- The world's first mid-engined supercar, the Miura was created by a group of young engineers pushing the boundaries for a road car. It was stunning in 1966 and is still stunning today..

Any youtuber would have used a clickbait title like "I DRIVE A 1.3 MILLION POUNDS LAMBORGHINI ON THE STREETS". Harry doesn't do that, and I'm grateful for that.
Yes, one of his many qualities that makes him so appealing. A genuine, intelligent gentleman.
You don't need clickbait this is better "Lamborghini Miura history and drive review. Mega sound!"
That’s a lot to do with why he’s the best.
Lol so accurate.
Those are kids with low on cash
Hats off to the new owner who let him drive it at 1.3 million
Not really, would you trust Harry? I'd trust Harry.....
Harry's fine, it's everybody else on the road you have to watch.
I was just watching the smoking tire podcast, and one of the guest casually said "I think I am ready to buy a Miura SV".. The silence in the room was hilarious! Rich people don't really think about the price like us peasants, if they did they wouldn't be able to justify spending it
Thinking it was the new owner following in the BMW
and to the insurer...
The only CZcamsr who can do a review of a Lamborghini, while pausing to read off a book. Epic review Harry!
Most of the others struggle to read....
Interesting that harry describes how bob wallace and his team drove the miura all day at 150mph to develop it, but how he (harry) wasnt usually keen on pushing a miura? What the hell was bob doing all day?
This brings wonderful memories of when I was a child, my father had a white SV with all the extras like Britax racing seat belts! The engine noise is pure mechanical music, the body shape is absolutely stunningly beautiful and no car has ever come close to its beauty in my opinion. Great review by the way.
Wow. I am stunned. Even 4 years later. Your dad had a white Miura sv? ??? Life must be good at Andreas's house 🏠 😊
The Miura is still to this day the prettiest supercar ever built.
looks great from every angle but the front.
Amen, and in that color. Oh man.
Why do so many people think its one if them best looking ever? Idk, I was never crazy about it. Personally I think the McLaren F1 is the most timeless design ever!
BOTH are Masterpieces. But the marvelous Miura is the FIRST ever mid-engine road car. More than 30 years before the supra F1. Think about it. Being filthy rich, I'd own both, of course.
I'm surprised other drivers weren't crashing as it went past.
I'm sure the new owner is over the moon that you have reviewed his car so beautifully. Thank you for this.
*Who can seriously dislike Harry's videos ?*
**raises his hand** I HATE his British whines on his trips.
Same thought!

I will never forget when as a young driver in the 70's, I was passed by a Miura... Effortlessly.
TBH, I don't imagine that even the fastest human on Earth would present much of a challenge to a sports car. 🙄
Oh, you mean while you were actually driving another car? Again, no commoners cars, and very few cars of *any* sort in the 70s, would've got within a country mile of a Miura.
Never click so fast on a notification..probably the most beautiful car ever made ❤️
Yeah, any Harry's video is insta-click for me, really.
Robert and Andre both totally.
(This is what top gear should always have been before bbc decided to idiotise it.)
Fairly close. Along with the 250 GTO.
Same here. Miura + Harry Metcalfe = upvote (within seconds)
After the Abarth 205! But it's gorgeous!
The age of this car just blows me away, I can't imagine owning this thing in 1966.
exactly
With a young Gina Lollobrigida by your side
It means you could buy a huge house with the same money spent for the car.
Right!! in 1966, this was light years ahead of everything else except some race cars! And the most gorgeous LOOKING car to this day IN 2019 imo.
@@Virtuoso23 how supercars should be,
I'll never get to drive a Miura but I love them, my favorite Lambo for so many reasons, and watching this gives me a far better idea what it would be like to drive, I was impressed, delighted, smiling from ear to ear, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
When the Miura was unveiled, I must have read Car and Driver's detailed article a hundred times but only today have I learned what this car is all about. Thanks, Harry!
Arguably the most beautiful car ever produced. The Countach's styling is outrageous - but the Miura is stunning. :-)
It is the most beautiful car ever produced, no one can say otherwise and come with a better looking contender
Rover Waters mmmmh... Enzo Ferrari is 't happy.about your statement !!!
The silhouette of the Miura is just jaw-dropping
It is like Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, just decades ahead of the times.
Still the best looking car ever to leave the Lamborghini factory.
For sure pure uncluttered lines it sort of just flows from front to back and forms this automotive masterpiece the modern designers could learn so much from the fellows that went before nowadays o reckon there’s to much emphasis on computer modelling and wind tunnels
ANY factory
It's the best looking car ever to leave any factory.
