1st dilemma: Given the behaviour he has shown - i.e. harassment and deception by calling excessively from different numbers - I actually consider this as a red flag, to be honest.... Also, it sounds bad, but if these deaths haven't been verified (e.g. you didn't attend the menorial services etc) just keep your eyes/ears open to the POTENTIAL that these could be fraudulent stories ... I know it sounds AWFUL, but .... we have seen a lot this year when it comes to lies and the secondary gain IS clear in this case unlike other cases where it isn't always. Saying this from a place of love for the sister, not from a place of conspiracy.

While that can be scary (mom and pastor dilemma), I would ask if she has prayed about it herself. Like I don't know her mom's spiritual growth and her personal relationship with Christ, nor where the pastor is at (because he may have deep spiritual discernment). But she absolutely NEEDS to pray and seek the Lord for herself! If you rely on other people's revelations, then you are setting yourself up to get manipulated and/or spiritually abused. Definitely something to be wary of, but she really, really has to pray and see what the Lord has to say personally.
