@@jims4877 there is actually another one that kind of a prequel to Mr inbetween. It's a mocumentry called "The Magician"
what i like about this series is that because Australia is very strict with guns and they are a rarity to see around, lots of the guns in this series are old Australian military guns like the L1A1 SLR and the Sterling SMG or old farm guns that were probably unregistered before guns were largely banned.
yea like that SKS which is pretty much 90% of our illegal centerfire guns
Just because they have strict gun laws doesn't mean guns are not everywhere. Plenty of illegal and legal guns in the country. Remember Australia is a huge country.
@@coolerking7427 I compete in long range target shooting out of literally hundreds of people Ive never met one that hasn't been in shock when they've learnt I shoot
It's basically unheard of here
Biggest range in my state has about 40 people that go there in the middle of Brisbane
@@coolerking7427 They're around and possible to get but very expensive. I've heard a select fire weapon is five figures on the street. Handguns probably aren't cheap either though I haven't heard specifics
guns weren't banned, human rights were.
Just noticed, at 1:02 the burned man is still twitching on the ground. Props to them for doing another full body burn for a background shot.
probably easier to use a twitching dummy but great detail like you said
The attention to detail here is amazing. Not only do they show the Sterling SMG as an open-bolt gun, but at @1:41 he shoots exactly 23 rounds and then at @2:46 he shoots 11 rounds (34 rounds total). The Sterling has a 34-round magazine.
As Gaz says early mate, it's not a sterling, it's a patchett.
@@fimmywa exactly right it’s not a Sterling🤣🤣🤣
Damn brother you must know your merch. I've squirted a Stenn before but not at people :P
Attention to detail ? this kent .. hahaha in my opinion either somone didnt shoot you in the head or you survived
A Patchett is a modfied Sterling though.
i love how he was clearly dying when Ray shot him through that window but the adrenaline kept him going long enough to start the truck and drive down the road. Plus that headshot on the second guy was great, never see that level of detail in these kind of shows.
Nah the facial wound looked relatively superficial. If he'd avoided the SMG fire he probably would have been alright.
@@optimisticnihilist3417 Yeah, bunch of pellets might make him bleed a lot but if he made it to a hospital I think so.
Yeah, it looked like the last round was like birdshot or something. Did not look like it did much damage at all.
@@optimisticnihilist3417 I think he means the guy that guy his brain liquefied after the first guy got turned into a s'more.
@@njineermike that kill didn't look realistic at all either. look up what real shot gun wounds to the head look like and you'll notice that their heads of blown halfway off.
I love the guns in this. It's cool to see everyone using something other than top of the line military gear, makes it feel more real. Little trivia: pretty sure that SMG at the end is the basis for the E11 blaster from Star Wars.
yes, its the sterling
@@neempata3274 Yes sterling sub machine gun developed at the end of world war 2 to replacing the sten in british service but it didn''t happen till the 50's, the sterling was used in many diffirent configurations up untill 1988, some countries still use it in military services and to a lesser extent police service
Well it takes place in Australia, they don't exactly have a large variety of weapons both legal or otherwise to utilize.
This gun was used by the guy who dis a shooting in the Quebec parliament

A question. Ally broke up with him cos he was too violent, like her ex, yet during a sex scene she was being spanked by him. Great series but a little in consistant.
@@earlofsandwich7884 being spanked during sex and the dude pulling gauges on people and fucking them to shreds are two different things my guy
Just watched this scene for the first time during the episode. I was convinced Ray was gonna attack the guy with the cleaver he finds in the kitchen, then the guy runs out in flames and I’m sitting here thinking holy shit then he blasts the punk pricks head off. Earlier in the season Ray disposes of this girl’s body for him and the guy doesn’t give two shits about her.
Also the gun Ray uses at the end was given to him by Gary for his birthday in season 1 or 2, nice callback.
Season 1, I think he uses it for the first time on Davros' henchmen that were scoping his place out.
Ray really is the Magician. But all the characters were outstanding from Rays Brother, his best friend Gary, low life Freddie & all of the unsavory characters that Ray taught lessons too. Holy Moly what a Ripper of a show. Everybody involved deserves a shout at their local
Nice spot on the guy whos girl he helped get rid of. Slipped past me
Gary was a bro, this creepy fuckin rich yacht dude was a prey.
when he looks at the hammer, cleaver etc also a nod to pulp fiction, when bruce willis is sizing up weapons in the pawn shop.
the part i love the most about this scene is him using the Storm Trooper gun but he didnt miss
That's a British 'Sterling' sub-machine gun. A good low-cost SMG.
I love that gun, the holes in the barrel makes it look mean.
@@GateKeeper36 Barrel shroud. Helps bleed off excess heat. Safer to hold during sustained fire.
Storm troopers aren't inaccurate

Loved how when Dave was first introduced he was just another hit man sent to kill Ray, but in the end Ray was the one fighting for Dave’s life. I was hooked in this show at the end of season 1 when Ray spared Dave, if this were any other show the main character would have killed Dave after everything they put him through, but instead Ray helps Dave get to his daughters birth after locking him in a trunk and delivering him to the person who’s going to kill him.

