While the CIS fled and the Republic "won" the battle, the Republic failed to complete the main goal of stopping the CIS before they became a threat.

Some have criticized the Republic’s infantry tactics at Geonosis, but if you look at the movie you’ll see that few clones get hit by actual blaster bolts. Keep in mind that their weapons have greater range and better aim than most of the battle droids, hence why the clones are standing relatively still and picking their targets while the droids are constantly running forward to get their targets within closer range. I imagine the clone armor is also more effective against bolts fired from greater distances.

Well, perhaps because the scenes in the movie show us moments in where barely bolts from the droids hit their targets. In general, and not just including what one can see in AOTC, it was a bloodbath, specially for commandos, who weren't specially trained to fight in the frontlines.

In Napoleonic and American Civil War battles it was common to have casualties in the thousands and even tens of thousands. It’s the inevitable outcome of such large numbers of soldiers engaging in quick and decisive combat rather than scattered and drawn out campaigns.

Indeed! Grievous is one of the best characters in all of Star Wars. He was awesome in the movies, but really dummied down in the animated series. But in his full story, you get to understand how he had plenty of excellent reason to hate the Republic, and specifically the Jedi Council, even before he allied with Count Dooku, and became a cyborg. This Battle should have sent Red Flags up for every even mildly talented Military Man. If the CIS wasn’t so focused on retreating they could have easily crushed the Republic with how many Forced they had at the Battle. A chunk of the goal was to pull in the Republic troops...there were the HEX weapons that were set up to be used, but Adi Gallia and Nym arrived with a pretty large strike group and took out the weapons before the could have been used there. If those had been deployed, the Clone Wars would have had very little in the way of clones in them and everyone still on Geonosis that was organic would have been dead.

They took heavy Casualties during the Battle and while it’s true that the Seps did too they didn’t deploy more than a Fraction of their Troops and many Casualties they took were caused by the Republic destroying Transports wich weren’t exactly fighting back. I still feel that if the CIS were determined to fight they had a high Chance of Sucess and apart from the Sith Grand Plan there really wasn’t any reason not to Stand and Fight or at least attempt to. Even if they lost the Seps can replenish losses far more easily then the Republic.

Every organic asset on Geonosis that isn't completely sealed up is, at that moment, dead in a horrifying way...one that would be bound to leave a nasty wound in the force on par with Malichor V where a lot of remaining Jedi would be caught in the middle, and those fuck with the sanity of non-force users as well which would make the disaster even worse there.
Any assets on the ground of Geonosis would be in CIS hands with their droids, the Jedi would have lost everyone sent in, and the Confederate forces would have a LOT of time with zero opposition, especially since that would lead straight into the Dark Reaper crisis and Tann running amok elsewhere with even more forces to utilize.

Most people would probably say it would be a purely first person Jedi Knight experience, just without you possessing Jedi powers or a lightsaber. But I think it would have to have more, especially if it were to be made today. It would be something of a Republic Commando offshoot but with map/scenarios like CoD/MoH and you're not the leader, but the follower.
