Today we look at "take over payments" Facebook Marketplace cars and trucks. If you take nothing else away from this video (and you probably won't), remember this: until you make the final payment, that is the BANK'S CAR. DO NOT MODIFY THE BANK'S CAR. You are throwing your hard-earned money away and if you're only chasing style points, you're also devaluing an already depreciating asset.
Don't be dumb. Don't modify the bank's car. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
It's actually called Bilstein's monster.
I had to argue with a trash mechanic to put new Bilstein's on my 20 yr old Ford Lightning. He kept trying to sell me on some off brand oem cheaper ones. No. Factory are Bilstein's. I have driven this thing harder than you can imagine. He still tried to sell me on cheap crap. I should have just left right then. It used to be a good shop.

Omg he only owed $22k on that camaro.. he is giving it away.. what a steal.. the fool could get more at carmax for it.. Ad said he put $29k into it.. so it must be an ss too.. holy cow those sale at dealerships for $40k all day..

I work at a bank and as soon as I see someone trying to get a hellcat, charger, camaro RS or Ram truck I know that thing aint gonna live to see at least 4 payments.
Those are all basketball player cars 😝
Wrong. Not in TX or my family at least. Cheaper to live there, can pay it off fast especially with a big downpayment. I factored in how much $ 2 weekend trips to Houston/mo would cost me in gas (it's the same as now in mid or premium). I like paying things off in 3 yrs.
Edit: my mom is a nurse but she had a Denali and 2 jeep Cherokee's at one point. I tried to buy the Denali off Dad and he wouldn't let me. Whomever bought it got a treasure. Dammit. Mint condition and hauled everything.

I dont understand how people will post pictures of a car they are selling and not even bother cleaning the car.
Less effort. Like the days of craigslist car ads with no photos
@@fishkluch I guess in a way it's good. It's a sign that the vehicle has never had any PM done and was not taken care of.
@@dmacarthur5356 conversely I've sold absolute lemons for more than they're worth by getting them detailed beforehand so it looks like I took emaculate care of them. Like nah bro the transmission is slipping and about to go, I just keep my cars clean.
Definitely a solid indicator of lack of maintenance if it's dirty for the photo though.
Or interior pictures, just baffles me. It probably comes down to people not really being serious about selling the car
@@Michael-uc2pn It's crazy how effective that method is. If a car looks pristine on the surface most people won't even bother inspecting the mechanical condition and will assume it's just as good as the exterior. It works so well because most people are lazy as shit and you can tell their car is a lemon just from the photos.
That charger GT had the neutral bypass lever pulled. 1000% stolen.
10000% 😂. Not that anyone is surprised
Stolen and plowed into something that was low to the ground. At 5:08 the radiator support shroud is ripped clean through in two spots and every Christmas tree is popped out except for the 2 that are still attached at the hood latch. There's a whole chunk missing too on the left. All that is supposed to be one piece. That bumper cover snagged onto something solid and was pulled hard. I really want to see how turbo-fucked the underside is.

Man, you got bigger balls than I do for jumping into that mess 😂. Thanks for unfucking it tho, we need more clean BRZ's on the road
Never understood doing that shit to a special edition...that's what the base models are for man. The Yellowseries is my favorite of the first gens too.
Most people have no idea how to wire shit properly. They cut the factory wiring rather than running a fuse tap to a relay for key on power (for things like lights and subs that need a lot of amps. You should only hook up the load side to the battery directly, not the control side). And they use scotch locks, wire nuts, or just electrical tape for connections rather than soldering or crimping with wires that have proper insulation and heat shrink.
After having undone some homebrew fuel pump wiring on a few customer cars (the sending unit failed, so they bypassed it and put power directly to the pump. Unfused of course), I wonder how we don't have more electrical fires
I agree dude. Bought a parts ae86 and it was pretty clean looking so decided to fix it up with the other parts I had laying around (I collected Ae86’s stuff). Car had clean title and everything and looked stock. Only an aftermarket stereo. As soon as I started gutting it to do some cleaning and interior replacement I found a whole mess of wires everywhere! And just under the dash there was like a whole roll of wires looped up behind the stereo area and was like wtf is this. So tore the whole thing apart and Yanked all the unnecessary wires out and left only the oem wire harnesses. All the spare wires I pulled I put in a box and it was so heavy it was at least 80lbs almost. Like a 80lb concrete bag. I still have no idea why there was so much wires in there, they didn’t go anywhere besides out the firewall and directly connected to the battery with no fuse. And the ends in the dash were capped (they also ran under the carpet and under the rear seats). I kept the wires til this day to use for spare wires for stuff that needs it. All random gauges too. Anyway cleaned the car up, wired everything correctly and nicely, and gave a nice paint job and sold it to a friend. Car is no longer around tho since they blew the engine and junked it. So sad to see it go that way but oh wells.