thanks for making me not want to watch the show by spoiling
@@fitofito8785 well having read that comment you have pretty much already watched the whole show, so no point really.
@@fitofito8785 If you didn't want to be spoiled, you shouldn't have watched a clip of the last episode of a show that you didn't want to be spoiled on, you shouldn't have gone to the comment section of the aformentioned clip, and you shouldn't have read an entire paragraph of a comment that was clearly talking about the show. You had every chance to turn back, and yet you proceeded.
Best show I've watched in years, the Aussies did themselves proud
Watch the Underbelly mini series they are all top notch.
I appreciate that he did not locked and loaded that shotgun before he shot in 0:52. In other movies/shows they always do it for "the better effect". But not here. Sweet.
This creative team got more life and action into each 30 minute episode then a lot of others teams with much bigger budgets. Series is definitely watching!
PS1- Although sorry to see series end, had to appreciate that I didn’t feel I wasted any time watching it. Stories, characters, left an impression that I won’t forget. I still can’t believe they covered so many difficult topics that a normal series would never attempt
PS2 - Do yourself a favor and watch series end to end!
Part of me wants them to continue making more episodes because the ending didn't quite "end it;" however, it was a great ending to a series. I think if they were to make more episodes, it would turn into a Dexter'ist dilemma. Mr. InBetween is 1,000,000,000 x's better than most highly acclaimed tv series. I put it right up there with the best from HBO, FX, A&E, SHOtime, etc.
Really neat to see accurate gun handling in a budget show. The full auto gun even having its bolt held to the rear as it should be was really cool.
Not all full autos fire that way. A lot of machine guns do. The sterling submachine gun fires from the open bolt position.
@@irvingbluff5158 nothing that he said contradicts that in any way, know-it-all
Watched this entire series a while back. I couldn't stop binge watching it some nights. Such a great show. Too bad it only lasted 3 seasons.
I love how raw the violence is in this show. Even though the traditional action scenes are few and far between, the grittiness of them makes those scenes feel like biting in to a rich dessert after a full meal.
This show was exceptional. It deserved more viewers. Got very little promotion in the US (NY).
why did you put "NY" in brackets?
@@LKeet6 Hi - I put NY in brackets as that is the market I reside in. I can’t say how the show was marketed outside NY though there was probably no difference.
@@meerkat7406 gotcha. I thought it was some "anti metropolitan elite" style comment 😂 and with fx being based in California, it would've made even less sense.

One of THE best series ive EVER seen. As always there is not enough episodes..
Yup! I think they have an out to make more episodes due to the last episode only implying "the end," but I think the series ended well enough. Gonna most definitely re-watch the series.
It's better to burn out than to fade away, same goes with shows like these. If the made five or seven seasons, you'll only remember the bad episodes afterwards, because they milked it. This was perfect. Tight, compact, intense.
Just saw all 3 seasons in one weekend, GREAT, GREAT show!...

I started off watching soprano clips then discovered Fargo then discovered this show...I like that they show shotguns in a realistic manner
No. In a cool manner? Hell yes. In a realistic manner? No. Pellets don't act like hollow points. That guys right side should have been pulp. The rest hanging around attached to limp skin on the left. The window was accurate though. The pellets would have lost a ton of velocity, being more akin to bird shot which is what the depicted. The special effects guy definitely looks like he knows what up. It was most likely the director thinking having the opposite side pop looked cooler. And to that I say. Kinda.

This is a great show but to put it up there with the Goat breaking bad, that's just disrespectful breh..come on now let's not get crazy...
@@jesus4lyfe00 Dude, BB's a good show, probably one of the best of the last two decades. But acting like it's this insurmountable GOAT show that has no flaws, with any comparison being "disrepectful" is just annoying "bravo Vince!" bullshit. As a dude who has watched all 5 seasons multiple times over and is basically in withdrawals from no new season 6 BCS episodes until the 11th, if Mr Inbetween was made as 1hr per episode show with maybe another season that allowed them to flesh the world and characters out more before they ended it, it would 100% be on the same rung no question.
Like BB has scenes that still make put me on the edge of my seat, but I haven't choked up or wanted to see the next episode as much as Mr Inbetween made me do like the end of Ray's brothers arc and the ending, and there are themes surrounding the gritty parts of criminal life that Ray lives that Breaking Bad just doesn't really get to in terms of depicting them.

I do believe that U.S tank crews were issued M3 Grease guns. There was a lot of vintage kit floating about in the Gulf.
Fantastic use of live ammo (blanks) squibs and practical effects. That dood who took the shotty round to the head got de brained

I fired a patchett in the mid 1980s as a 14 year old school army cadet, emptied the entire mag at a target no more than 15 foot away didnt get a round on target
The special effects on that guy with the rifle getting his brains blown out, good god.
Running away from someone and trying to start a car in front of them, whilst you have a perfectly good pistol in hand is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen an NPC do haha
Depends on who that someone is.
Fear is the mind killer. Couple moments ago he witnessed a guy getting burned alive AND a guy sending top of his head to nearby surface. He was running for his life - there's no rational thinking in there.
And he takes the time to make sure the truck door is shut too.
That character was a boss of a crew. Likely not use to being in those situations. He had more of a businessman/wanna be hitman vibe and wasn't an astute thinker as seen in an episode previously. Makes a little bit more sense when you know the character in context. He freaked out that he was alone and ran.
@@monster762 Not really. No one can stop a bullet, don't give a shlt how tough they are

This was a difficult show to watch. one moment it was a heart tearing family drama and the next it was an ultra-violent crime drama. I enjoyed it for the contrast. Also the off the wall situations it put you in that seemingly came out of nowhere.
I wasn't wild about Bruce. Mainly because the guy who played him did too good a job. A friend of mine died of ALS and the guy who played Bruce nailed it. Every time Bruce was on it made me remember my friend and how he went down and how hard it was to watch.
That was very realistic gunplay actually. Especially the shotgun splatter on the guy with the ruger mini-14. They rarely show exit holes on shotguns. But the contrast on the entry point of the buckshot was on point. Randomly got recommended this show. Gonna binge it later. Smooth shit Aussies.
