To avoid this...Take a picture NO MATTER WHAT. Orders that say "Hand it to me" go to the messaging icon as if you are going to send the customer a message. You have the option to take a pic. Take a pic of the food then send to customer as a picture message. Now they can't call support and say you never delivered the order.

I message her really so that wasn't you with the cat in your hand standing inside your apartment. This is why you should just say no to no-tip orders. I got one of those contract violation accusations when a customer lied saying he never got his food. After I started to decline no-tip orders all these problems went away.
The minute I stopped accepting bad orders, life improved dramatically. Acceptance rate is a lie. Mine is less than 50%, because I don't take no-tip/low pay orders, and I don't take orders from restaurants that consistently hold me up. Ever since I started doing that life has been much better. I get the occasional "raise your acceptance rate" nag, but idc. The alternative is delivering food to cheapskates who are far more likely to be scumbags reporting their food not delivered or sending me profanity-riddled texts accusing me of all kinds of wonderful things.
I have a theory that door dash also caps your earnings to be around 20 bucks an hour. Every time I make around 20 bucks in around an hour it literally doesn't assign me an order even if it's busy.

i'm over 1,000 dashes in, and have nearly perfect rating.. but anyone else ever get a message from a customer, thinking they're messaging support? 😂 Only time I messed up was delivering to house with the same number, across the street from the actual house.. right before Christmas. Customer messages ME thinking it's support saying: "This driver needs to be FIRED! He dropped my order off at the wrong house!" I felt guilty, called and apologized like crazy.. but bitter sweet how awkward she felt, when she realized she was actually messaging ME that I should be fired. 😅
Yes this happened to me too I followed the directions and left the food right on the porch and took a photo and the customer started texting me saying that they didn't get their food and that the driver must have stole it but I knew they were lying so I just texted them back and said Yes this is doordash no problem we will refund you immediately they stop texting me and I don't know what happened hopefully they didn't get their money

My red flags for a dishonest customer: 1) they select "hand it to me" but then write leave it at my door (no picture). 2) "hand it to me" order and they are dramatic ie please, please, please make sure you hand it to me (they mention to support how clear they were to hand it to them)
No it's the hand it to mes who won't come to the door and now I have to awkwardly stand at your front door for 5 minutes waiting to take a picture. I wear a body cam so IDGAF. I got proof I was there, delivered and left and went to my next pick up. 🤷♀️
@@marieblankenship8592 Yeah I have a hat cam and I love it, it literally and I believe that it is keeping customers in check now. I video all of my drop-off's so I have proof for doordash. I even say the name of the customer and give the address so that doordash can physically see everything for themselves where item's are left and proof if need be for them. A body cam is also a great idea too. Don't forget your car, you should totally get a dashcam too.
Take a photo with your phone anyway and save it or send it to them in a message. I’ve been recording my dashes on a body cam to avoid this but I still get shady people trying to scam the system.
The scam with the person calling saying the order was cancelled is the costomer themselves calling you. They used the doordash platform to order food to such and such address. Not even their address. They then call you saying they are doordash support and the order had been cancelled. I had it happen to me once, I told the person on the phone if he wants the order cancelled, go into the app and cancel it. He hung up, I then proceeded to call support and inform them that the client was impersonating doordash support. I got an email from doordash after that about the person's account being banned and it was under investigation.
when i was new i got offended when they would ask me to see my screen and force me to click pickup before they handed me the order but after a few weeks i started thanking them for doing that because i realised it actually helps me since theyre making sure some random person isnt taking my order. i say thank you very much i really appreciate you making sure im the right dasher.
I don't let anyone force me to click that I've picked up the food already because that starts the delivery clock if that food ain't ready I am not clicking confirmed that I have picked up that order

