Thanks so much for this. Started our drive home today in our 01 f-350 and suddenly not only blinkers but brake lights and headlights were also out. Replacing this relay fixed it!

I have a 1997 crown Victoria and it is so hard to find any videos of it being worked on so it’s nice to see this one being similar hope I can get my turn signals fixed
Thanks for the info on Flasher Relay. My 87 F150 has the "round" shape type inside the fuse box itself. The bad news is....I spent well over $100 replacing 1st the signal light Cam then the entire wire harness inside steering column. At the end of the day....new harness,flasher n working lights. Thanks Again Sir.

I had this exact problem a while back. I was told that it was the turn signal switch. I had the complete turn signal switch replaced. I still had the problem.
This sounds much more logical than replacing the switch because the lights would still work & flash for a second, but just wouldn't stay flashing until it was turned off.
I'm about to check this out immediately. Thanks in advance if this is the solution to my problem. 👍

When I turned my hazards on one day, my turn signals completely stopped working. I blew a tail light (already replaced the bulb) and now I notice that my front left hazard light doesnt blink either. But the rest of the bulbs flash with the hazards turned on. But when I turn on my headlights, that corner light seems to light up. But with the arrow indicators on the dash, only the right arrow flashes with the hazards on instead of both. (1991 E350). I pulled the bulb out and the filaments seem to be fine. Should I try to replace the flasher next? I briefly heard a ticking sound coming from next to the battery. There are a few relays in there... not sure which one is ticking or which number relay controls what. The ticking stopped after a few seconds and it won't do it again.

Interesting. I don't recall seeing this in the chiltons handbook. Mines a 1999 so it should be the same or close to it. I thought it mightve been dust in the column causing it to short out but this seems more likely. Thank you.

The front right side of my blinkers don't work, but the light does. The back right side blinkers work, but they flash more rapidly than the ones on the left. Any idea on what that could be?

I checked the fuse: its good, and I tried the flashing module and the lever on the column on our 2004 F-250 in my 2009 Ranger: those two are good. But still no turn signals. The emergency flashers work. Is there another fuse or relay not listed in the owners book?
Hum i have same issue on my 2001 f150 replaced everything only hazards work but no turn signal they quit for a month then started to work last week now there off again
I have an 89 ford f150...the hazards work and the fuse is good but I don't have signal lights. There is no sound when switch is put in direction of turn. They did work when I bought the trunk a week ago. Any ideas? Would it be the same thing replaced that is in this video? And is it in a different location in the older model ford? I did find a round flasher plug on or in the fuse box under dash. Is that it?
I'm so new to learning how to fix and repair my own vehicle due to not being able to afford high mechanic fees...so I'm teaching myself how to do the easy fixes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..it's hard to find any how too's on this older style truck.

I replaced my turn signal flasher and the relay works and clicks but the turn signals don't light up on my dash nor on the outside of my truck. Bulbs are good. Short in the wiring? Are there fuses to check for the lights on the dash? Thanks.

My turn signals on my 2000 super duty don’t work when it’s below 30 degrees, as soon as the cab gets above 30 inside they start working? Could this relay be my issue?

Thanks for posting this video. I've been hesitant to work on my turn signal issue as many videos state that the part is the main switch box on top of steering column. That's no cheap part. So it finally dawned on me that me hazards were in fact working. Back to CZcams I came . found this video , and lead me right to the twelve dollar offending part . thanks .

I feel the larger cover over the relay. Removing this puppy is a challenge, unless it can reached from the R/Passenger side. Can I remove storage compartment and come in from the RIGHT side?

Hi there... I've got a 2001 Ford F-150 Lariat supercrew with signal mirrors and cannot seam to find enough info on them. Would there happen to be a fuse for the signal mirrors? If so, which panel would you think I need to look at?

I hate to be a spoil sport, but i just replaced my 2000 F150 flasher without all the disassembly. F250 may be more crowded. A little hand strength is needed (little is all have left at my age), but there was plenty of room on mine to pull the cover off.

