This one of the best episodes simply because you get to see an exec being real... Shout out Bob Meyers
Gotta respect executives like Bob, cuz you can tell he genuinely loves his job and loves the players
He shouldn't have let kd play if he loved the players and make him feel like an outsider
@@deykno87 that’s not his job KD said himself he always felt like it was Steph’s team
Not just that he loves his job but he doesn't take himself or his job to serious and seems like he is just thankful cause seriously how can you not be when your job is just being a GM of a sports team lmfao I mean he's getting paid bank and it's freaking just a sport smh GMs and shit that take themselves and their jobs too serious are just retarded lol
I’d say he definitely loved his job but I gotta say it’s most likely because of the owner. Makes his job easier when the owner is actually willing to spend the money on what they need
@@skipbrainless7527 the man just said Steph makes his job easier lol
Really fascinating episode, Never saw Stack and Matt, especially Stack listen so closely to a guest. And the Bob take on NBA players sons is on point, you can see the same attitude with Klay, Jaren Jackson Jr and even GP2, Those guys feel different.
m only liking ur comment bcoz your highlights uploads fire bro🔥
Love your channel!!!
Even Wiggins dad played in the NBA.
You can tell how much respect Stack has for Bob
I was thinking the same thing
And vice versa - considering sport clothes, sweat and bottle on the ground😂
I wonder why. He gotta be attentive for massah.
@@rrogers2370 You’re ignorant
@@rrogers2370 bruh shut up, making it about race
You can feel the energy from bob meyers when he talks. Full of passion and it’s infectious. No wonder why the culture is so strong in GS. Love hearing his perspective on everything. All the smoke brings it! 👌🏽🏀💨
Edit - the garden snake mentality 😂
Bob Myers is one of the kindest, most thoughtful Front Office people in the NBA today. Great to hear how much he loved the Warriors growing up. Glad he came back to help make them great!!
The “Mamba Mentality” rant was perfect.
Time stamp?
30:20
LMAOOOO Bob had me dying with the Kobe section. Real talk though, Kobe was 1 of 1. Never will be anything like him. Rest well King Kobe
Did you hear about mike Jordan and Lebron James?
@@nine3seven lebron is better, but kobe is more iconic imo.
@@khristionlouvatin6874 Knock it off
@@levijojoan1188 haha. No he's not. Knock it off. Kobe better and more iconic.
What’s the time stamp?
Got to respect the golden state organization. They dont just talk about wanting to win, they actually intelligently get to business and win. They spend the money.
Winning culture.
Love listening to Bob Meyers. Reason 1) he’s an attorney and he’s not an arrogant know it all. His position is one in which your brainpower is depended upon to put together a group of players that can get along, play in a system, keep within the salary cap, compete against other squads, pick the right coach and develop the perfect overall synergy, and yet, he’s not an arrogant know it all. Listen to the interview, he talked about Matt and Stephen the whole time and just showered them with compliments while still being truthful when providing answers. He stays forever humble while shining the spotlight on everyone else, and yet he always remains the smartest guy in the room. And somehow, while juggling each of those elements, he keeps it real. He doesn’t provide canned political answers. He’s bashing kids imitating Steph while calling Steph the greatest player ever. There is no fat on his answers. They do not meander, they are straight forward and modern thinking. I’m sure someday the game will pass him by, time is undefeated, but for right now, no one “gets it” better than Bob Myers’s. And that’s not just the X’s and O’s, it’s the 5000 ft right down to sea level. His energy and passion is unrivaled amongst GMs. If cats aren’t listening, they should.
I think him playing college ball at UCLA and growing up in the Bay gave him a unique perspective. You can tell he's still a fan of the game and Warriors org, heavily invested in the players' careers.
I see a GM who is honest, humble and knows his thing.
Perfect gm for a guy like Steph
He’s so busy planning GSW next chip, they had to catch him after his workout.
Man I really feel we have the best ownership group. They’re personalities, charisma and passion for winning makes us fans feel like we’re always in good hands
Jermaine O'neal is such an underrated Warrior. Dude gave us so much vet leadership
Only wish that JO got a 💍 from it!
Solid, Solid player and person!
Facts bro.
We loved him in Portland as well. Was sad to see him go.
@@alanfortune3092man JO7 retired too early. I felt he still has A LOT in the tank even as a role player.
Bob with the handshake lol. He welcomed to the BBQ 😂. Shit he make me wanna be a warrior. Love his enthusiasm💯
That after-workout dopamine got Bob hyped! Can definitely tell how much he loves his job.
As crazy as it sounds this podcast is still severely underrated a ton of gems are being dropped in this episode 💎💎💎🔥
Gr8 Interview! Bob Myers Energy from the jump of the interview and his thoughts on Kobe are Priceless! Have to keep rewinding...
