While I agree with your point on how they tried to make 99 into a hero, it was Lucasfilm who did this, not Disney. This episode was released a whole 2 years before Disney bought the company.

I hate to point it out, awesome and enjoyable episode. That's one thing I've always favoured this channel for: just how into it the channel can get what with speciesism, that ad for buying a used tie fighter, and other things. Hopefully you'll keep adding those things in, really adds to the Star Wars spirit.
The writers also pussiefied the Mandalorians.

My theory on 99 is that he was made after the Jedi began supervising everything. They put an end to many of the kaminoans more brutal practices.
The Brennan but, he’s 99, maybe that’s simply his nickname, but I always thought he WAS the 99th clone trooper, and because he’s defective and made really early he’s aged slower than his other brothers

-The Brennan This is true, In S3 Ep1, one of the Kaminoans mentions disposing of the deffective Domino squad, but Master Shakti puts an end to that (because all life is precious to Jedi), suggesting Janitorial duty like 99 instead.
The Brennan Fives got his name because his Birth number was all Fives, Rex co firmed that there are more then one clone with the same number in Rebels if I remember correctly.
99: He didn't bring his plot armor
I think the kaminoans reasons for keep 99 alive was because it costed money to make him. And even if he couldn't fight for the republic, they could use him for other stuff.
The Kaminoans were literal Nazis, eugenics and scientific racism were deeply integrated into their culture. The only real reason why they didn't kill 99 for his biomass to create more able bodied clones was because the Republic intervened before they could do so, and persuaded them to give him another job
I guess Kamino was so poorly defended in this Battle because Plot tbh but still it was still a pretty awesome battle and a pretty good episode! :)

kamino is not a republican outpost, but rather an independent company. cloning for the republic and other customers as well. the kaminoans themselves are no warriors. it would not make sense for the planet to be fortified.

Star wars tactics are almost always about plot instead of actual tactics.
They should have just attacked with a nuke, oh wait they don’t have them in their universe, or you know they could have just held an actual attack on the only planet producing clones
They wanted the clone dna to look for weaknesses in the genetic code and possibly to create their own army with them.

Doby Tricksta no they didn’t lol. Disney bought Lucasfilms in 2013. The clone wars was made before that. Disney shut down production of the clone wars, and made the sad excuse of a show called “rebels.” If I’m correct, I believe Cartoon Network ran the clone wars

Probably had less problems than most other battles in the show. If they extended this battle to be an arc rather than a single episode I think that we would've gotten those mines, various attempts to siege the city from the water, and high level of security on important places. I would've liked to have seen a moment where clones like Rex, Cody, Fives, Echo, and maybe even 99 try and convince the mercenaries training them to help out in the battle. It would've been interesting to see that there were soldiers for hire who would switch sides depending on the money and who's winning and compare them to, well, slave soldiers who follow orders. There had to be more than just the bounty hunters that we saw in the previous episode after all. Like Mandalorian Protectorates or something like that?

It was actually part of a four part story arc on Domino Squad and this was before the buyout.
Even in The Clone Wars, the Kaminoans have the same pragmatic disregard for the lives of clone troopers. One of them suggested "terminating" Tup! I figure they just kept 99 around because he could at least do maintenance. Or he was one of the few surviving "defective" clones.

Jedis were HORRIBLE military leaders. They had zero military training and took over operations, ticking off the Republic commanders.
Timothy House To be fair, they never really asked to be their leaders. They were just kinda handed the role out of left field on Geonosis.
+Timothy House Well that's dumb. The Republic commanders should be ticked off at Palpatine, seeing as it was him who put the Jedi in charge of operations.
Wright805 it isn't clear that Palpatine gave them that power. Yoda said he was going to Kamino to get the army when windu led the rescue. The Jedi assumed command and Palpatine let them.
Timothy House And in the Dark Horse comic "Sacrifice" Mace states that the Jedi Council reluctantly agreed with the Supreme Chancellor to continue assuming command of the clone army.
Like others already pointed out, it was really just handed to them. Of course they took charge of the clones on Geonosis because they were already there so why not? Then afterwards the Senate/Palpatine shoved them into leadership positions. Palpatine let it happen seeing as any failures and losses will be on the Jedi’s head. Until later in the war when it started to become obvious that the Jedi’s power were diminishing.

Having all the cloning facilities on one site is really bad for the republic. For the Kaminoans it is very good though. This way they can better control the cloning process and secure their business secrets (=> Monopoly). Establishing facilities on other sites would require cooperation with republic personal and give up some of those secrets.

That adds to it yes. But as Caminoan I wouldn't have allowed the construction of facilities outside even ten years later. The gain of signifigance of Kamino within the republic through the cloning facilty would be stupid to jeopardize. It's also quite a bargaining chip in case of imminent separatist victory.

Idk why 99 even went for another batch of grenades. They clearly didn't need more since they didn't take a single causality. They had 4 of the most highly trained clones, 3 of the from the elite 501st. There was no reason for him to make that run other than plot.

Agreed on the cooking assessment, but I still have some moral qualms with eating a sentient being. Great points on 99. The writers did limit him quite a bit. Found the inuendo through the video funny as well. One thing though: its GAR not JAR right?

I also somewhat figured he said he can't, because of the tremedious fire that was coming. And it would be the same as a Lt seeing a private trying to be a hero, but in reality grabs him and tells him to bunker down. I can see the idea of not giving 99 a weapon to fire, but also was thinking he knows the place inside and out for years. Could easily help lead them shortcuts and whatnot.

Well it’s been hinted at that 99 would be dead right now, however once the Jedi took control of the Clone Army they put a stop to that of course. Makes perfect sense, they wouldn’t allow the Kaminoans to go around killing clones they deem unfit to live.

It is a 3 part episode, the first part is a prequel to the rookiees episode in season 1 and the second part is meant to take place very shortly after that episode.

It's nice to hear someone not afraid to mention Star Wars flaws! We only nitpick the things we love, and 'cides, how else can Star Wars improve unless we critique it?
It just makes it sadder when 99 says, "I'm a soldier, like you!" before he dies.
I feel like the republic was just unprepared. Kind of like Pearl Harbor. The real strategic mistake is the seps not entirely destroying Tipoca City like they could have I think
Just a few things that I feel have to be pointed out. The show was made and was creating episodes long before disney, and the same was still here with this episode. This episode was from the early seasons of the show, disney had not even purchased the franchise at this time, and as well, it's best to remember, when disney finally had the rights to star wars, they cancelled the show as soon as they possibly could.
Dang, when doing these videos you obviously pointed out the issues, but you seem even more critical now than before. I think what you said about these videos slowly crushing your soul has finally come true.
