I actually remember the Syma X8 fondly. My dad brought it home because they wanted him to sell them in these stores he worked for and gave him a demo model. He told me to try it out, I also am always trying to make sure my dog feels loved, so I brought my dog and the drone out to a big open field and let my dog chase it around. He'd catch it here and there but that thing kept flying lol. Now, years later, my dog can hear a drone flying nearby before I can. Which I suppose will be useful when Skynet takes over lol
Love your number one choice, I still use it more than any one of my DJI products, and I have them all.

I really respect this guy for the simple reason that he wants you to dislike the video if you don’t enjoy it and to tell him why you didn’t enjoy it so he can work to improve. That simple thing is very admirable.

I paid $106 for my Sky Viper Journey in 2019 and just flown it for my first time last weekend for the Fourth of July. I think it’s great! the cameras awesome it does a barrel roll in any direction, it follows me, it has a return to home button that makes it land where it took off at. if you get into a bad situation. It’s like an abort button or lol. I love this and for a drone to be better and more costly than this then it would have to be able to have a device on it to release packages onto a prison yard. The sky viper journey can do everything I need it to. I do wish it would fly higher but I’m not yet a professional pilot at flying it so I will upgrade when the time comes. Money is not an issue I just saw it at target when I was Christmas shopping…

Autel Evo/Evo 2 out of my price range. I've got a Fimi X8SE 2020 w/4 batteries, intelligent charger and hard case, plus a Bugs 12 EIS to do the "experimental flights" with more risk. Love the list, it is very close to what I looked at!
Plus the Anafi sits on my wish list for next purchase.

Nice show. I'm personally a big fan of anafi, although to be fair, I did some work on the remote and installed a 5G antenna which double the distance and protected from any intereference.

I love my Anafi. Its does so many things well. Batteries are expensive though.
They aren't as bad as some of the competitor prices
You mentioned the nazgul but you forgot about the quads that can mount a 360 camera

I just bought the Parrot Anafi and I am having trouble getting my iPhone 11 to connect to the FreeFlight6 app. The drone and controller are connecting but my phone won’t recognize me being connected to the controller. I am using my iPhone charge to connect to the controller. Do you have any advice?

Autel is a great camera ship, but be careful when buying them. Their batteries are junk. They simply don't withstand many charges before going bonkers. Ive owned a lot of DJIs and their batteries are superior in all aspects to autel's. Do your research on this before dropping near a grand for one, and not being able to find the batteries when you will need them.

This is an excellent video of different types and prices. As I’m still looking for a good beginning drone, this has a great selection. I do have a question: my wife knows of my interest and as sweet as she is, she got me one from a mall kiosk during Christmas of course having no idea what to look for. I went back to the mall for instructions it of course he was gone. It is an Utronix Lilo 800, it’s supposed to use a smart phone to use the camera though zero instructions for an app or how to use it. No website or info anywhere. Are you familiar with it and can you lead me to instructions? I don’t want to get another drone without at least trying to get this one to work. It has been difficult at best to even fly the thing. Thanks.

The EXO Drones are rebranded models of MJX and ZLL drones. You can buy them retail for about $150-200. EXO may be the biggest scam in drones out there.

I just tried to fly my Ranger 7*, went thru calibration, and then placed the joysticks down and out and the props spun. It then said to click the take-off button and I don't know what/where that is. A button, or on the screen?
Hello Jack, thank you for this video. Currently I'm the proud owner of a DJI Mini2. I use it to shoot video of our windsurf adventures (YT: Windsurfing is a way of life). Unfortunately something happened last weekend and the drone felt in the water. We've dived for two hours but unfortunately we didn't find it. I´m working with DJI on the flight information and hopefully they will send me a new one. Nevertheless I'm also open to invest in a 'better' drone. I would really like to have a better camera, the 4K60. With the Mini2 I noticed that slow motion footage is not so beautiful as the slow motion footage from my GoPro's. Which drone would you suggest? If your going to sped 1k them just buy a DJI. You can't avoid remote ID I'd it's over 250 grams because all drones over 250 grans are required to be RID compliant and you can't turn it off.

Syma is one of the best cheap beginner drones out there. I recommend it as well as a starter, though I normally send them to the X5-C and then a all in one fpv camera .
oh, and yes I still have the X5C that I bought back in 2015, and it still flys.

