- is this oil pan leak or rear main seal?
it goes around the oil pan but there's a spot that looks like its coming from above. more quantity in the back. it could be both..
recently installed new oil pump with timing chain. maybe these leaks were already weak.
i saw BlueDevil or Liqui Moly oil leak stop products, I have no idea if they are good or efficient.
let me know what you think
I just changed the oil pan seal and a rear main seal at the shop .
$1450
2004 F150 Heritage
The leak was only from the oil pan seal
Engine must be lifted anyway , so they did rear main too
@@slad8899 same thing i did. To get there is almost the same job for boths. Except it cost way less here. $100 + replacement parts (around $80 w/ imports)
Oh wow , where you at ? What state ?
@@slad8899 more like - what country? > Ecuador
@@litoid :D oh man, yeah, its cheaper there

Pop that lil cap off... If it's leaking in there it's your rear main seal.
Probably
How much oil were to going through before fixing?
I have no idea when it started to leak but it was like that when i got it. Maybe the leakage was small enough to bypass oil changes.
What did it end up being
I changed both! Since changing one is like doing the same unmounting. So have no idea which one it is but it no longer leaks.
