sounds good with batteries) and very noisy with power supply.. I Use a 30$ pedal I bought off Amazon cuz it sounds much more evil. With the name dark blood, you would think it would be a heavier sound than it really is
