This scene was crushing, Barry killing his protege in a blind a fury, the dude loved Barry.
Barry warned him earlier that one second of hesitation would be his death. Damn good writing.
Dude when he comes back in and realizes what he’s done...
@@tiggerhc that's right! God, what an amazing show
I said the same but I noticed survivors the last man didn't die and the two that escaped with fiukes
He didn’t really love Barry, he pretty much took advantage of him when he got back from the war. Barry was depresssed and aimless in his life till Fuches twisted into making him a hit man. Now that Barry wants to live his life, he is willing to do whatever it takes to either put Barry back on his leash or kill him with whatever army he can find.
The scene where Mayrbek dropped his aim and smiled right before getting his brains blown out made me sad.
Yea me too
Yeah they shouldn't have left that in.
@@silkyjohnson4519 its supposed to show barry's blind anger
@@MB-bz1qx It shows that Mayrbeck did not listen to Barry’s teaching.
@@jonasthemovie thing is tho, even if he did listen that was pretty much fog of war
chances are he would've seen him and his immediate thought would be "oh it's Barry, he's come to help us" or some shit like "oh he's here to protect his mentor", he has zero context of why he's here or what's going on
“You lose your focus, you give the other guy a chance to fire, YOU’RE DEAD!!” God I love the writing for this show. He warned him and it was he was the other guy who fired
This show is so good.
That's....that's how guns work. I miss my Steyr but it is a hole that solves issues and you point and the issue goes away and if you stall you're the issue that goes away and that's how it is.

@@fuckinbarsbro are you brain-dead, stupid or just illiterate?
I love how they made it so he doesn’t kill anybody for the whole season, until this.
is like the whole season is Barry asking himself am i evil and this scene gave him the answer yes you fucking are
And even then didn't kill the person he wanted to.
@Charles Hastings I don't think he shot her first on purpose, she was just the first person to spot him.
I didn't even notice that
@Андрей Шандор But Barry was going to murder him in return and ended up killing even those that surrendered. He is evil, and you should try to adjust your moral compass a little bit
I have no idea how Bill Hader balances his subtle comedic style and seriousness in this series.
Bill doesn't really get the funny parts in this. It goes mainly to Hank and the actors group.
He has the same gift as Robin Williams
Hung Vo My guess is that it would have something to do with being a good actor.
Seriously I have no idea how that single shot of him chasing that dude into the room then kicking in the door was funny AND badass at the same time
@@pashadyne Since we're going with the Bob Odenkirk comparison, Bryan Cranston is also this.
I could not see him as anything except Hal from Malcom in the Middle, but then suddenly I saw a whole other side.
Words cannot express how much I despise Fuches’ character, but watching Stephen Root yell “Shit!” and run is comedy gold.
Stephen Root kills it every role
Yeah he plays this role amazing. This whole show is so good except for sally lol that selfish bitch
Bo Borris Aww, I actually love Sally. I mean she’s not a good person, but she’s a great character!
Sarah Hutchinson yeah she’s a great character and they make you not like her the writing is fantastic and she’s a great actress.
You know how great an actor is by how well they make you hate the character they’re playing
What really makes this scene heart wrenching is how all the guys Barry trained are trying to protect Fuches because they think he's Barry's friend and Barry would want them to protect him. They were literally putting their life on the line because they idolize and love Barry so much and they have no idea its Barry himself who wants to kill him. Like every other relationship Barry has, the combination of his own psychopathy and Fuches manipulation has lead him to destroy it. Really sad.
Love this comment
Thank you for the comment, I was wondering why they didn't open fire the moment they laid eyes on him.
Barry wouldn’t define as a psychopath, cause he clearly has a range of emotions, long with feeling remorseful.
Barry ain't a psychopath. He feels an extreme amount of guilt for what he does, and he even feel empathy for his victims. But he can't help it.
This goes against the very concept of psychopathy : psychopaths have no remorse nor empathy whatsoever.
They didn't know it was Barry?? That makes it extra sad. I thought they knew but were following orders anyway.
I feel horrible about the guy that looked up to him. When he said "you gave my life purpose" I was already heartbroken. His new, mind melded purpose was to kill without thinking. And in the end, it was the same remorseless killing he was inspired to commit that got him. The depressing world of these gangs.
He did tell him "kill" needs to be the only though in his mind, if it wasn;t the other guy would shoot him. And bang.
@@jefftriphahn3496 Yeah. Damn. Just realized that.