Watching 2 of the hardest guys in Matt and Stack read the manscape ad every episode makes me laugh everytime.
Bruh I was dying!😂
I thought i was the only one cracking up hella hard by myself. Shit is beyond hilarious.😂😂😂
Bob really is the best gm and it makes sense why GSW had the success they had. He cares but is very smart and considerate. This interview was perfect. His Kobe rant was hilarious but all factual !
That one caught me off guard. As a Warriors Fan I look forward to this Episode, even if it is a little shorter
This is the best nba podcast out. Also Bob is a real 1, you can hear it in his passion. Talking about winning mentality and the passion needed to play at the highest level in this manner and not just about talent, money and numbers/stats shows why the Warriors culture is just different.
Great interview! Bob Myers is the gold standard for GMs…very insightful comments. What he said about DeMarcus Cousins was interesting.
Wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was. Pleasantly surprising. One of the best episodes of this show
Got to hoop against this guy a few years back. He can ball for sure.
Did you know at the time who he was?
he played college ball
36:30 man so awesome, that you brought on Ridder. Everyone in the NBA speaks so positive about him. He must be a real dedicated, caring person.
probably going to be the most underrated interview on ALL THE SMOKE... Great conversation with BOB.
I can listen to Bob Myers preach all day. Such a raw interview. Much love to Matt and Stack Jack! The We Believe posse!
29:36 mamba mentality rant which was perfect couldn't of said it any better
Great podcast. Love the welcome and the energy from Bob Myers
Wish the “we let Mark go” would have been more of a conversation. Would love to hear from GSW execs their motivations and feeling about that move. Appreciate that he gave Mark Jackson his credit for getting things moving in the right direction.
I think I heard he talked about this somewhere some time ago
He was being a little too divisive and political in the locker room. That’s always been Mark’s style though. Problem is, Joe Lacob is an owner who wants to stay apprised at every turn. Jackson didn’t want that sort of relationship with an owner.
Bob riding that post pick-up game endorphin wave
Love this content. Bob Meyers is so real in this. He’s like the Poppavich of front offices. Great job on this one.
Bob Myers is a nice guy & a freakin bucket. I played with him at the Y and he was wet, I threw him a few ops (he didn’t dunk em but he finished them).
You know. I really like All the Smoke and gained a lot of respect for Bob Myers.
Just for Bob to say - how come parents don’t teach kids about winning? That kind of mentality is the BEST you can teach your kids in life! Everything about life is competitiveness and the WILL to compete! I respects him 10 times more than before this interview. You guys are doing a great job of hosting the channel and putting up interviews like this! Thank you, especially Barne whom I admired throughout his career for the competitiveness and will to help the team and teammates, a tough guy but honest. Great works you guys are doing!
As a Wizards fan, who hasn't seen my team win anything and the franchise last won in the 1970s, it is striking how divergent the Warriors and Wizards have gone over the last decade.
Joe Lacob took over the Warriors in 2010. Ted Leonsis became majority owner of Wizards in 2010. Both franchises in mediocrity since the 1970s. Lacob gets Jerry West and Bob Meyers in there. Ted keeps Ernie Grunfeld. That right there is the difference from going from a franchise that is viewed as a place no one wants to go to vs. transforming a franchise..
I’ve known Bob 45 years now. He’s the real deal. Great guy, passionate, hardworking etc. Guy has busted his buttt to get where he is. #respect
Bob's one of the many reasons why I love the Dubs so much! 🖤🏀🎯⚡
I always wanted to listen to Bob Myers speak because i know he’s the conductor of that warriors train and gathers all the pieces . Smart guy. Fun guy. And obvious Kobe fan which is a HUGE plus lol. I’m definitely a bob myers fan now
Bob does a weekly radio segment on 95.7 , its not too bad. This smoke episode with bob was fire 🔥
Bob just a grounded type of guy, straight shooter. loves the game.
The respect Stack and Matt have Bob and vice versa. 🙌🏾💯
Real fascinating interview. Bob Meyers dropped a lot of gems.
Nice glimpse of how important the right executives are to building a successful franchise.
Bob remind you of a basketball player/student of the game fan that loves and knows his job-born to be a GM.
Salute Bob never heard anyone say,
STOP with the Mamba Mentality use something else 🤣🤣🤣 Classic
EPIC INTERVIEW!!!! Best Damn Podcast PERIOD!!!!!! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Enjoyed this one so much!!! Bob a genius.
i remember that series, they have like a noise meter pop up on the screen of the tv
to measure the fans noise during the game
What A time that was! They were the 8th seed beating the one seed by feeding off of fan energy!
