So glad I grew up with MW2, BO1, Battlefield bad company 2 and Battlefield 3
It WAS tied to Tom Clancy. But when it was announced last year, people relentlessly shit on Ubisoft for having the audacity to use his name with a cringey hero shooter. They called it spitting on his grave.
Fast forward a year later and you will see that the game is no longer Tom Clancy's XDefiant. It's now just XDefiant. They also seem to have dropped the "punk rock moshpit" gimmick they were calling it last year.

I'm sick and tired of "heroes", their superpowers, the stupid skins, the entire concept of the game catering to cosmetics, weapon charms (lmao) instead of gameplay.

At the very least. bring in custom soldiers. If someone wants to look like some cyberpunk with neon, let them, they'll stick out and get targeted. Let the rest of us make our own "tacticool" operators.

generic contemporary weapons are good because players don't have to guess what a weapon is going to be like. That's something that fucks me up on games like Apex.

When the game was first announced it was called “Tom Clancy’s XDefiant” but they later dropped the “Tom Clancy’s” from the name
I think it's fun for being a beta, but the whole hero shooter thing is getting really old for me personally, I just want classic military style FPS games to come back like what Cod and BF used to be. I see this as the Cod communities version of what Splitgate was to the Halo community, just being played as a filler game until the next Cod game releases. I hope this game does well but most of these F2P games being labelled as "clone" or "killer" always fall down the same path of dying off pretty quick.

Yeah, I really hope atleast Battlefield would stop catering to kids and step up the gritty war/military aesthetics for the next game. It feels like literally every single AAA FPS is nowadays made for children.
In contents of the game haven't necessarily changed compared to the alphas 2 years ago, I'd say stuff like that code systems and stuff have changed over time quite a bit I think they were actually better earlier on , so it's a bit confusing as a long-term tester

This game is actually dope yeah the hero shooter shit we can do without but it’s still very nice the gunplay really won me over I can’t wait for the comp fights
Not sure if they gave out too many beta test keys or if they weren't quite ready with the servers. I hope it succeeds too, but there's too many Shatterlines and the like that come and go before they're even really out.
This game got an update last night it for sure got much much better lag and inconsistency wise still getting dying behind the cover here and there but it’s like 75-80% now at its potential for me at least
It's partially to pass of bugs, but it's also to update it more they don't have to get approved by Steam every time they have to change something or add something.

Pretty much where i'm at too. Played this game since June 2022 in the alpha tests and it's been a good ride seeing it improve so from that stand point i do believe the developers and their ambitions. The one promise i hope they deliver on is having 60hz tickrate servers for launch and also improved netcode; they've stated that they have fixed almost all issues for the netcode but it wasn't quite ready to make it to this build of the beta

I’m a guy who just enjoys shooting games. I’ll play anything and everything I can. I like the really realistic games like Arma and Tarkov. I like games like COD and battlefield. Even the advanced movement cods. I like futuristic shooters such as Halo,Destiny, and Titanfall. I enjoy 3RD person shooters such as Rogue Company and Fortnite. I like Battle Royal games to. All that matters to me is if the game is good. I will gladly point out things a game does well even if it’s a bad game. But even if the games is popular such as MW2022 I will also point out its flaws. Hoping XDefiant can be a great game. Only time will tell.

The finals will be so much better than ths to be honest. Not too mention Embark studios is full of dice devs form the old school battlefield games that we all love.
Im also very interested in the Finals and looking forward to play but i dont think you should compare these titles. They have a different Gameplay loop.

When I heard they would taking advice from "Pro Players" I almost didn't try it. I'm glad I wasn't the only one that felt it was a bit generic and very buggy.
The advice from pro players part should make you WANT to try it. They know what they're talking about WAY more than the average player lol

I agree wholeheartedly Edge. My thoughts on this game exactly. As soon as I heard "hero shooter" I checked out. The slow tactical gunplay also didn't help any.
So I'm on PS5, don't play warzone, but play multi-player and DMZ. My only problem I have is the prevalence of 6 man squads in DMZ. Apart from that what's everyone angry about MW2 over?
I've played this game for 2 hours and it fun because is a hero FPS game but a fast paced 6v6 not a br which is fun. I stopped playing after getting killed by people that isn't even on my screen which is really annoying but this game is very well optimized. I was getting over 300fps which is a no no in 6V6 COD.