I can’t afford to play games with door dash nor am I going to give them 30 percent of my sales. I will have the food ready so the dasher doesn’t have to wait. But I expect my money
Good video! Most of the time I had a no tip customer trying to scam DoorDash driver’s in my market. When I first started food delivery with DoorDash I had a customer that said they did not receive their order but I dropped off the order as they said leave at door. Lastly I don’t have a dasher direct account, so I could not get scammed because there is no account. Most of the time I ignore unfamiliar numbers unless I’m expecting a call from someone using an unfamiliar number.
When they call me pretending to be Uber or door dash... I tell them that it's dangerous and illegal for me to be using the phone while driving. I'll pull over and call them back. Then I hang up and immediately call the app customer service and let them know.
You're better off getting a cash back credit card and paying off the balance at the end of the week. I use the points to get 50 cents off per gallon at BP and Shell.
I think the scam you said about a dasher stealing food is when they unassigned and when the new driver goes to pick it up and the store said they already picked it up lol I seen that so many times that’s probably exactly what happens when they say they picked it up then unassigning it like you said.
The third one happened to a friend of mine. They wiped out his bank account and DD support was no help. Two days later, he is still getting angry calls from "customers" all over the country.

I use Dasher Direct and was deactivated once and I still had access to my pay. But since that happen I don’t take any chances now soon as my pay goes in my dasher direct account I move it with Apple Pay just in case.
Pick up the order, unassign and steal the food. How lazy!! The pros know you go to the house, set the bag on the porch, take the picture, close the delivery and then take the bag back. 🤣🤣🤣
I just wanted to comment on my issues with door dash as a customer. I had just gotten back from being out of state and forgot to change the address back once I got home. Well… I ordered food but the second the confirmation page popped up I realized my mistake and immediately canceled the order. I canceled it within less than a minute from ordering. What did I get refunded back?? $18 on an $85 order for 30 seconds!!! It’s completely insane.. there is no way I put anyone out of a dime when I cancelled within a minute.. I would even be fine with a service charge.., but door dash literally stole $70 from me and they just don’t care. I immediately canceled my dash pass and deleted the app. I’ve never cancelled an order in my life.. I don’t think I’ve even ever complained!! I’m a “roll with the punches” type of person. This is such a desperate scam by a company I just can’t deal with this crap anymore.. I’m only on Uber eats for now and I hope it doesn’t start happening there now, but so far so good.

That had nothing to do with his door dash pay account, the reporter said it wrong!!! It doesn’t matter if you use dasher direct or your own bank,once you click that link they change your pay method to their bank and cash it out! So this scam would work on ANY door dash account,no matter your pay option.
@@bobg3221 they don’t need your bank info. What they do is change the payout method to one of their accounts and just cash out. They don’t need anything from anyone! Cashing out daily is the safest option. Door dash should make it to where you have to verify your old method before you can change it to a new one.

I left the restaurant and called support, they told me to tell the restaurant to remake the order, the restaurant REFUSED to remake it, so I assume the support agent thought I had stolen the food which I have NEVER stolen anything in my life. I unassigned the order and hung up. So a combination of a Dasher Thief + Garbage Restaurant + Support Agent Who Can’t Even Speak Coherent English and that’s why I was deactivated. Checked my email later that week and then couldn’t sign into my account. “Fraud 🥲🥲” DoorDash is a joke.
Also if the customer steals the food it actually doesn't effect the restaurant, the restaurant gets paid regardless. The doordash credits come out of doordash's pockets. That's why they blame the driver first. Restaurants refuse to remake the order which screws over the driver's the most. They could easily solve this by verifying that the driver has started the delivery but instead no one is willing to do that so again the driver is the one who gets screwed the worst. Sometimes it's hard to even get compensated the 3$ for stolen orders. I've had support say "we're so sorry you've had this happen, here's how to avoid it in the future" WHAT?! Avoid other drivers stealing food? I'm sick of it. I just cancel without saying anything anymore. I've already gotten in trouble for other drivers stealing an order and I get left with nothing. Also some customers will sit outside of a restaurant, order food, go inside and take their order and drive home. They won't put a tip on the order so they know no one will pick it up. False. The restaurant gets a deduction from their account. They lose the money. The whole order plus fees added to it.i worked at a restaurant prepandemic and after. I saw the accounts. It definitely shows up as a charge back bc I had to prove how much money we were making off of the delivery apps to keep them. My owner wanted to dump them and insult the drivers.... Until he saw delivery was 65% of his sales.