It's amazing that Barry loaded the Chechan bullet into his gun way back at the beginning of the season, and in the finale he uses it to kill Esther, since it's the first shot he fires
Oh crap. Forgot all about that!
I think he shoots Hanks side kick with it when he they try to kill Barry at his desk
@@edwardm9246 that was a different gun under his Mattress I think he keeps them separately same gun model but different sets of them like this gun is regular and the gun he shot hank side kick with had a silencer on it so when he retrieve the gun he didn’t put the silencer on it , it was already on .
This will probably get Barry off the hook for the massacre as well; makes it gang-related rather than a revenge thing. Really good foreshadowing for next season.
Wtf is the point of this comment, it's literally just spoiling what happens in the show. You are redundant.
Barry screaming "Fuchess" at the stop of his lungs walking through the dark corridor is one of the best moments of the series, Hader is an insanely good actor
Crazy scene,I feel bad for the guy that was happy to see Barry before he got dropped.

@@harley7836 Literally blinded by rage when he pulled out his foot and the light just blind him for a sec
tommy blade I know but just them begging him makes me laugh, then gets the first guy shot because when he asks “where is he?” They just point to guy with the gun. I felt sorry for them because they all looked up to Barry, he trained them all, gave them one piece of important advice and he just wiped them all out bar the two who escaped with Fuches. Bill wasn’t actually meant to get his foot stuck in the door, he was just meant to kick it and it opened but the release latch didn’t work properly so he shot at the door in frustration that’s how we ended up with that shot of him his foot and the door. Alec spoke about it in a Q&A.
hank casually greeting barry with a smile, even after seeing him shoot esther, and then him hiding; it was everything.
Bill Hader is about the most harmless dude around, and this scene made him monstrous.
It’s exceptionally well written, performed and directed, and astounding to know bill did all three of those things himself.
Hank survives by hiding behind the very altar he was disparaging at the beginning of the episode.
I dont think Barry would have actively shot him, he was shooting everyone who was stopping him getting to Fuches
I don't think Barry was able to register faces
Johny Reyes you’re right he wasn’t, if this video had continued because there’s only about two/three minutes left after this. When he goes back inside and sees the kids face that’s when he realises what he’s done and it devastates him, because Barry knew he was just a kid, who looked up too him that’s why Barry’s so hard on him, because he sees a lot of himself in this kid and didn’t want him too end up dead, so Barry taking him out, does something to Barry because everything he didn’t want to happen to the kid, ended up happening at his own hands and that’s why the scene ends with him walking into the darkness! I don’t think Barry will be the same next season because of killing the kid. (And I say kid because it’s made clear that he’s still just a teenager because Barry asks NoHo Hank how old he his? And I think the answer was 18 or 19 years old!) we know he’s a hitman and has killed god knows how many people but I think this kids death is going to haunt him next season.

Also, for people who haven't seen the show and just watched this clip, please give the show a chance. :D
It's silly at times yes, but you have to understand the context. Those soldiers or guards we're horrible and Barry was actually mentoring them and training them. The girl he shot in the beginning was also one of the trainees and she's kind of emo and she would give Barry a hard time but would never hurt him. That's why when he just came in and shot her like that we were like "ohhhhh shit!!!!!!!!!!!"
Many of those men love and respect and also fear Barry. He is basically John Wick in this universe. He is the Baba Yaga. A lot of those people that hesitated it's because they weren't trained and they were terrified.
The guy who hesitated when Barry burst into the room, did that because he basically worshipped Barry. He saw Barry as an older brother and a mentor and that's why that's scene hit so hard
In the context of the show it makes sense even though yes he does have plot armor but then again so did John Wick

Something interesting here:
Earlier in the season, Barry noticed the kid goofing around and taking his time in between shots. In that scene, Barry ridiculed him for his hesitation, saying “If you give the other guy a chance to fire, you’re DEAD!” In this scene, the kid does literally that when he sees Barry: and it tragically costs him his life.
Just thought that was interesting to note.
“Hesitation is defeat.”
-Isshin Ashina
Barry's lesson was about facing enemies. The kid didn't consider Barry an enemy. So he didn't "hesitate", but just thought he was aiming at a friend and made a decision to not fire. You don't start shooting down your army buddies on a mission just in case one of them goes psycho and tries to shoot you first. So your comment makes NO sense, too bad there are many saying the same thing.

