- Living with a Lamborghini Huracan evo Spyder over the past few weeks revealed some serious flaws, which has often been the way with Lamborghini supercars. There was still plenty to enjoy, though as you're about to find out. (I should add the seats go further back in the Coupe version of the Huracan, making it more suitable for taller drivers)

I'm not a car fan ........ but that was fascinating 👍
Harry is much better than Doug in some ways. Certainly he is much more serious and focused, and seems to know a lot more about cars. When Doug reviewed the 458 Speciale Aperta, he wasn't able to notice the engine is actually hidden below the practicable roof. He just opened the hood, saw a similar situation to this car (essentials like oil cap) and said "this engine doesn't look as good as other Ferraris". Sometimes he either overly-simplifies things, or just shows ignorance.
And of course, there just happens to be a common Scuderia 16M casually lying around that he can compare it to. :)
That shows that these car reviewers have very little knowledge of the car itself, I could find all the buttons and settings too and tell it in a video if I search long enough.

Being 6'-3" I lost all interest in Huracan's at "It's about 96 CM..."
Being too tall isn't my first obstacle to owning this car...
I like the Evo name, someone should use it as a title for a magazine.

@@KirkLazurus That would make sense, I heard people say the Coupe starts getting iffy past 6 feet tall, and that's mostly due to limited headroom instead of legroom. But even if this is only in the Spyder, legroom this tight in a modern production vehicle is insane, I can hardly believe this car got approved when it prevents half the potential market from sitting inside of it comfortably...a major oversight!
I love the honest review that focuses on actual "drivability".

I’m 6’7” also and couldn’t believe that I could comfortably drive an R53 Mini Cooper S. What other cars did you cross shop before getting the FF?
@@lotsofcurveslover I tried the R8, Jag Ftype, Aston Vantage - all impossibile to drive safely... In general I have to say the best Pick was the 911, very nice position even for tall people. But I wanted emotions and the FF delivered this. Also they got way more affordable after the lusso came out, so I made my pick. And it's really great for extended road trips 😉
The FF is amazing.
Mind if I ask you a personal question: Is the FF your daily car or do you have another one? for short drives for example.
@@onvacation9604 Actually I use it only for fun on weekends, but it could be used easily every day just for driving. As I make a lot of miles on the freeway my daily is a merc S500.

Absolutely fantastic video - as always, from Harry - nearly as good as his Elan video! That exhaust must have seriously deafened passing households! Such fun, but a licence loser with just a 60 mph speed limit. Yes, that V10 (and its trans) needs celebrating. Many many thanks Harry, for such good professional commentary, and editing.

I love that car. But there's no way I would fit. I'm 6'1 and guessing if I ever do buy an exotic? It will have to come from Ferrari.
@crt tft - Harry reports that the legroom in a Huracan Spyder is limited. My experience of a Series 1 is limited legroom, indeed the seats do not adjust, but great fun to drive. Excellent video Harry, thanks.

So the car has no legroom, no automatic lights, directionals that can only be operated while going straight, and a counter-intuitive infotainment center. So many better options at that price.

Sounds like the classic Italian seating position. Short-legged and long-armed.
No. It's so far off it's nothing like that. A Testarossa or the like the classic position. You put the seat back, and you need to stretch your arms. Or you put the seats forward, and your knees are around your ears. The junior Lambos are just on a different level of poor interior design.

Very enjoyable and thorough review. That V10 is still amazing, of all the cars driven on this channel this is one of the ones I'd like to have a spin in, just for that engine/transmission.

The quirks of a Lambo would drive me nuts, until I hear that screaming engine and forget all about it.
There's a difference between quirks and flaws. The seats and seating position in the small Lambos are so poor, it's absolutely intolerable. Drive a Ferrari 488 with carbon seats and you'll experience when an exotic sportscar should feel like.

Finally someone highlights the problem with Lambos and their interior size - it's utterly appalling and unacceptable
It's impossible not to comment on in my view. If I was thinking of buying one, it's the first thing I'd want to know!
I'm astounded that the family influence of Audi didn't resolve this in the newer designs, but the R8 Spyder is exactly the same wrt seat, cabin and luggage space. BTW, choosing the sports seats is a hiding to nothing as well, they may give a little more room but they are *unbearable* after 20mins seat time, quite the most uncomfortable (sports) seats I've ever sat in.
@@harrysgarage I'm a tall guy at 6ft5 so don't expect to fit in all cars, but I can fit in a Z4 so you'd think a lambo would be possible but it's not. Thanks again for mentioning it for us tall folk!

Fabulous review as always. The daft indicators, lights and wipers would drive me mad. The obsession with touch screens is bonkers. I’ve recently changed my new model Audi A6 Avant with 2 central touchscreens for a BMW X4M Competition, and apart from the obvious performance benefits, the accessibility of the climate, nav and stereo settings are so much easier in the BMW with the easy to operate buttons.
Your reviews are so much more about owning and living with a car on a longer term basis, than the track based ones which have little relevance in real life. I trusted your review of the new Vantage so much that I bought one. It’s turned out to be everything you said it would be, and it’s absolutely epic. Keep up the good work.

db are you actually in the market for one? If not your desire for a manual is immaterial. Manual has its place but in a 600-900hp hyper car you need a fast auto/dct. Manual is old technology.

Good luck with that!! The C8 Vette isn’t going to even have that as an option. The chief engineer was quoted as saying it was a “dying business”, meaning manual tranny’s are being phased out. If you want one you will need to buy an older car.

Despite all the issues he quite rightly has with it, you know there's still something special about it when Harry gives that "kid in a candy store" cackle of sheer delight at the very end.
Love to see a road trip with you and Chris Harris in something oddball great (E63s lotus Carlton, etc). Both of you talk with passion, knowledge and desire of great cars that don't have to cost the price of a small semi detached house.
Bottom line is, “It’s a silly car”