It happened to me last week a customer order from MC DONALD ( 1 )cookie, the second I get to the store I get a phone call ,caller ID say doordash,the person telling me that this is doordash 2023 test and told me not to pick up the order ,send me link to fill up form asking my email address ........I called support and remove the order /and report scammer.
I have heard of customers giving an address around 2 miles away. Once you pick up the order they call you and tell you they accidentally entered the wrong address and it is actually 6-7 miles away or more and want you to deliver it there instead.
Yes that is true..It happened to me. I contacted DD and was instructed to proceed to original address, find a safe place to leave the order, take a photo at location of where I left it and continue dashing.
I had one of those. Told the customer I am on my way back to return the food to the restaurant. He immediately agreed to meet me at the original location. It's not that they don't know our earnings are by the mile, more miles means less earnings by going further, it's that they don't care.
I got one where the old address was 6 miles away and the new one was 1 miles away but it was a stacked order and the other delivery was first so 🤷♀️ I had to double back to make the delivery after. I was ok with it bc it was near a busy area but I've had them be 10 miles away. Just no. If they call and I haven't accepted the food yet, I tell them to call customer service and cancel and reorder with the correct address. Usually I dump the order too bc I don't get paid enough for all that. 🤷♀️
I delivered once to a dasher who told me she tipped me $6.50. After the dash was complete we looked and saw her tip was $5.50. Yes they do steal our tips
I had a shop and deliver order. Got everything on their list. Not 5 minutes after I dropped it off, I got a 1 star rating and they said everything I got was wrong. DoorDash within 12 hours realized they were full of it, and I’m going to assume their account got deactivated because the 1 star was gone(not put into the excluded).
@@Xavi2goated They place the order. Then they gamble that the order will be ready before a driver gets there. They have the necessary information to fool the restaurant that they are the driver and takes the order. The thief (not customer) then will state they never received the order.
The last scam happened where I delivered the supposable first order and it was wrong. The customer reordered and I ended up delivering to the person again and was tipped twice over it! Also, I average about 1 in every 100 orders is stolen. Just this weekend I had to stop a homeless bum from stealing my order at our local Mc Donalds. I walk in and see the last three on the bag receipt and his filthy unwashed blackened hands touching it. I literally caught this guy as he was starting to take it off the shelf right in front of the useless Mc employees!
Hand it to me orders should be more like them having a pin on there phone they have to give it to you enter it and then u proceed to hand them the order that way doordash knows you actually met the customer
You forgot one scam. The diner sits outside the restraunt places the order. Put no tip on the order so there is a slim chance of a dasher picking it up before the food is ready. They then add a tip and wait for a dasher to pick it up or don't add a tip. Go in and pick up the food themselves then when the dasher get's to the restraunt to get the order. The restraunt says someone already picked it up.

I am trying to combat the drivers who steal food by telling restaurants to ask to see them start the delivery. They can't steal it if they already started delivery. I'm so sick of it and actually if the restaurant and customer report it as stolen, the last driver gets the notification (we see you weren't able to complete a delivery blah blah blah) I HATE thieves. I hope I catch these thieves
That generally happens with non tipping customers food which I don’t have any remorse for because they’re usually the same ones that are the most entitled however it’s pathetic if it happens to a customer who’s actually tipping well and respects the drivers time then yes those people who do that to the good customers should be punished for it. Doordash base pay in itself is poverty and nobody should be accepting clown orders to begin with but those who consistently do earn by time are the ones taking all the trash but that’s on them.
They will wait until you get to the doorstep, as you are about to snap a picture; they press cancel on you. In that case before take food back to the car , call support and let them know that you have arrived at front door and you are outside the front door, but they canceled order as you are ready to take a picture. DOORDASH will mark as delivered and pay you the full amount for the delivery . They will know you tell the truth because they can see your location on the map.

