He didn't want her to go, you could see the tears in his eyes, but also didn't want for her to watch him possibly die.
He actually didn't want her to be in a dangerous situation, where he can't protect her. Ordering her to leave is a very father move

I actually love this. This is a great adaptation from the show. I was worried about how they'd do this scene. Because having one of the main characters literally passed out for the entire length of two episodes, didn't seem like the thing a prime time TV show would do. At the same time there's no way in hell Joel would agree to Ellie staying with him when he's incapacitated (in a dangerous place where he can't protect her anymore) and let her stitch him up. Him angrily ordering her to leave (and basically let him die) and being overwhelmed when she returns is exactly the thing Joel would do. It shows they really understood the character and made changes that are consistent with Joel from the game
I love these two. They are really amazing. When Joel looks for ellie and say her to leave him, its so heartbreaking. Thanks for this serial and thanks for amazing actors❤❤❤
The way he kinda holds his breath when his in pain is the same thing i do lol pedro done the same in prospect wonder if he himself actually does that.

@@demoninfested._.nugget5675 Don't we all do that when we are in a lot of pain? I think it's the natural reaction but I learned it's best to try control your breathing and try breathing normally otherwise you make the pain / discomfort worse. Easier say than done when you are in excruciating pain though.
Wenn I have a cramp in my leg, I hold my breath. It somehow helps to supress the pain

But just remember its a show and things that doesnt nessecearly makes sense in the real world are totally okay in my opinion to make sense in a world thats not real. Just because its fiction, and the reason why i like fiction is so that i can "imagine" myself living in that world.
@@laurenm.2265 I understand but we must not ignore it sometimes fiction can be a reality in the near future as science and technology progress so does diseases , terrorism,climate change and norms of society as a person like me who live in a developing nation with no certainty worst I live in a geo strategic place for conflict in west Philippine sea where chinese navy US navy are grinding each other one wrong move could lead to war I prefer a "suicide" option saving myself from further suffering

The music in this scene was spectacular
I commented on this before had Joel not pulled that handle out he’d be in much better shape. There’s two things to be concerned about with an impalement injury, the risk of infection, and bleeding out when you pull it out. Joel screwed himself over when he pulled the handle out it would’ve made more sense to leave it in and ride back to Tommy’s. Oh Joel what are we gonna do with you!
but he had to ride a horse so wouldn't it have been worse to be bouncing and moving with that thing impaled inside him? i thought taking it out would be the best choice ONLY if he knew he was gonna stay still and get medical attention immediately (im genuinely curious lmao bc i've seen people say both things)
@@wendybijellberg it bouncing around would’ve done less damage then him bleeding out because what happens is is yes it will bounce and cut up his intestines but it’ll be better then the damage of blood loss he’d be experiencing otherwise.

@@afitcouchpotato4014 Bleeding can be controlled with pressure, internal damage cannot be fixed without surgery and will just result in more bleeding. Pulling it out was the better of two evils, bouncing around on a horse would have caused so much damage to his insides and made the bleeding even worse and caused internal damage which would be game over. Pressure can stop bleeding and both he and Ellie were placing pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding when they could. Also Tommy is a long 5 day ride away, he isn't making it there alive removing the bat or not.

no way you can survive such wound, it's not only the skin and muscle that is puncture, but also the large intestine, waste could leak inside the body and it's just a matter of time until sepsis setles in, oh yes and that neddle that ellie stched joel, it was not desinfected, it could cause a very nice tetanus infection. Bro this is a great show but there are this little things that don't go well with logic

Okay in the game I think it’s assumed that the stake missed any internal organs so the only risk was him bleeding out. Later Ellie also gets her hands on penicillin to treat the infection which is what ultimately brings him out of it. It’s still a long shot you’re right, but hey video game logic🤷🏻♀️