@@gaberangel9315 it is the best “toy” grade, at least back then. I have not tested any in a while so I can not say what is now but, I still have a 6 year old syma x5c that still flys today. I have replaced the top shell and two motors but as it has crashed several times and it’s motors are brushed these things are normal.

Very well done.Thank You for your work. For our upcoming rules here in Germany ,the best Option for me ist the Anafi. I sold my Mini for the Anafi and the Mini 2 will be the Present for my neve . Anafi is much better in Wind very quiet, no DJI restriction and for me the best Option under 500grams. But this is my opinion , a DJI Fanboys dont like this ok , but they must to know that they are flying a " Nanny _ Drone " if they use DJI. I hate this chinese Control and i dont need a Nanny. I was really interested in your #1 choice but I cant find it for less than $800. That's way too far out of my $500 budget to try amd convince my wife!
I have a question for you guys. I am in the market for a drone to go dronefishing at sea. I don't want it to break the bank but okey, if it's worth it I ain't complaining. Am not going to use it in stormy weather but the north sea where I am fishing is kind of windy. I'd like the drone to be able to go atleast 1500 meters far over the sea(excuse my metric), have summon, gps and all that dodat. What am I looking at? Any suggestions? Will it have to be topnotch or can i get away with two axis stabilization. I have some prior experience with cheapo drones but those won't cut it imho.
You’ll need something reliable. I’d go with one of the DJI options
I just got my first drone. Its a parrot ANAFI. I hope it is half as good as you say. I'd be happy. One thing about it. I was mislead for my own research. I was under the impression that it was a french drone manufactured in America. Unfortunately it is manufactured in china:(. I will keep it and hopefull enjoy it anyway. If I do enjoy this hobby. Recently bought two GoPro cameras and kind of found a new joy in videography. Was wanting to try my hand with a drone, but I am afraid that if I purchase something expensive I’m going to end up crashing it and breaking it. Had my eye on a mavic mini 2. Probably can find a used one on eBay with some goodies for less than $400. Would that be a bad first choice? Should I pick up something cheap and learn to fly first? Just didn’t want to spend a few hundred bucks and then not be happy with what I have and end up spending more on the mavic. What would be an all-around good starting point for a beginner who wants high-quality video capability?
Mini 2 is a great place to start
DJI has "ALMOST" idiot proofed their stuff. If you watch a couple of videos or read and follow instructions. DJI has made it ridiculously easy to fly.
If you are okay with used. Bought a Mavic 2 Zoom for 450 2 days ago. Came with hard case 4 batteries, filters , Xtra props etcetera. And the M2's are still phenomenal drones. Far superior to everything on this list. Likelihood of you outgrowing it is slim.

DJI is getting so good that people have to watch video to learn to choose something not from them.

I’ll never buy DJI, or any drone that can be flight-restricted by its software, especially with Remote ID coming in 2023. My Fimi X8 has 112 flights and 355 flight miles on it... love this drone!

Hi Juan.. Your right about dji drones.. So can you for example fly say a couple of miles from a airport with your drone? I'm miles from the airport but because I'm in the flight path I can't even get footage of my house.. There's no flights at the weekend but still can't even take off..
@@eddiestevenson8446 Is that because you’re flying a DJI drone and it won’t let you launch? I don’t fly within 5 miles of airports or anywhere else I know I’m prohibited from launching/landing/flying over. But if I wanted to, my Hubsan and Fimi drones would let me. It’s certainly a personal preference whether to buy a UA that comes with flight restriction capability. Since I won’t be complying with remote ID, i definitely avoid them.

I live pretty far from the airport but just in the last part of the zone.. If I lived even a quarter of a mile away I would be ok to fly.. the I just want to fly a few hundred feet to get some good footage of my house.. any planes I do see are thousands of feet up, so me being a problem to they is zero.. So in a nutshell If I got the same model drone as you I would be able to take off and get my house footage? thanks for you help..

NEVER BUY DJI why? I did mavic pro $1600 later fly more Combo , I had it for 1 year never crashed it , in 4 months i had to buy a new camera gimbal then 2 months later a gimbal flex cable, then 2 more times gimbal flex wire , ,,nightmare after nightmare so much stress, Customer service was shit. Now I'm gonna do what I can to screw up their sales because people deserve better....