There are areas like my private neighborhoods have all the corner houses numbered the exact same # & GPS does not work here... drivers don't always look at street signs (which I tell them to do since I live on a corner & GPS will tell them the house is 2 streets away)... anyway, we actually have issues with regular pizza deliveries too & I get wakened up at 11pm on a Friday for Papa John drivers looking for a street that is on the other side of the mobile home park, but GPS sends them to me. READ the directions if they are GIVEN. I say this for a reason as I am disabled so can't get food myself anymore plus I used to do this type of work. I have had several times my food really doesn't show up because drivers don't follow directions given by me so they find the correct home.

actually happened to me yesterday went to a Chinese place and they said a dasher already picked up.. i was pretty pissed about it since it was a 8$ for like 2 miles by my house and the place was packed so i didnt want to wait for them to remake it so i just reassigned it again..
That’s when you call support and say someone already picked up the order. Happened to me today and they gave me half of what I was going to make for my time. Also happened to my sister! Call support! They are extremely helpful
one year I had a case where a restaurant saw that a customer had had a followup order. so put that 2nd with the first. and the previous driver delivered it all. the cashier told it to me up front. my back then self drove to the house anyway so I could complete the order and get paid. in the days before taking a photo was a requirement not an option
That's just messed up... just don't take the order if it doesn't show a tip. Now Door dash doesn't always show full tip amounts either, so you may be screwing yourself out of a bigger tip - I used to do this type of work; work smarter, not harder

I know you’re saying don’t take it if it has no tip but I genuinely think that No sane individual should be depreciating their vehicle for some poverty base pay with 0 tip which will severely harm you financially and I don’t feel bad for clowns who don’t tip and get their stuff stolen. I post this comment everywhere, anyone that receives goods in any capacity and then gets issued a refund, that's is a misdemeanor crime petty theft under 500....same goes for a driver stealing food or goods
First of all they should stop with this dropping off at the door, they should actually hand it to the customer and get a PIN number, second of all a restaurant should make sure the Dasher verifies the order so they won't steal the food
No a customer does not get your real number and you as a driver do not get the customers real number. DoorDash uses a 3rd party intermediary. You are calling the intermediary and they forward your call to the real number and vice-versa ... same with texts and this is why your ability to contact a customer after delivery vanishes after 10 minutes post delivery.

You have some incorrect info regarding Doordash's payout methods. Doordash does not have a bank. They can not hold your money indefinitely like a bank can. DD however has a service called Dashdirect. It is a partnership with Stride Bank. If you opt for Dashdirect then your pay is transferred into a Stride Bank account at the end of your shift. You can then access your funds immediately by using the debit/atm card provided by Stride, paying bills online or transferring the money to another account. So if you're concerned about DD holding your money then you're better off using Dashdirect because you get your money that same day as opposed to waiting until the following Tuesday for DD to deposit the money directly into your account.

No it's the hand it to mes who won't come to the door and now I have to awkwardly stand at your front door for 5 minutes waiting to take a picture. I wear a body cam so IDGAF. I got proof I was there, delivered and left and went to my next pick up. 🤷♀️
@@marieblankenship8592 Yeah I have a hat cam and I love it, it literally and I believe that it is keeping customers in check now. I video all of my drop-off's so I have proof for doordash. I even say the name of the customer and give the address so that doordash can physically see everything for themselves where item's are left and proof if need be for them. A body cam is also a great idea too. Don't forget your car, you should totally get a dashcam too.
Take a photo with your phone anyway and save it or send it to them in a message. I’ve been recording my dashes on a body cam to avoid this but I still get shady people trying to scam the system.

