    Pallet forks should be just about everyone's first purchase, IMO.

      Pallet forks are important for your operation, but mine barely get used. Same with my brush cutter. BUY equipment that suits YOUR needs, not someone else's.

      @@ya472 True, but you really can't know that for sure until you own them. When I bought them, I had no idea of the wide range of applications that I am currently using them for. If they (or anything else, for that matter) is sitting unused, sell it.

      @@andrewt248 More importantly, it also depends what someone can afford. My brush mower, I bought used for $450 and it paid for itself in one use. Some of the best money I ever spent was on a grapple and pallet forks for my tractor. They have paid for themselves numerous times. Would love to have a wood chipper on the property now, that could certainly prove to be useful.

  • @fhuber7507
    @fhuber7507 Před 2 lety +2

    Pallet forks are very useful.
    Swapping between pallet forks and bucket is why you want the quick attach on the loader.
    Landscape rake is great for clean-up.
    GET TEETH for the bucket. Preferably an easily removed/attached tooth bar.
    Teeth break up the soil and help the bucket scoop more with less stress on the tractor.

    My most used implements are #1 a straight blade, #2 a brush mower, and #3 a box blade. Other than that I get annoyed with the 3pt and like my pull behind implements.

    • @GeoffreyVonbargen
      @GeoffreyVonbargen Před rokem

      Box blade for grading driveways or do you have other uses?
      I'm seriously thinking about getting a tractor for tilling, snow scraping and maybe I'll get an auger for fencing.
      It's so expensive here to rent something for tilling that I can get an old used tractor for 3-10x the cost. So why not get one for my other needs too. Unfortunately I missed a fantastic buying opportunity due to not fully understanding the tractor I was bidding on at an auction.

    Pallet forks are an extremely underrated attachment. I almost never use them to move pallets. They're a great poor man's grapple and can be used to move just about anything.
    My most fun attachment though has to be my rotary cutter. There's something so satisfying about mowing down thick brush and leaving a (somewhat) clean path behind you.
    Landscape rakes are another very useful tool that you really don't appreciate until you have one.

    You missed the most SIGNIFICANT point, the front axle pivot point, which makes the tractor more unstable as one raises the FEL. It is equivalent to having a single front tire.

    Messick's came through with a set of pallet forks for my BX2680 when my dealer failed to be able to provide them. Like Neal, I think my pallet forks get more use than the loader bucket.
    A wood chipper, a 48" rotary cutter, and a sickle mower or flail mower are definitely on my list. The trouble with stuff like this, the weight for shipping, I'd love to buy from Messick's but the shipping is so high it outweighs the benefits.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c Před 2 lety

      @@MessicksEquip I was going to say that's what most places do. Having something ordered like heavy implements & attachments, and having them shipped to a FedEx hub like you guys did my pallet forks saved quite a bit of money, if I ever order again that's what I'll do...no need to pay for a lift gate charge, I can simply take my trailer over to the FedEx hub and they drop the item right on my trailer, very nice and convenient. I was surprised how quick the pallet forks arrived, I think it was like 6 days after I ordered them and a holiday thrown in the mix, so very quick and I'm in Idaho so pretty much cross country shipment. Have a great weekend.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c Před 2 lety

      Not really. Many people are still waiting on tractors, implements, etc. Some dealers were smart enough to stock pile a lot of inventory prior to the shut downs, but many dealers didn't bother planning ahead...mine definitely didn't, but then again who knew everyone and their dog would go out and buy a sub-compact or compact tractor and a trailer load of attachments/implements LOL. My dealer sold 250 BX series tractors last year that I know of, and they normally sell maybe 100-125 of them a year...supply/demand was so upset they're running all over creating grabbing what inventory they can get their hands on.
      I waited 9 months for the mid mount mower for my BX, never received it and now waiting on a refund check from my dealer....apparently refund checks are backordered as well.

    2:09 where I'm at in Florida people use these to rip pepper trees out of the ground by their roots. I've even seen the larger loaders using a similar attachment to take down huge pine trees. I'm talking 80ft+ trees.

    Stump/spade buckets work magnificently for concrete removal. My stump bucket has definitely taken out more pavement than stumps. Out of all my 20-something attachments, my stump bucket and 4:1 bucket are practically worth their weight in gold.... or diesel fuel, lately.

  • @Rprecision