The FPS market is literally flooded with these arcadey hero shooters accompanied by crazy wacky character and weapon skins. Why can't we get even ONE good AA/AAA game that brings back those realistic war aesthetic just like how Battlefield used to be up until BFV.
If they came out with a game that’s like Sifu but based around gun play and doing cool gun kills, that game would absolutely blow up. It’d be like The Matrix mixed with John Wick mixed with Wanted. It would absolutely blow up.
Check out “Out of Action” literally what you just described. It’s a game in early development but they just had a play test, you can find gameplay on JackFrags’ channel.

UI is very similar to COD:Ghosts
I haven’t played it yet but it seems that the enemy characters are kinda floaty. The animations seem really stiff and they don’t seem to react to getting shot u less they die.
The game isn't bad. It just isn't good. It doesn't do anything to separate itself from other available options other than it feels like an older COD. I got BO4 vibes from the gameplay.

I bet it'll be Pay To Win, Predatory Grindy (with microtransactions to skip grind), Rigged (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking), ect.
As well as lack: self hosted servers, mod support, and any resemblance of game ownership (Game as a Service titles die off completely when the servers shut down).
The maps do look cool and kinda unique in a way... but overall I'm just not interested.
The only COD-like game that I'm interested in right now is "Combat Master" which is a mobile game (Steam version is in the works though, and should be available soon hopefully).
The only reason I'm interested in it, is because it's free and relatively well optimized (therefore I might be able to get friends to play it, even ones who don't have a ton of money or a nice PC) but it's not ruined by greedy microtransactions (they do have a few bundles, but they're not gambling lootboxes... and the devs have to make money on the game somehow) and it also runs offline and you can play with bots (bypassing rigged matchmaking systems and ensuring you don't run into cheaters/smurfers/reverse boosters).
Its f2p so i‘ll give it try.. can only get better and if not, i’ve lost nothing. With all the shit that is on the market it can not get worse than it already is😎 love your content enders💪💪💪💪
The game is alright, I guess. Shooting feels lifeless, imo with the fact that shooting someone doesn't have enough impact. Sometimes, I honestly think I'm missing. The vector is pretty much the best gun in the game with the highest ttk with its only drawback is ammo. The ability feels fine until Libertad being the best with the ttk changing health. I'm gonna get flamed, and my opinion could be because it's a beta, and not a lot know, but this game is not friendly at all to average players because of lack of any sbmm, i dont want a strong one, but a soft one to level playing field while still having skilled players. Most people will assume a game will live on its arcade like nature, but forget most games backbone rely on the casual players, so this game will do for the hard-core cod players, but this game will be a sweat fest quick because I doubt anyone who want an hour to relax will choose this game first. I feel cod community want a cod killer so badly they're will to take casualties for it, that they're not going to realize why the game isn't fun anymore and blame the devs or something cause the one thing I noticed the community don't know what they ACTUALLY want its a common trend that the community won't admit, because EVERYONE thinks THEIR opinion is right and yours is wrong.

Dear FPS players who are calling XDefiant the "COD Killer," what exactly do you mean by that term? Do you mean CoD is gonna disappear overnight? Do you mean a total fanbase exodus?
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the game. It ticks all the boxes for us slightly older FPS fans who played games in the early 2010s. I just think the term "CoD Killer" needs to be fleshed out.
Since Cod is the biggest FPS game, just means people will try get any new upcoming game that has any slight resemblence in gameplay to Cod, to gain popularity to dethrone Cod, which in reality will never happen.
Rip tom Clancy's
Game is unbearably generic, but it does feel good to play (although the movement feels fucking awful...Worse than BF2042). Gunplay seems well enough, audio is really good imo. I do hope the game succeeds... Theres little to no innovation in the FPS genre and its killing the genre.

Ubisoft has the tools, ghost recon wildlands for instance had great levels of customization in terms of gear/kit to make your own operator.

2042 BY FAR has the most boring and uninspired "Heros" in thier shooter. I look through the different operators there and NONE of them really get me goat at all. Maybe its just in relation to the overall gameplay, but yeah, so many operators just seem to be nigh on useless. That game REALLY shoulda just gone with classes like older BF games from the jump. BF is not a Hero shooter...not at all.

Feels great but it have no chance to survive because of cheaters . It's literally every round not one but multiple players with sticky aim . Uninstalled and most likely won't back to it never again .
