Another tip is make sure your head is elevated and fold your ear over so it's not flat against the pillow, or you train yourself to sleep on your back, the tinnitus isn't as loud that way

I've had some level of tinitus for over 62 years and have learned to live with it if necessary however daytime became much better after the VA gave me hearing aids. Night is helped year around by running a soft sounding fan both for the sound and air movement. I also stay away from controversial videos prior to bedtime. Am fortunate that coffee does not affect me. Sum total many have it worse than me so pay attention to her. Good advice.

There are black screen rain sound CZcams channels. I use one set to 60 minutes to off, a large fan, and a white noise app on a tablet to sleep.

If you're going the sleep headphone route, look for reviews from people who sleep the way you do; some headphones that work fine for back/stomach sleepers are heck for those of us who are side sleepers...

I had habituated and was feeling good for a long time. I got T in November of 2018. Now I am in the midst of an absolutely horrible spike that is on day 4 or 5. I feel like I've lost years of progress, too. Need help.

I do look at my smartphone in bed for a short time but restrict looking at the screen. Music through the earphones helps me.

Any sound therapy must have a timer so you are not kept awake worrying about switching it off manually. My tinnitus pounds away all the time with no particular stimulant but driving longer distance tends to increase it. I will consider some of your methods thanks.

I have to leave the tv on low volume, otherwise it can get overwhelming.

@vickycarden1511 Me too cause I got insomnia 8 yrs ago and just got tinnitus, been 6 weeks now, going to see an ENT in a few weeks so I’ve been researching a lot. Reading people’s comments and seeing what works for them. Mine gets louder a few hrs right before I go to bed. Praying for everyone who is suffering from this, I had never heard of it till I got it. My GP told me it was my allergies and would go away in a couple of weeks, after that he told me give it another 3 weeks and had me on Flonase twice a day and telling me pop my ears at least 16 times a day. Mine don’t pop easily, when it does I can feel it open then right after that it feels like it sticks back down, weird.🙏🏻

I have to take an anxiety medication 3 hours before bedtime. I do have blackout curtains. Limiting caffeine intake has not worked because i am very unpleasant without caffeine in my system. I have a CZcams channel that has over 270 different where there are different 10 hour videos where the screen darkens after 10 minutes. There are certain sounds that work better than others and some nights, nothing seems to put the tinnitus in the background. Also if I don’t take the anxiety med by 7 pm, i know i will be awake most of the night and only get 3 hours or less of sleep that night.
