    Thanks for sharing! Not enough cinematographers talk about those bald spots. Before using Rogaine, you could have used my bald spot as a reflector. I could have lit up a room!

      I’m working on growing my bald spot. Did Rogaine do the trick for you? Have some before and after?
      I treat balding like I treat light the face. Make it soft and natural.
      Glad you enjoyed this one!

    Beautiful frames Piotr!
    The more documentaries I shoot, the better I like simple setups like this. It can be easy to go nuts with lighting and for certain projects, that is needed. But for documentaries, I much prefer matching your lighting to just enhance what is there.

      Thank you! Just turning off the overhead lights can result in a grip van exploding onto a set. It is not always needed. That is why I stayed smaller with my van setup.

    I enjoy your posts. I am a DP in a medical setting. Shoot frequently in very tight spaces. Using a softbox is rather cumbersome, I use a Genaray Square Sun 1x1 Soft Flood Bi-Color LED Light Panel. It's heavy but takes up a lot less real-estate. I also have 2 smaller Neewer panel leds. Use one as a backlight and the other as a fill. I'm roaming hospital corridors, need to have everything in a small package. The Genaray gives a nice look. I would prefer my Aputure 300's, but they're not practical.

      Thanks so much for watching! It takes time to dial in a setup for your use case. But when it finally comes together, it is magic. I do a lot of small dental shoots and have to keep kit small.

    These days , one key light , Intellytech mega 6,if room , or Astra lite panels with large DoP Choice soft box , fold out negative fill . No hair lights , fill , eye light etc . Sigma Art DGDN 35 /50 F1.4 . Some times Sig 50 and Sony 85.

    • @PDMokry
      @PDMokry  Před 10 měsíci

      I avoided hair lights for so long. But started back with a tube or mat light. The tubes deploy so quick. I don’t like to use a fill light, always bounce or negative. Only time I need a fill is very wide shots.
      Seems we shoot very similar style.

    • @robinprobyn1971
      @robinprobyn1971 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@PDMokry I have been thinking to get some tube lights , for a very subtle back light if needed . As you say they are easy to deploy .. The Mega 6 was a recent ish purchase , but yeah tube lights would probably be the next in the lighting dept .

    My current setup is 300D II and a P2C tube for hair. Also have a 100x for creating spill or shapes on the background walls if they are not intresting.
    I do have my eye on the 600c also as a single light. Some situations I would love to have bicolor, with high output.
    Currently looking for some flags and floppys. I think I saw your video where you showed some that have velcro on the floppy so they don't fall. What brand was that and would you recommend them? Looking for 24x36, since I have a small car.

    • @PDMokry
      @PDMokry  Před 10 měsíci

      That is a pretty good setup! I lean on my 600C for mixed lighting situations, it makes it so easy.
      I don’t know they make floppys that small, but I know Matthews makes a 40”x40” like I use.

    One questions, not camera related. Why did you remove the entire cap blue to the windshield washer fluid container?

    • @PDMokry
      @PDMokry  Před 10 měsíci +1

      One hand for phone and the other for fluid. No third hand to hold cap open.

      I am doing 180 shutter, 23.98 FPS, 10bit 4:2:2, Slog-3, 800iso and exposing for skin tones.