Had my truck at ford all day and I have the new relay and they said its in the fuse box and i have the wrong one.. Mine will flash a couple times then stop so im sure Its like your video. Hope I can get my hand in their.

The small one next to it is that one for the multifunction wipers? My wipers seem to function when they want to and don't turn off.
That might be a problem with the wiper motor. Try tapping on the motor. If they stop then its the motor. Cancel switch in the motor.

Where's the flasher module located on a 06 mazda tribute ?
I believe this is the cause of my erratic flashing turn signals that have now quit. No dashboard indicator and no lamp indication but all bulbs work for hazard lights. If you could share a steady/illuminated video of the location where the turn signal flasher came from, or a photo, that'd be awesome. And if you could show a steady video the panel retainers and share what is best to remove/pop them out, that'd be great, too. Regardless, this is sending me the right direction and I thank you.
Oh, and your opinion if this part is reliable to replace with any compatible part from any auto shop, or if it is more reliable to buy OEM/Ford branded. I know with my Honda Civic, electrical parts (as I imagine this stuff is electrical - I'm not a mechanic and my knowledge has gapign holes) are best from the dealer for reliability. Huge difference in reliability and longevity. So huge, it could mean the difference between failing within a few weeks (aftermarket) or a few years (OEM).
All my bulbs are good the driver side flashes for the blinker passenger side doesn't blink but the lights do come on just not flashing the big relay hums

Are the lights LED? The flasher relay resistance only works with the stock bulbs. Will blink fast (as if lights are out but still work) if so.

I have a 90 f150 that the hazards work but the turn signals do nothing. if I put my foot on the brake that taillight turns off on the side I use the blinker. I checked all fuses and relays. any ideas?
i know this is an older post but for those that do not know that those style F150s (i have a 96) and they have 2 FLASHERS. one for turns and one for hazards. if you pop off fuse cover you can see a 552 flasher and if you reach to other side that is where the hazard flasher is.

I have a 2009 f150 and the right turning signal consistently blinks.When in the neutral position it still blinks.But when turn to left position it stops completely.The left signal doesn’t blink at all.Replace the turning switch and nothing changed.What else should I do?
Hope that’s my issue, just bought a 2000 f150 today and the tail light lights up when turn lever is applied but doesn’t blink..
Also the tilt steering will cause the trun signal multifunction switch to unplug .......in the steering coloum
On the 96' powerstroke I used to have the steering wheel had to be all the way up or no tailights

You should be fine leaving it connected.

I also learned how to install a fuel filter, tensioner pulley, all lights, oil filter, spark plugs and wires, brake pads and fuses. I'm never going to mechanic unless I have serious complications. Thanks to people like you, I saved time and money. Plus I have gained valuable mechanical knowledge and figured out that I have aptitude. Think I'll go to school for it.

Fuse? Do any of the signals light up? Do the indicators on the dash light up?
+The Car Doctor .no they don't come on at all it will do a quick flash but nothing else took it to a shop they didn't know what it was after replacing switch and damaging my truck at the same time
Sounds like you need to find a reputable place to take it.

Ken Whitney you might have a bad clock spring. Symptoms would include buttons on the rotating side of the wheel not working, as well as after an airbag light on due to a loss of contact with the airbag that also also on the rotating portion of the wheel

Does it do it in both directions? If just one its probably a short or bad bulb in that side somewhere. Look for one missing. Might have two on the rear or front and one burnt or a faulty bulb or socket

I've replaced the flasher relay twice. The relay lasts about four hours without a trailer hooked up. All lights work when the flasher is working. ???? I'm going to look at the wiring harness for the trailer lights. 2003 F-150

I have a 96 f150 that I bought as a toy. The left signal turns on the hazards making both sides blink. I tried a new turning switch and flasher module in the fuse box inside the cab but that isn't fixing the issue... any advice?
Sounds like a bad ground, a short or wrong bulb installed causing the circuit to backfeed. Check all the bulbs closely make sure they are correct and not damaged check all the wiring including any trailer wiring.

Brake lights should not be effected by the relay. Maybe a bad fuse or possibly related to a faulty turn signal switch
