What is your favorite way of playing Anachrony? (Which modules, expansions, etc do you incorporate?)
basically the way you guys played it, with fractures of time, asymetric sides and all the little modules added
Honestly, I enjoy the base game with no expansions. I've never tried the fractures of time expansion. Even though I'm sure I'd enjoy it, it just seems like too much.
Fractures of Time is awesome. I also prefer to add the Hypersync module. It lets you borrow actions from the future and offers a nice backup plan if you are locked out from an action type.
Setup-wise the first time we played we were like "what are we getting into...". New rules overhead though isn't too bad.@@Drewkas0
Does that mean you are not allowed to take a specific action at some later point in the future??? 🤯 @@matslarsson6919
The iconography in this game is just amazing, it is a complex game and pretty intimidating when you see it for the first time, but everything is logical and makes sense thematically, my favourite worker placement game by a mile. Thank you, this was a great video.
You're welcome!! Yeah it's all pretty clear once you grasp the basic concepts and the rulebook does a good job clarifying everything that may be a little confusing.
I found this game to appear more complicated than it actually ended up being. After finally getting it to the table I ended up really enjoying it as a solo game.

So looking forward to playing it again, after a long long time. I managed to score the essentials edition plus two expansions for 78€/$ on a clearance sale.
"I can't blink!" and "Now that I have done all the blinking" are such funny sentences to hear during the game.
Such a great play through, can't wait to give this expansion a try!
LOL, It probably sounds absurd to someone listening from the kitchen who knows nothing about board games.

We played it once at a convention 2v2 and didn't really connect with it. What is the ideal player count in your opinion?
@@BeforeYouPlay definitely 2 player controlling 2 characters each.
It is a beautifully game. Like anachrony, there are generic player boards and asymmetric player boards.
I hope to eventually own this game and expansions as it the look and theme are perfect for me. Gameplay is a bit confusing and (seemingly) complicated but that's completely understandable since I'm very new to the current state of tabletop gaming and I've never played games like this.
By the way, do you happen to own Beast / plan to pick up Earthborne Rangers / or own Vindication? Those are other games that strongly intrigue me / are visually stunning.

Yeah this one is definitely crunchy. We'd recommend not jumping into it with the expansion. Base game only and then maybe go from there.
We have Earthborne Rangers and Vindication (Naveen has played Vindication 3 times). He enjoyed it but feels it plays best at 3-4 players. I (Monique) plan on playing Earthborne Rangers soon!
Is blocking the capital space an official variant or a house rule? I enjoy Anachrony at two players, so maybe I'll try it.
It's an official variant! Makes it tighter for sure
I’d love it if it weren’t for the setup. I recommend getting the core + fractures, no minis. It can be so compact

2 player is nice and cozy, 4 player is calm and collected but 3 is the mind-killer ;)
I always play the path of domination if i get the option, but i insist on calling them The Sons of Cthulhu.