2:50 is just a gorgeous scene. So much information packed into a couple gunshots a smile and some framing. This show is truly great
The whole scene was so powerful and scary. I loved how the light started to flicker in the hallway and when it finally went out before he walked into the darkness after realizing what he had done. That desperation he had all season trying to lie to himself that he can change and be good and the final acceptance that he can't and he's as bad as he worried he was. That visual representation of the hope inside of Barry along with the rest of the scene was just fantastic. I haven't been that stunned by an ending in so long.

Don’t feel too bad for the gangster with the automatic weapon. He wasn’t baking cookies for a living and volunteering at the local animal shelter.
there's a great callback to the episode where they first train the chechens. Barry shoots the gun next to mayrbek's head and tells him that if he gives the other guy a chance, he'll die. lo and behold, he lets his guard down and dies for it.
It's good that hes dead, Barry definitely created a monster with him, he would've done some serious damage
I just realized the symbolism of this happening in a Buddhist temple. Violence is an endless cycle that Barry can’t escape from
I love the way Bill Hader reacts when shooting a gun. Minimal recoil and no flinching. It fits the character or Barry very well

2:04 - That is the most realistic door break I have ever seen in Film or Television. When a door is locked by the bolt it’s pretty much impossible to just kick it wide open. That’s why Barry kicks it and only the bottom part breaks off…
@@user-fp5vf9qh3i Wow. That is so cool. I would've never guessed. Thanks for letting me know!
It reminds me of a movie called The Nice Guys. One of the characters punches through some glass to get into a place. Unlike every other movie though, he cuts himself badly and starts to bleed a lot. It then cuts to him in an ambulance. Not a lot about the movie was super realistic but that one part was played for laughs and done very well.
This is such an upsetting scene. Seeing Barry give in to his violent and dark urges and emotions after trying so hard to overcome them the whole season and (seemingly) finally succeeding is so heartbreaking. Especially considering that this scene takes place right after he tells Gene’s son that Gene was right and that people can change their nature.

@@redhood444 No, I was talking about them going in tactically and clearing the warehouse as professionals. Taking cover and all that.
Whereas this one has him just walk in and start shooting with absolutely no regard for the possibility of people shooting back.
2:15 scene looked so real. They don’t typically show death scenes like this in movies. Barry nails every one of these moments throughout the show. Great directing.
It really doesn't look real. it looks dramatic.
I love when this scene ends and he walks into the dark hallway signifying the loss of the humanity he was so close to finding.
I just realised that Hank has given his men the greatest threat to an organized crime member, emotional and personal connection. Mayrbeck waiting at the double doors smiled when he saw Barry, immediately dropping his guard. Even though Barry was trying to kill Fuches and was the culprit shooting up the monastery.
I could be wrong, but I don't think he knew barry was the shooter yet. Fuches only says "he's trying to kill me", and i think the chechens were trying to keep fuches safe out of loyalty to barry because they didn't know he and fuches were enemies now. I'm pretty sure the guy was genuinely happy to see barry because he thought barry was there to help them.
@@slam761 nah, when he turns fuches over to the next group of dudes to take him out of the building, the big russian guy specifically mentions barry is trying to kill him.

The one guy said “Barry’s mentor” and that’s when they agreed to sneak Fuches out the back and cover his back. They respected Barry so much they risked their lives for someone just because they thought Barry cared about him. And them trying to be loyal to Barry is what got them killed by Barry 😭

0:24 This show just never stops with the correct details: bullet broke stuff in the background after it went through her.
Shankovich actually usually the bullet would usually get lodged in the flesh and not go straight thru
@@TheLoudLion642 even at this close range?
@@stutudi4881 Depends on the bullet and the weapon itself. Some bullets penetrate better, some are designed to fragment upon entry for maximum damage. Longer barrels provide better velocity which in turns gives better penetration. If he was using a hollow point round then there's almost no way it would go clean through her head. However "regular" handgun ammo, yeah , not impossible to go through and still hit something in the back.
@@piotrk3829 Not entirely true. Because of the weird mechanics of water (which makes up 66% of your body), faster moving rounds, like 5.56 or 5.45, are more likely to dump the majority of their energy into a soft target, but also easily pass through a hard target because of their size and speed. Bigger rounds, like the many 7.62 cartridges, retain energy at longer distances, but at close range, will have the momentum to continue through a soft target without losing much energy.
Although handguns, like what Barry is using here, are meant for close range, they're chambered in THICC, stubby rounds like 9mm or .45 ACP because their barrels aren't long enough for the bullet to build up enough speed to produce significant energy from speed alone, so they need to rely more heavily on the other factor of momentum - mass.
All things considered, a 9mm round, which is what Barry is probably using, would go through Esther's head at that range. Very easily.
It crushes me to see him so carelessly kill the guy from the beginning that was like him, where he shot his rifle well and everyone cheered for him.