The scam with the person calling saying the order was cancelled is the costomer themselves calling you. They used the doordash platform to order food to such and such address. Not even their address. They then call you saying they are doordash support and the order had been cancelled. I had it happen to me once, I told the person on the phone if he wants the order cancelled, go into the app and cancel it. He hung up, I then proceeded to call support and inform them that the client was impersonating doordash support. I got an email from doordash after that about the person's account being banned and it was under investigation.
when i was new i got offended when they would ask me to see my screen and force me to click pickup before they handed me the order but after a few weeks i started thanking them for doing that because i realised it actually helps me since theyre making sure some random person isnt taking my order. i say thank you very much i really appreciate you making sure im the right dasher.
I don't let anyone force me to click that I've picked up the food already because that starts the delivery clock if that food ain't ready I am not clicking confirmed that I have picked up that order

I can’t afford to play games with door dash nor am I going to give them 30 percent of my sales. I will have the food ready so the dasher doesn’t have to wait. But I expect my money

Good video! Most of the time I had a no tip customer trying to scam DoorDash driver’s in my market. When I first started food delivery with DoorDash I had a customer that said they did not receive their order but I dropped off the order as they said leave at door. Lastly I don’t have a dasher direct account, so I could not get scammed because there is no account. Most of the time I ignore unfamiliar numbers unless I’m expecting a call from someone using an unfamiliar number.
When they call me pretending to be Uber or door dash... I tell them that it's dangerous and illegal for me to be using the phone while driving. I'll pull over and call them back. Then I hang up and immediately call the app customer service and let them know.
I mostly use DoorDash direct pay to pay for gas due to the 2% cash back they offer.
You're better off getting a cash back credit card and paying off the balance at the end of the week. I use the points to get 50 cents off per gallon at BP and Shell.

I think the scam you said about a dasher stealing food is when they unassigned and when the new driver goes to pick it up and the store said they already picked it up lol I seen that so many times that’s probably exactly what happens when they say they picked it up then unassigning it like you said.

The third one happened to a friend of mine. They wiped out his bank account and DD support was no help. Two days later, he is still getting angry calls from "customers" all over the country.
This has happened to me multiple times as well. People stealing orders. I end up picking up food and the restaurant claiming someone picked up the food smh

I use Dasher Direct and was deactivated once and I still had access to my pay. But since that happen I don’t take any chances now soon as my pay goes in my dasher direct account I move it with Apple Pay just in case.
I always spend my dd money first and take cash back at the grocery store just in case. I nearly zero the card out every time.

I just wanted to comment on my issues with door dash as a customer.
I had just gotten back from being out of state and forgot to change the address back once I got home.
Well… I ordered food but the second the confirmation page popped up I realized my mistake and immediately canceled the order.
I canceled it within less than a minute from ordering.
What did I get refunded back?? $18 on an $85 order for 30 seconds!!!
It’s completely insane.. there is no way I put anyone out of a dime when I cancelled within a minute..
I would even be fine with a service charge.., but door dash literally stole $70 from me and they just don’t care.
I immediately canceled my dash pass and deleted the app. I’ve never cancelled an order in my life.. I don’t think I’ve even ever complained!! I’m a “roll with the punches” type of person.
This is such a desperate scam by a company I just can’t deal with this crap anymore.. I’m only on Uber eats for now and I hope it doesn’t start happening there now, but so far so good.

That had nothing to do with his door dash pay account, the reporter said it wrong!!! It doesn’t matter if you use dasher direct or your own bank,once you click that link they change your pay method to their bank and cash it out! So this scam would work on ANY door dash account,no matter your pay option.
@@bobg3221 they don’t need your bank info. What they do is change the payout method to one of their accounts and just cash out. They don’t need anything from anyone! Cashing out daily is the safest option. Door dash should make it to where you have to verify your old method before you can change it to a new one.

The “hand it to me” scammers are so out of control here, that I take a Timestamped photo before knocking, hand them the order, then hit “could not deliver to customer” and start the 5 minute timer, so DD has an imbedded photo to know the customer is lying. TikTok is an absolute criminal menace.