How the hell does a car need new rod bearings at 50/60k but a Toyota is barely broken in at that point. You could argue it's higher performance yes, but even Hondas that are beat to hell and rev high don't need them for the life of the vehicle
@knucklestheechidna5718 Planned obstenence, so you're forced to spend money at the dealership. It's not just a BMW thing, but they also overcomplicate the HELL out of their engineering, which makes it even worse. Luckily, the aftermarket can solve some problems

Always hang on to your stock parts if you mod a car, selling it is much easier when it’s stock. Getting it serviced for warranty is easier when it’s stock.

i have a plan to pay off my car, i bought a few mods for it. i guess i could have paid more off the principle but i already pay extra on it every month
I bought a gr86 a year and a half ago. I can't imagine doing that shit to my car 😂
I did buy a catback and a header for it, with some wheel spacers to fix the fitment until I get wheels for it. But I agree about paying the loan down instead of buying mods. There is a ton of stuff I want to buy for it but instead I did the bare minimum to keep me happy until it's paid off. I have been toying with the idea of getting an intake though for more sound. It's just that the stock intake is the best one and also, I'd need to tune for it which adds a fair bit of cost to it. I didn't tune for my header so I don't have anything for that yet, I'm just running a defouler. I really should just keep making huge payments though
if you wanna tune a car get an old toyota or honda and modify that, i have a 2023 brz its not worth it man just make extra payments so you pay less interest in the long run

Someone else has probably mentioned it but if not, the ashtray looking thing in the leg area in those old 5 series BMWs is a coin holder. The one in the center console is the real ashtray
The BMW with “damaged” title, where I live there’s spots on the back for signing over the title, but it’s only if it’s being transferred to a dealer. If it’s a private sale and you sign it over on that side the title becomes void and only the previous owner can get a new one unless you leave it unregistered for X amount of years then you can get an “abandoned” title if you have bill of sale
My bank owned car all ive done, subwoofer, really nice dashcam setup with a tracker and cameras all around wired into the car, and window tints to protect my black interior from the sun here in the desert. I'm fine with the wheels n tires it has but I did go get some nice Michelin and a set of steelies with stuffed ones. Here in canada, you just need a bill of sale and your drivers license to get a car registered and insured...

The only time you’d modify the banks car is if you can comfortably afford it with very low interest and you simply didn’t want to drop all your cash into a car at once
I had two missed payments on my credit years ago (same account, two months in a row, straight up made a paperwork error, my bad). In 2015.
Did the math, realized I could make about 24 payments on a new account to move from 97% to 99% on time (worth a big credit bump).
So I bought a car on a 6 year loan at 3.14%, then immediately paid of about 70% of the loan, and paid like $30/month for years to get credit recovered.
But you can’t get loans that low anymore, and even if you could no one rebalances the loan’s monthly payment.
Still, that’s about the only way I could figure it’d remotely make sense to pay to mod the banks car: travel back in time and get an exceedingly favorable loan after having already screwed up something else.
*That FR-S looks like the scene where the Joker lit all the money on fire*

I'm not sure I'd ever finance a new or used car if I can help it, or really finance anything other than a house or condo to live in at this point. Paid cash for my daily with an insurance payout after my first car that lasted me 8 years was totaled and I can tweak and mod that as long as I can secure transportation to work. If she ends up wrecked or something, I'd buy a fun used ride I can afford to buy outright or at least pay off in less than a year. Avoid buying anything you can't afford to fork over the full amount for, that's my thought.
9:07 why is chris rudnik catching strays lmaoooo

On the Focus, ridiculous payment but he doesn't want anything for it. You could probably contact the bank to see how much the payoff amount is. It can't be THAT much, although now that i'm thinking about it they probably bought the car at the height of pandemic prices.
Admittedly I made some mods on my Honda Fit even though the note isn't paid off yet. But every mod I made is easily reversable, I never skipped out on preventative maintenance to make way for them (some required maintenance at the same time like the braided stainless steel brake and clutch hoses. I held off until the car was due for a brake flush since I'd have to bleed it after anyway and I could refill the system with high perfornance DOT 4 fluid (I used Motul RBF 600 in this case)), and I actually have equity in the car. I only owe $6-7k now while it's worth $9-10k. I could easily pull off my parts in a weekend and resell them separately for extra money if I decided to sell the car. Not that I would because I love this car.
Aside from the paint fading way too much and way too soon, and the spark plug coils that fail very regularly, they do are a great little toy car to modify and play with on a track... they don't quite go fast enuff to get into trouble, but they do go fast enuff to make it almoat feel like yur haulin' ass cuz they're so small, especially if lowered a couple inches and given decent tires on offset wheels...
@@JeTTRod The paint was mostly on the 1st gens (GD3s) and the plugs and coils was on those and the 2nd gens (GE8s). Mine is a 3rd gen (GK5). Their issues are mostly due to direct injection. The injectors, high pressure fuel pump, carbon buildup on the intake valves, that shit. Also the VTC actuator (sprocket on the intake can for the variable valve timing) going bad. But those issues can be mitigated largely with shorter oil change intervals, more frequent spirited driving, and being careful where you refuel.
There are still some leak issues, but it's only common if you have a sunroof (mine is an LX, so it doesn't). Also the push button starts on these cars are known to fail (again, mine as an LX doesn't have that option).
They are super fun to drive and even with it being slow, the amount of speed they can carry into corners lets you surprise people. And I can thrash it and still get 35 MPG.