0:28 that camera movement and the thunder in the background. So intense. The tension they create in this show is outstanding. It is actually scary when you see that Barry can just turn on his violent nature like that.
I can't watch this scene again. It is so heartbreaking in so many ways. Especially when he kills his protege. The kid was so happy to see him. I just can't.
What can't Bill Hader do, seriously this guy is a legend.
Something I thought was really, really subtle but well done; in episode four, when Barry was training the Czech men, the "prodigy" of the group, the one that said Barry gave him purpose, was given advice that ultimately would have saved his life. Barry saw him screwing around with his friends and fired a gun by his ear and said "You lose your focus, you give the other guy a chance to fire, you're DEAD!" And when the door got opened here, he paused for just a second upon seeing Barry, and he got shot. I don't know if that was just really subtle foreshadowing or an accident, but it really makes you wonder how differently things would have gone if he had taken that advice.
Bill Haders voice “is he in there?” Is so odd because we love him as the comedy guy but he is acting like the punisher
Im impressed with Bill Hader's acting as of late, its been very solid, my judgment has been a bit skewed by the over the top stuff he was involved in with SNL, but he has better range than i anticipated he would have.
Only Bill Hader can make an unstoppable killing machine like Barry funny, lol.
I love this scene because the show spends. So much time. Building up these characters for a big showdown. And it keeps making you think that there’s gonna be a big fight. But no one holds a candle to Barry. These badass players on the board, are knocked aside so easily by his anger, and in what would usually be so cool to watch in an action movie, is so gut wrenching. Because we see Barry go back to the dark place he’s been trying to avoid literally this entire show till now.
He was tough on that kid and made him stronger and made his men a small Militia and after their training he thanked Barry for being hard on him and looked up to him , he then stopped taking commands from his bosses because he valued Barry so much that what he said was absolutely pointless when barry kicked in the door it was heartbreaking to him lower his gun just to die :(
Bill Hader should win an Oscar for his performance. Not just Emmys. I’m talking OSCARS!!!!! For this intense performance.
The Official King of Narratives I always knew he was a great actor, but since Barry he blows my mind every episode.
Ironic how he won the Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy when his character is most invested in the drama part of the show, while other characters work as the comedy relief. But yeah, he should win every award haha!
Emmys are the oscars for television...
If he does this kind of acting in movies he'll get one in no time
The Official King of Narratives well his name is still being brought up when people talk about next years oscars because of his performance as Richie in Chapter Two. The first thing every single reviewer said was “Bill Hader should be considered for an Oscar next year for his portrayal of adult Richie!” And a lot added “He not only steals every scene he’s in, he steals the whole movie as the VIP outstanding cast member.” So there’s a good chance he’ll be nominated. XoX
@@harley7836 I don't think so. A movie like It Chapter 2 isn't really going to be considered for the Oscars.
It’s so sad when he kills the rifleman that he taught
2:53 I find it so sad that he realized it was Barry AND SMILED SEEING A FAMILIAR FACE AND THEN BARRY JUST SHOOTS HIM IN A BLIND RAGE. and ahhh Barry's face when he realizes who he shot is heartwrenching
Such a great scene. Everyone is focused on him killing his protégé which in essence makes sense. At 00:34 you can hear an explosion which implies he enters a state of PTSD combat mode, and anyone who loves the series knows Barry's fight or flight instinct from his time in the Middle East. So many layers to this scene it tracks that he shoots the man he trained with no empathy. Props to Bill Hader, one of the most underrated actors of all time.
What a finale I mean my God it's stunning. Most of the season showed him trying to avoid killing people(Ronny, his daughter and Sallys ex) but then my God the way he loses it in this episode. Whole series we don't really see how good he is as a marksman except for the first episode but this was brutal. Props to Bill Hader he should really be proud of what he's done it's unbelievable acting. After fuches gets away the way he walks back and realises just how what Happened it's incredible. I think if they didn't include that final scene of Gene remembering what fuches told him this could have been the series finale to show that he's still a killer and can't change
“FUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
*CHILLS!*