The most beautiful supercar of all time. In 50 years, there have been many great cars but none have even come close to matching the sheer sinuous perfection of the Miura.
Top car, top guy and top review .... Thank you Harry, you deliver yet again !!
In my book, the most beautiful car ever made!
Got to remember , they made this when we had the mark 1 cortina. Way ahead ofits time .
I agree
Absolutely!
CZcams rarely gets better than a half hour Harry review of a Miura
The best driving video of a Miura! Love the floor hinged pedals and that sweet 12 cylinder motor. The sounds and sensations must be incredible. No modern crap to detract or distract the driver. The Miura was way ahead of the game in design execution. Thank you for the history and the drive sir!
I was born the same year as the Muira. As a child I had a diecast model of one and I was captivated by it’s flowing curves, and the way the rear hinged up to see the engine. I still am! There’s some beautiful cars from other eras, but to me this is the sexiest car ever built.
Me too, the Miura, and, Maserati Bora were my fave die cast model road cars. The Ferrari 330 P4 and Ford GT40 my fave race cars models. Then seeing my toys come to life in films and TV motor sports more or less captured my soul for life. 50+ years later and I’m reduced to the same excited kid of 1970 when these beautiful machines come into view especially the Miura, the sexiest beast of a car ever built IMO. I feel quite privileged to have lived as a kid in that era, finding out later in life that it was the golden age of sports cars on road and track!
Harry it is so nice to see you in action again, and with one of the most beautiful, iconic, important works of automotive art ever conceived. I don’t know how in the world you come by all these opportunities to drive the best cars ever made, but I’m thankful you do. I’ve been reading your articles for a long time and thoroughly enjoyed every one. But I personally have been more influenced by these videos over the last several years (both with Evo and on your own) than I ever was beforehand. Please keep enjoying and sharing as long as you’re able. I will savor every one.

Goosebumps and tears of joy! Thank you so much Harry for doing justice to that beautiful car and the marque :) Absolutely the best Miura review ever!
This guy is giving the best account I’ve ever seen of this legendary car. Very well researched, and demonstrated with an absolutely pristine Miura example. This vid will be in my archive for the ages, for sure.
I owned one of these in the 60's..............Matchbox - I was 6 or 7 and this car blew me away. Still does.
One of my favorites. I will own one someday for sure!
Q
No, you won't.
@@AsinineComment hahaha true
It’s only money. US$1,800,000 for this one. I don’t imagine they’re getting cheaper.
I mean his channel i see pretty high budget super cars so there's probably 50/50 that he can buy this wonderfull masterpiece
The sound of that engine and drivetrain is absolutely awesome 👌
First, thank you for your wonderful reviews, which I think are still among the best you can find.
Of course even Harry cannot possibly know everything... just a little note aside:
Wallace was a test driver, not an engineer, he did not design anything, but he did have a big part in development. The engineers were Paolo Stanzani and Giampaolo Dallara, they designed the chassis, the semi-monocoque, the engine/gearbox layout, Marcello Gandini penned the body (all by himself in a very short time)
All true, bravo
The best one of Harry's to date, helped by the fact it's still my favourite of all time car. Watching Harry drive it and 'being there with him' as if I'm in the passenger seat is the closest I'll ever get to experience the sight and sound of these fine cars.
Your enthusiasm is contagious Harry. What a car. What an owner to let you do a vid. Cheers!
Was born in 63. Was my fav car when i was 6 and still is. Jensen interceptor number 2. Iso grifo 3. Maserati bora 4.
Harry, my favourite episode yet! I absolutely loved the footage from the rear of that lime green Miura ripping through the countryside with a blue sky, and the sound!!!
If cars had names, this Italian beauty could be easily named SOPHIA LAUREN . Harry thanks for this upload !
Loren, please.
Amazing classic car design (and colour) that looked contemporary in 1990s and still looks fresh today (2020). Thanks for the review Harry, you’re a legend.
"Hill start in the Miura, thank you very much" 😂😂😂 great, Harry, just great👌😄😄
Man , you can really hear those gears between the engine and transmission. What a glorious howl!
Amazing being able to see the engine in your rear view window, especially in this day and age of plastic covers and hiding everything.
And so brave, driving someone else's million pound car. :)
Hey Harry! Thank you for your awesome content! I'm a young car enthusiast from #Kenya, living in #Nairobi and your channel is a godsend for guys and gals like me who love cars like these but don't have access to them! Cheers!
