I love how Martok thinks he is coming up with a novel tactic, then Sisko goes and shows that while humans are peaceful now, they weren’t always. You can sort of see it in Martoks face.
They should have considered making a show about this ship and crew. But instead we got Discovery. Why don’t they ever make the content people actually want to see? Even after we talk about it for years the writers of these shows just go “Oh the fans don’t know what they want to see! Lets fill up a ship with an all lesbian crew and a crying Spock instead!”
They now have political agendas and every writer/producer thinks they are fighting a culture war in which the famous IPs are their weapons to push their own desires on the public, canon and fandom be damned!

In truth Sisqo should’ve sent a cloaked Carrier with Federation fighters and Danube Class shuttles with them. The Fighters would act as a diversion and the Danube as escape crafts.
Klingon photon torpedoes suck! They have less range than WW II unguided bombs. Seriously, did the director base the base attack scene on teh Pearl Harbor attack? They could have decloak and fired from orbit. A planet side base has terrible maneuverability to dodge photon torpedoes.
Birds of Prey are Close attack Ships. their weapons are meant to be used CLOSE. also the base defenses can shoot down torpedoes fired from high orbit. Vor'cha class ships might be able to launch enough but Negh'Var class ships would overwhelm it in seconds. but remember that wasn't the plan. the plan was to damage it and run. thus the class of ships they brought.
@stevensimison625 is there any suggestion trek weapons are accurate enough to shoot down incoming torpedoes? I don't recall anything along those lines until lower decks. Heck I have seen near misses on and by Ent-D
@@davidlewis5312 Yes actually. star trek generations. Worf states that it would take 15 seconds to lock on to a probe fired from veridian 3. Now mind you it would take 11 to go from the planet to the star. so digest the factors here. one probes in trek tend to use the same systems. (lazy I know) but in simple terms a probe and torpedo move the same way and at similar speeds. second Worf has no idea where the probe is being launched from, so scanning for, identifying, targeting, and then firing takes that long. Now with a ship bombarding you from orbit. Ships can't fire from cloak. (most of the time) enemy ship decloaks ALL your sensors FOCUS on that ship. it starts shooting torpedoes from high orbit down at you. you see where they are coming from and your LIGHT biased energy weapons target anything coming out of that ship. This is why there are Phasers or Disrupters. those things melt energy shields and manage to damage your target as the energy fields and particle screens reenergize where they have been dissipated. when they are weak or disabled. THATS when you torpedo them to death. when you have a base that can hold 10,000 the POWER it can put to the shields, is immense. but its not moving. thus the style of attack. swoop down, decloak, blast with what you got, get the hell out.
All these space shows are ridiculous when it comes to scales. The sheer scale of space is never depicted, because you would never see more than one thing in a frame.
I truly love those Klingon Birds of Prey Ships. Absolutely beautiful and elegant war machines!!
But they are destroyed so easily!

The first time we see surface-to-space weapons in Star Trek.
As you'd expect really, not limited by power constraints and size constraints of a starship.

There's no way it could be a novel tactic, it's way too basic. Klingons might just have a different term for it, like "twenty good men" or something.

You do know that Star Trek is all about free love. Thus, Trekkies have no issue with lesbians.
This is one of my favorite DS9 episodes.

Their support ships are such bad asses. They stay with lead nomatter if there Captain and First Officers are dead!!
Such a shame that Klingon starship design apparently suffers from the same "C4-laced control panels" problem as the UFP.

Nothing in Star Trek matches that.
