Knurling on the handle would have given a better grip.

1, this man is a surgeon with a grinder, 2, you can see the destruction of the gloves thru the video, and 3, that's a beautiful blade
4 , that's an underrated comment .
Can also tell didn’t care about a good mig weld for connecting the blade to the tang

Maybe a grommet/gasket in the cap would help to prevent humidity to get inside, like in those watertight flashlights.

Во время службы в СА делали подобное из индивидуальных дозиметров ДП - 23 . С одной стороны нож , с другой ручка шариковая , письма писать домой ! ))
Я у товариша такое видел,отец видимо тоже из армии притаранил-но клинок там бьіл просто адский,реально стилет-швайка.

Another incredible job. Really good, Koss. Just one thing I didn't like: at 4:00 you could have put the eye protector in front of the lens to avoid this glare, and we would still see the weld forming... That's it. A hug from Brazil :D

And a big no no from me a forty year welder experience is ...never use a slitting disc as a grinder these things are so thin they shatter so easily

Very cool. I like it a lot. It has the weakness all such hidden implements have in that it lacks means to keep the hand from slipping onto the blade. But that is a weakness more of necessity considering what properties you want this tool to have.
Consider though...you did make a knife but it is more like a bayonette. You fix it to the end of the object you use to grip. Thus you could take this design and make a spear with a head that can be hidden. Or just a bayonette.
Anyway it is a cool design and I enjoyed watching the machining skills at work.

You should see about doing a group of threads that only needs a 90 degree turn to open and close securely for your next hidden blade. Kind of like an old school divers helmet. that you see them use in Men of Honor.

This is the knife i wanted to see you make the one i have,the blade is double sided but it’s not as big as the blade you made and mine is also a key chain. Closed it is 4.5” long and when open and screwed together is 7.3/4” inches

Это тяжёлое г,в каком походе.
Глядя на это творчество - в голове вертится песенка "почему я идиот".
В поход можна взять простенькою Мору за копейки.А сие изделие просто оригинальная вещица,да и то для тех кто родился после 90-х.Например в совковому детстве видел подобньіе ножи у многих,у отца нож подобной конструкции бьіл в бардачке,только поменьше размером.

I think this video was great, the knife is very creative and interesting. With this design the tang is visible half the time, making it an important feature. But if feels like you didn’t give it the same level of attention that you gave to the knife blade. I do feel that the tang looks unfinished. Buy adding detail there this design would pop!

Хорошая вещь для рыбалки, если на другом конце рукояти сделать резьбу, так можно удленить ее до размеров копья и можно будет косить камыши и вообще много применения, например остатки рукоятия можно использоват как колышки если другой конец немного заострить.

smart. very interesting. the same thing in stainless would be a valuable addition to any backpack. also perhaps add saw cutting teeth on the backbone of the blade? considering the starting thickness of the blade it would work nicely
Saw cutting teeth with one dot of welding attaching to handle? It will break in one minute of use.
@@user-wt4tm8fl5v perhaps change slightly the process? a forged blade with the tang integrated might work no??
its interesting , not a fan of handles welded on but thats better than many ive seen. a solid hit will probably break it but its good for light work.