Thank god we got bob myers on our side. #DubNation
How many GMs would even consider? This was a great conversation!!! #ATS
You can tell he's a genuine guy and very intelligent of the game! He came to the show straight from the gym look at the sweat on his shirt#nodaysoff!
I can’t be the only one who finds the Manscaped commercials hilarious (especially Stak’s lines)😂😂😂
I love this show . . . been following since jump . . . what I enjoy better than other podcasts is not just the Stack & Matt and the guests but it's hearing the voice inflections and funny examples during the manscape breaks. Maaaaaaan, we need more outtakes of this, lol.
bob's always a great interview. amazing vid y'all
As a lifelong Warriors fan since Tim, Chris, and Billy Owens & got to experience the Bay during the We Believe era, that was awesome to watch. Much love to Stack, Matt, Bob and Ray. I would love to hear even more from Ray! Glad he's getting the love shown he deserves. Dope ass episode.
You guys are great. Great interview. Would love to see more of stuffs like this. The perspective of the people working behind. Bob is great. Is Steve next???
I love how much credit he gives to players! Man how can people hate the warriors, from management to Steve Kerr and curry they are all such nice people
The guy just got back from a workout LOL
Dude is fresh off a work out.
Great interview!!
Your ad breaks are f'n hilarious 😂.. great ep as always

one of my favorite episodes ever
Garden Snake Mentality , Matt Barnes u the goat 😂😂
This is a great episode fr! Wish it was longer
All the homies love Bob Myers
Really cool interview: I liked the different perspective of a GM, and I liked that the guys didn't ask Bob to get MJ on AllTheSmoke ;). keep it up Guys and God bless!
I was hesitant to watch this, but I am glad I did. Bob is a real one. Conversation was 🔥
Damn at first I was like wtf cause I don't know Bob that well. But man, by the end of this I was loving all the support.
Thats such a great point . The team is just as important in the outcome for players.
Amazing episode! Keep it up guys. Giving fans like me a true insight into the game and a deeper appreciation.
Great interview, love Bobs vibe
This was a great interview.
Loved this episode, you've got to bring Bob back! Wish you could have Ray on, I'm sure he has stories that would entertain for days....
Great interview! Thoughtful insight about the Warriors culture, maintenance and creating opportunities for people. Thanks
Mark Jackson turned the franchise around we have to admit that to get the story right. Steph Curry was a fringe player who failed to get traded to the Bucks. He drafted and developed Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes. Brought in key free agents David Lee and Sean Livingston. He totally made GS a attractable franchise before he was fired. Took the Dubs to the Playoffs in only 3 years as a first time head coach, no other manager done that prior to Jackson except for Don Nelson.
Best gm of his time 🐐
Guys like Myers and Coach Pop are super rare in today's world. We must value people like them. They are straight shooters and have zero bullshit
Great interview!! 🔥
Great interview. Bob is a solid dude. Great to see in talk in a intimate environment.
Bob seems like a cool cat & very honest no sugar coating.Raw & Uncut
This Was A Really Good Episode, Bob Myers Did An Incredible Job Being Honest While Also Selling Why Players Should Want To Come Play For The Warriors
Great interview
Easily one of my fav episodes. To hear things from a different perspective was really fun.
The way Bob talks about teams/organizations/players feels like hes a pretty fair and logical person.
Thank u so much for that Mamba mentally comment, feel the exact same way. That aint sth u just say like that, like at best u can only hope to remotely approach it.
Should def consider doing more episodes with gms/those behind the scenes. Only complaint is that this one ended waaay too quickly. Couldve easily listened to a few more hours of this. Please do another one with him at some point in the future.
Bob is a true basketball fan, big props.
Thank you for the Kobe love, he definitely doesn’t get enough respect.
Great discussion and so enlightening!
Man! That was a great episode!!
You can tell the way Bob holds his knee and fucks with his leggings that he plays ball for real 😂
he played for UCLA in college
Unbelievable episode, fantastic insight on the game.
Thank you for another Warriors content - a Warriors fan
Love the part about teaching the kids to value winning above all.
I tell the kids I coach all the time that they don't have to be the most skilled, but they need to have that dawg in em!
Ok this the best ATS Episode ever, real truth spoken here
A gem!!
the man myth and legend himself a GM i admire and i havent said that about many
Loved the podcast 🎉
I love Bob. Best GM in the world!
Best episode in recent memory
Holy shit Raymond Ridder! I remember always catching him doing his run during the day when I used to live in the Bay haha. Crazyyyy
Best one yet !
Gardner snake mentality 31:15 😂😂😂😂😂
Nobody:
Bob Myers: No you’re not mamba mentality 😂