You know it was upsetting to watch him kill the kid that he taught. But it also calls back to the scene where Barry told him to not get distracted. He got distracted and he payed for it.
Christobals run kills me everytime
i love how realistic this show is, tries to kick the door in and his foot just gets stuck in it😂no hollywood bullshit
Better than GoT's finale.
Charles De Rosas funny you mention GOT!?! Because the makers of that show went up to Bill and Alec once and told them that “they thought their show (Barry) was to dark for television!” Bill’s makes jokes about it all the time, and says he “doesn’t know if to take what they said as a compliment or an insult, considering their show has Dragons, bloody weddings and incest!” He apparently asked them “have you actually watched your own show?”
😂😂😂😂
so was my 5 year old's school play.
I remember watching the GoT finale, being so disappointed, and then watching Barry's finale to cheer myself up (did WAY better too).
@@izziharris5810 don't you notice how many people stopped talking about the series due to the tragic finale? Lol
Far better.... this shows writing is absolutely superb and hasn’t failed me once. It’s a comedy at heart yet so unpredictable and always manages to surprise its audience. Hader is a genius....
This scene causes a war in my head between "Fuches is right there and you have a clear shot at him" and "Stephen Root can't die because he is amazing"
What I love (a weird word to use) about the violence in this is that it isn't even accidentally made cool. It's shocking and horrific when it happens, especially on such a huge scale as this. The decision to focus the camera on individual guys dying at parts, instead of treating them as disposable, really stands out.
Bill's acting is so good in this, as always. Poor Mayrbeck 😓
Me going to my cousins house with nerf guns be like:
2:50 genuinely feel terrible
The end of the scene and final scene of the show is him walking into the dark hallway. All that effort to be a better person has meant nothing. He’s worse off than when the show began.
Maybrek was so happy to see Barry. He lowered his gun because he recognized him as a friend. His death actually made me sad.
He could've just called a UAV in after his third kill and had instant access to his targets whereabouts.
I haven't thought about the original COD Modern Warfare multiplayer in so long. Thanks for the flashbacks.
I'm You, You're me I’m pretty sure Fuches was running cold blooded
Man.. Barry needs a friend and a hug, also some serious therapy.
Just when I thought he was making some progress, he snapped, and this time it was fucking unreal. It breaks my heart watching this.
Fucking love this show. I need more.
Whos rewatching Barry clips after the finale?
Gonna miss this show
@@diesemautokerl2181 me too brother.
This scene proves that Barry is just as good as Breaking Bad
Hey batir, hey man.
God I love this scene. My interpretation is that no matter where he goes, and what he does, he is a born monster. Killing is his trade and he'll never escape it.
Amerika bu kinoyla ne demek isteyir yani Rusların elinde oyuncaq olan Amerika güya indi nese demek isteyir petuxlarnan dolu olan ölke ne ede biler sizce
Bill Hader was a man i found out about while watching The Angry Birds Movie. Seeing him play Leonard and then Barry is outstanding. His acting in this scene is so amazing, despite him going on a killing spree. It’s amazing how this man can do both comedic and serious scenes.
The only thing that really makes me sad about this scene is that there will be no redemption for Barry. You can't come back from this.
I was actually trying to look up tropical storm barry .
I was the opposite, looking for this and got Barry the storm. And I'm in Houston
Poetic.
I feel like that scene where Cousineau's helping him with his audition and helps him realize the true intentions of the character that he's reading for and he says that a person seeking revenge is digging two graves........ I feel like it was a ~foreshadowing~ for this sequence here. By seeking revenge on Fuches for fucking his shit up, he really dug two graves- one of those graves is for himself, for the "good" person he wanted to be and thought he was becoming. He says right before he decides to go after Fuches at the monastery and go on a killing spree that Cousineau was right about people being capable of change and at the time he still had that part of him who really believed that he could change. But then he gets that text from Hank and all that shit about becoming a good person just went down the drain. Holy shit!!! So good............ I just finished rewatching season 2 and i'm still fucking sweating from all of the shit that went down. I can't wait for next season!!!
The LITERAL definition of the term "Blinded By Rage"
I love how properly raged, Barry can turn into a Jack Bauer killing machine.

Damn Cristobal, what kind of goofy ahh run is that💀💀💀