Don't worry, none of us in the UK have access to these cars either! (I did once see Harry in his Zonda on a roundabout.)
Lol How true. It's cool you got to see one in the 'wild', out and about though ;)
@@julianevans9548 Our circumstances in Northern California don't rate any better... especially finding anyone loony enough to hand me his keys!!! It seems that I may have seen a Miura in a car show a few years ago but I can't remember for certain. One gets to a point where one's memory becomes just a bit "porous" and some pertinent details slip through the cracks! ;^) In the mean time, we'll just have to thank Harry for doing such a splendid job and keep watching.
That introduction was the most awesome piece of car review ever. This man is waaaaay better than any "star journalist".... Really enjoyed this and what a piece of art.
love these videos , just sit here grinning like a schoolboy , the best content around bar none , thank you Harry
Is this the best car video in the whole of CZcams till date? It feels like it. Absolutely amazing Harry's passion for cars and detailed description of the Miura. Thanks, Harry!
This review really put us in the seat there with Harry. Great feeling for the car with that view through the front windscreen. And great info in Harry's commentary. Awesome Vid!!! THANKS PS- THANK YOU To the Miura Owner too!!!
60s Italy must be awesome, a lot of cars (even race cars) were tested on the road and the police didn't even bother and in fact enjoying them.
it still happens today ;) Lamborghini never had a test track
That is correct. Every Lambo goes ripping around a small town nearby.
In the 60s, in Italy, as in all of Europe, there were no speedlimits. So why should the police interfere?
Its only nowadays that we have become prisoners of nanny states and Big Brothers are watching us
Yeah what a time it should be theez days the cops are pussies
@@phildoc73 Yeah screw speed limits, lets bring back the higher road deaths!
and the cameras go off a few miles from the destination so he can get it singing at 150 mph plus a good bit more. What a glorious piece of automotive history. Nice one Harry. You are a class act.
A newbie here.
I salute you, Monsieur Harry, for your documented films on awesome motorcars. We certainly feel your deep appreciation of those wonderful machines and their technical details. Bella Machinas as our Italian friends would rightly say.
Merci encore Monsieur.
Totally love this car in a way I wasn’t expecting. It seems to have such purpose about it and a great driving experience. Thanks Harry for bringing this car alive and revealing its incredible pedigree.
Harry, best regards to the chap who loaned it out. Brilliant. Cheers
Harry's passion for cars is very very evident. I really enjoy all the nostalgia and in depth reviews of these wonderful cars and accoutrements.
What a magnificent car. As a 10 year old , I had the Corgi model in this colour and I still have it.
Such an impossibly gorgeous shape
thatguy11 I think it's the beard, or maybe his shirt, but you're right. ;-)
Harry you've done it again. You are easily the best on CZcams at this kind of thing. I could have watched this all day long.
And what a car. Absolutely stunning. I had never appreciated the rear view of a Miura quite so much before. It's just beautiful and does not look anything like 50+ years old.
Thank you so much for this. A rubbish day just got a lot better.
Harry, I keep coming back to this video to get a “car fix”. Your reviews are just so classy. It’s going to be a future classic. Thank you.
Literally made Harry speechless. What a car, what a driver, what a video - absolutely stunning.
I wanna cry, thank you thank you harry.

I like how you, unlike Top Gear, give a very historical and informative overview of the vehicles you are reviewing
I have Bentley's, Alfa's, Aston's, Ferrari's and E-Type's in my collection. Intend to add this to it now.
I'm a enthusiastic collector of Vintage Scalextric cars made in the 60's.
Yeah course you have
@user-ht9fr6eh9u - You do know that they are miniature model slot cars?
Another fantastic video from Harry - what can I say - thanks Harry!
Harry, your enthusiasm for this car is infectious. Great video as always!
Yesss. Drive it how it’s meant to be driven 😁. Also the knowledge and attention to detail you have in your reviews is amazing. Well done.
congrats to the new owner and thank you Harry for taking us along for the ride
Lime green with that gorgeous muted mid blue leather. Oh my, that is the stuff of dreams. And that's before you even get to that shape. Incredible!
My number one all-time favourite car! And the perfect colour too! ❤️
Brilliant, Harry has to be my favorite automotive youtuber by far. You can really tell when an actual automotive journalist does a review these days compared to all the vlogers haha.
I saw this very car out on the road today and I just had to relive the magnificent video of it in action. What an experience. Thanks Harry
14:45 'This is a...' presses the accelerator and goes quiet for a bit... That sound was enough to make everyone quiet for a bit. Loving your videos Harry. Gent.