I left the restaurant and called support, they told me to tell the restaurant to remake the order, the restaurant REFUSED to remake it, so I assume the support agent thought I had stolen the food which I have NEVER stolen anything in my life. I unassigned the order and hung up. So a combination of a Dasher Thief + Garbage Restaurant + Support Agent Who Can’t Even Speak Coherent English and that’s why I was deactivated. Checked my email later that week and then couldn’t sign into my account. “Fraud 🥲🥲” DoorDash is a joke.
Also if the customer steals the food it actually doesn't effect the restaurant, the restaurant gets paid regardless. The doordash credits come out of doordash's pockets. That's why they blame the driver first. Restaurants refuse to remake the order which screws over the driver's the most. They could easily solve this by verifying that the driver has started the delivery but instead no one is willing to do that so again the driver is the one who gets screwed the worst. Sometimes it's hard to even get compensated the 3$ for stolen orders. I've had support say "we're so sorry you've had this happen, here's how to avoid it in the future" WHAT?! Avoid other drivers stealing food? I'm sick of it. I just cancel without saying anything anymore. I've already gotten in trouble for other drivers stealing an order and I get left with nothing. Also some customers will sit outside of a restaurant, order food, go inside and take their order and drive home. They won't put a tip on the order so they know no one will pick it up. It's so fked up!
False. The restaurant gets a deduction from their account. They lose the money. The whole order plus fees added to it.i worked at a restaurant prepandemic and after. I saw the accounts. It definitely shows up as a charge back bc I had to prove how much money we were making off of the delivery apps to keep them. My owner wanted to dump them and insult the drivers.... Until he saw delivery was 65% of his sales.

It happened to me last week a customer order from MC DONALD
( 1 )cookie, the second I get to the store I get a phone call ,caller ID say doordash,the person telling me that this is doordash 2023 test and told me not to pick up the order ,send me link to fill up form asking my email address ........I called support and remove the order /and report scammer.
I have heard of customers giving an address around 2 miles away. Once you pick up the order they call you and tell you they accidentally entered the wrong address and it is actually 6-7 miles away or more and want you to deliver it there instead.
I've had that happen several times with door dash
Yes that is true..It happened to me. I contacted DD and was instructed to proceed to original address, find a safe place to leave the order, take a photo at location of where I left it and continue dashing.
I had one of those. Told the customer I am on my way back to return the food to the restaurant. He immediately agreed to meet me at the original location. It's not that they don't know our earnings are by the mile, more miles means less earnings by going further, it's that they don't care.

I got one where the old address was 6 miles away and the new one was 1 miles away but it was a stacked order and the other delivery was first so 🤷♀️ I had to double back to make the delivery after. I was ok with it bc it was near a busy area but I've had them be 10 miles away. Just no. If they call and I haven't accepted the food yet, I tell them to call customer service and cancel and reorder with the correct address. Usually I dump the order too bc I don't get paid enough for all that. 🤷♀️
I delivered once to a dasher who told me she tipped me $6.50. After the dash was complete we looked and saw her tip was $5.50. Yes they do steal our tips
I had a shop and deliver order. Got everything on their list. Not 5 minutes after I dropped it off, I got a 1 star rating and they said everything I got was wrong. DoorDash within 12 hours realized they were full of it, and I’m going to assume their account got deactivated because the 1 star was gone(not put into the excluded).

The last scam happened where I delivered the supposable first order and it was wrong. The customer reordered and I ended up delivering to the person again and was tipped twice over it! Also, I average about 1 in every 100 orders is stolen. Just this weekend I had to stop a homeless bum from stealing my order at our local Mc Donalds. I walk in and see the last three on the bag receipt and his filthy unwashed blackened hands touching it. I literally caught this guy as he was starting to take it off the shelf right in front of the useless Mc employees!

Hand it to me orders should be more like them having a pin on there phone they have to give it to you enter it and then u proceed to hand them the order that way doordash knows you actually met the customer
You forgot one scam. The diner sits outside the restraunt places the order. Put no tip on the order so there is a slim chance of a dasher picking it up before the food is ready. They then add a tip and wait for a dasher to pick it up or don't add a tip. Go in and pick up the food themselves then when the dasher get's to the restraunt to get the order. The restraunt says someone already picked it up.

I am trying to combat the drivers who steal food by telling restaurants to ask to see them start the delivery. They can't steal it if they already started delivery. I'm so sick of it and actually if the restaurant and customer report it as stolen, the last driver gets the notification (we see you weren't able to complete a delivery blah blah blah) I HATE thieves. I hope I catch these thieves
That generally happens with non tipping customers food which I don’t have any remorse for because they’re usually the same ones that are the most entitled however it’s pathetic if it happens to a customer who’s actually tipping well and respects the drivers time then yes those people who do that to the good customers should be punished for it. Doordash base pay in itself is poverty and nobody should be accepting clown orders to begin with but those who consistently do earn by time are the ones taking all the trash but that’s on them.

