Thank you to all the channels and sources that make videos like this possible!
Thank you all for watching! Yes, Honda designed V8's for their Indy cars. However, none were ever put in any consumer models which leaves all of us no ability to experience them. This makes me sad. Maybe one day...
Honda made v8 for Indy cars 4.0 dohc
Honda was planning on making the RL Maxx in 2006, a v8 powered RL but ofc it never came. I think they did make v8s for their F1 cars but that's about it.
Hondas older F1 engines were in the V10 era. (They made a V12 in the 60s as well)
Honda has never really wanted to be the biggest car manufacturer in the world, the biggest tell is that they don't do any fleet vehicles, like none whatsoever. Whereas nearly every other car manufacturer does.
That's true!
On Tuesday, I told my buddy it would be nuts if Honda made V8s.
Just found your channel, you're underrated keep the good work up
This comment is underrated! Thank you!
Subbed to your channel dude , hope you grow and become big =)
Thanks you!
honda has V8 in their marine lineup with the 350HP, 100% honda who else would have made it? their crate engines, and race applications mostly the indy v8.
Rodeos where bad ass for Shure had plenty all kicked but minus the last one had a rusted frame but Id still went 90mph hit deeps flew over hills slid corners for at least a year
Yesssiiirrr that's what makes life worth livin!
Honda made a V8 for the HSV-010. almost went production but idk if the production were planned with also a v8 or a different engine.
Gotcha. This video was more about production honda v8s. But good to know! Thanks!
Very informative and entertaining. Oil up lil bro
"Eye Zoo Zoo" is the weirdest pronunciation I've ever heard.
Lmao rumors of Honda entering NASCAR and they havent made a V8
Honda built a V8 for indie car races
Please Honda give me a v8 crate motor I can actually buy
Right!
they also have a v8 boat engine
Yessir! We actually put it in the video!
as multiple people already have stated, honda has made v8s, makes it hard for me to be interested to sit through this video 😂
and no, having help doesn’t make it a different manufacturer’s motor
They made v10 v8 v12 formula 1 engines
They did, I'm salty I can't buy one. I mean more for the consumer side.
I like to imagine a world with a V10 NSX
It's either going to happen, and itll either suck or blow the socks off of execs... hope it isnt a hybrid and i hope its pushrod lol
They make v8 for boats and racing motors 😅
Does the indy v8 count?
It does count, I was just referring to the productions side more than the Indy side.
Honda/Acura can build v12, v10 and v8 (just look at their involvement with motorsport). But if you have to blame someone you can 100% blame it on California (CARB)
I absolutely agree. Even something like a V8 accord would be sick. Anything realy lol
They made one v8
If you're thinking about the v8 that was put in the Crossroad, that was actually made by Rover! It was badged as a Honda though.
@@WheresNeutral count it 🤝🏻
@@WheresNeutral to add to the confusion that old rover engine is from Buick lol
@@SUPRAMIKE18 There's no way 😂
Tell me if I’m bugging here, I read it from somewhere but I’m sure Honda has made v10’s and or v12’s before to
I believe they did make some very small v10s and v12s for formula one racing. Unfortunately still no v8 🤣
how to do a v8 honda style (with a little bit of Mercedes style in it): smash two of their 4 cylinders together (b, d, k, etc so they can have sohc and dohc variants), slap some turbos on it (electric turbos though, like how Mercedes does it on that disappointment of a new c63), add an electric motor in the transmission (hopefully automatic not cvt, idk how this would work with manual, sorry guys), and another electric motor in the rear (since they love fwd, I expect it to be a fwd v8 with the electric motor making it awd). then you make it run on a cleaner fuel (maybe e85, since that's more readily available, but they could also do hydrogen, so long as they add water injection to the engine to make it 100% clean). and depending on which 4 cyl they base it off of, (or if they do a lineup, all of the 4 cyls) they will range from 3.X to 4L. it'll probably be flatplane too, but I wouldn't complain about a crossplane version. and of course it would have vtec regardless if its sohc or dohc (locked vtec mods on those will sound phenomenal!) so yea that's how u make a hopefully fuel efficient, high revving, powerful, and clean(ish) honda v8. sorry for the yap-fest lmao