Looks like Classic Motor Hub has an Alfa Montreal. Any chance of a test of that one, Harry?
aussiebloke609 Oh yes! Would love to see Harry review the Montreal. Beautiful car and always an intriguing one.
it is a pleasure to watch these vids. Harry really has no competition on CZcams when it comes to car reviews
Love the fact the restoration was done with driving in mind, the wider rear wheels give it perfect attitude. Not that I will ever get to drive one. I don't doubt the brakes would give up pretty quickly, but I can almost feel every wriggle of the steering wheel and that gorgeous sounding lump climbing through it's rev range. Thanks Harry !
Wow! That engine sounds AMAZING!!!!
Fantastic video of an icon of car design. This is what happens when you give brilliant young engineers and designers free reign.
Seen this in person at cars and coffee it’s amazing , the interior and the colour and just the whole car is just the best
>> Harry, we love the front view camera shooting forward over your shoulder.
I owned this car, in this color around 1970. Of course, it was a Corgi model version and I was 10 years old, but I loved it nonetheless!

As soon as i saw the thumbnail, i immediatly clicked and liked. Absolutly love the Miura!!!
beautiful spec with that color green and blue interior. thanks to the owner for sharing with us
wow, what an experience for me ; thank you for taking me along your road test. I have always lusted after this car for the last 10 years and not a day goes by that I continue to appreciate the detailing that went into this car. The "Original super car" term I hadn't known till I watched this video. Hope to see one in real life someday.
as stunning as this beauty looks now..cannot imagine what folks thought in '68..just incredible tech for the age..even now it is a show stopper..just drips with..wow factor..
lime green exterior x blue leather interior, thats a real lamborghini
I now know my coffee machine is Miura green! What a colour!
went from naples to rome in high speed train yesterday. took longer than in the Miura! wow!
Is this the best review EVER ?
What a CAR !!
What a NOISE !!!
Harry, this video is the best. Thank you to the new owner who clearly told you to go for it. Great to see some faster driving than normal - maybe it's just the longer cut and/or the different camera angles. Please keep up this style for your future reviews - I love the onboard and the long takes. Thank you
Love this channel so much, every video is just a gem!
an amazingly beautiful car and a real car at that! our past was beautiful, our future looks more bleak by the day. :-(
Thank you very much Harry for taking us on board of this gorgeous masterpiece. All the best!
Awesome car, awesome soundtrack - another great review Harry where you can really feel all the drama and “evo”tion from the cockpit
For me, the Miura is the best looking car ever. The SV wheels makes it perfect.
Fantastic video Harry. A true drivers car being driven, what a soundtrack.
Miura and XKE the two best. Who doesn't love this car? I've been lusting after it since reading the road test in Road and Track in 1969. "We were on a two lane California blacktop at 120 mph and a Porche came up behind us flashing the lights to pass. We dropped Two gears and left him a spec in the rear view in seconds..."
Good review Harry. I've learned yet even more about this car with your review.
Gotta luv Harry's recitation of the "mood" and "spirit" surrounding the development of the car...........what a terrific video!!! Thanx Harry!!!!
This is a beautiful, timeless machine. Amazing.
Thanks Harry. Your vast knowledge and experience adds another dimension to a car review.
Two things struck me about this video; 1) Just how utterly wonderful the Miura is 2) Just how utterly wonderful Harry Metcalfe is. Bravo!
The smile on your face and the glorious engine note said it all.
Ah, Harry! First the Lotus Esprit last week and now this!! You're reading my mind. Please keep them coming! Thanks again.
From watching your videos, I know you are a visual guy. You like how things look. Next time you have a Miura at your disposal, open both doors fully and stand in front of the car. THE HORNS!!! It's unbelievable. You really understand how incredibly stylish Italians are and how they can capture the essence (essense?) of the name.
Muira + Harry = Perfection 👌🏻
Awesome vid Harry
Awesome video, enjoyed every second of it.
I really like the front-facing camera angle that you are using, gives an idea on what it actually feels like to be in the drivers seat of this machine. Thanks again for this invaluable documentation.
The most beautiful car ever made next to the E-type in my opinion.
Yep. E-type convertible...
@@mtnvalley9298 rather individually, I much prefer the E-Type coupe' styling over the Roadster.
The convertible looks too "mirrored" to me, as in the same at both ends. i LOVE the shape of the rears on the Coupe's.