In that case before take food back to the car , call support and let them know that you have arrived at front door and you are outside the front door, but they canceled order as you are ready to take a picture.
DOORDASH will mark as delivered and pay you the full amount for the delivery .
They will know you tell the truth because they can see your location on the map.
If i show up and someones already got the order and unassigned i always contact support so i dont get blamed for it later.

There are areas like my private neighborhoods have all the corner houses numbered the exact same # & GPS does not work here... drivers don't always look at street signs (which I tell them to do since I live on a corner & GPS will tell them the house is 2 streets away)... anyway, we actually have issues with regular pizza deliveries too & I get wakened up at 11pm on a Friday for Papa John drivers looking for a street that is on the other side of the mobile home park, but GPS sends them to me. READ the directions if they are GIVEN. I say this for a reason as I am disabled so can't get food myself anymore plus I used to do this type of work. I have had several times my food really doesn't show up because drivers don't follow directions given by me so they find the correct home.
I just call support and they pay a half of the order for my time but that pissed me off

one year I had a case where a restaurant saw that a customer had had a followup order. so put that 2nd with the first. and the previous driver delivered it all. the cashier told it to me up front. my back then self drove to the house anyway so I could complete the order and get paid. in the days before taking a photo was a requirement not an option

That's just messed up... just don't take the order if it doesn't show a tip. Now Door dash doesn't always show full tip amounts either, so you may be screwing yourself out of a bigger tip - I used to do this type of work; work smarter, not harder
@@ecm8948 You only have a good chance of knowing whether the order has a tip or not if you’re on earn per order but on earn by time, you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into and when you accept an order using earn by time which sucks, you can only see the tip amount when you go to Home Screen and hit return dash. Non tippers are entitled generally and don’t deserve to have their orders delivered. I know you’re saying don’t take it if it has no tip but I genuinely think that No sane individual should be depreciating their vehicle for some poverty base pay with 0 tip which will severely harm you financially and I don’t feel bad for clowns who don’t tip and get their stuff stolen. It’s disrespectful to the driver and inconsiderate of their time.

I was forced to use Dasher Direct because my chime card quit being compatible for some reason. I have another bank now, but do not want to have to wait for security verifications to get done.

I post this comment everywhere, anyone that receives goods in any capacity and then gets issued a refund, that's is a misdemeanor crime petty theft under 500....same goes for a driver stealing food or goods
First of all they should stop with this dropping off at the door, they should actually hand it to the customer and get a PIN number, second of all a restaurant should make sure the Dasher verifies the order so they won't steal the food

I believe that all delivery apps use a third party connection for calls and texts.
No a customer does not get your real number and you as a driver do not get the customers real number. DoorDash uses a 3rd party intermediary. You are calling the intermediary and they forward your call to the real number and vice-versa ... same with texts and this is why your ability to contact a customer after delivery vanishes after 10 minutes post delivery.

You have some incorrect info regarding Doordash's payout methods. Doordash does not have a bank. They can not hold your money indefinitely like a bank can. DD however has a service called Dashdirect. It is a partnership with Stride Bank. If you opt for Dashdirect then your pay is transferred into a Stride Bank account at the end of your shift. You can then access your funds immediately by using the debit/atm card provided by Stride, paying bills online or transferring the money to another account. So if you're concerned about DD holding your money then you're better off using Dashdirect because you get your money that same day as opposed to waiting until the following Tuesday for DD to deposit the money directly into your account.

I saw a tiktok of someone saying that they’re pushing orders to people who chose to do hourly pay so that those kinds of orders will be taken care of instead of giving orders to people who work by order’s pay.
I tried hourly and it was not bad but i make more money with the other option. I kept having the hourly one send me more miles than dollars.
