2023 Yamaha MT10 - Getting to know the bike

- Sunny and 70 degrees today, so went for a quick ride to get to know the bike a little better. Going to go play in the mtns tomorrow and wanted to get some break in miles on it first.

The MT-10 is a brilliant, brilliant bike, the finest road bike engine ever made, character, punch, noise. A wonderful chassis, good brakes. The main faults - lack of range (small tank) awful seat, and when you up the pace the footpegs are just a tad low. But it's such a blast to ride - a bike that's more than the sum of its parts - not the fastest, not the flashiest - but it doesn't matter. A true great.
Nice scenery. Absolutely love Athens. Go Dawgs!! Thinking about getting an MT10 in my near future. I’m over here in North Alabama and there are so many beautiful roads to ride in. Currently have a Versys 1000 and would love to have a lighter, more powerful bike for a bit less money! MT10 seems perfect
It's a great bike. Its 97% of what I loved about the Tuono, but none of the frustrations and maintenance costs...
That MT 10 was a great decision. Looking forward to more adventures

Nice to hear you had the same feelings i had on my Mt10 on first ride, as the first was compliance when you hit n hope the throttle, get the suspension tuned and lag sorted, i also have a mate on a Harley lagging behind but he buys the coffee.
It's just a fantastic bike. One of the best, well rounded sport bikes out there. Lots of power, handles well, top notch electronics...
Nice ride! I own a 22 and did a bunch of mods. Link pipe, stock can, ecu flash, comfort seat, bar end mirrors, Puig screen, micro tank bag, rigid removable saddle bags, case covers, frame sliders, front and rear axle sliders, tail tidy, ASV shorty levers. Bike is an absolute piss to ride.
There are several brands that make windscreens for the new generation MT-10. I personally went with the puig touring screen and I think it helps out a lot with wind deflection. I've done a lot of the simple mods that you're doing right now. In the future I plan on getting a custom ECU flash from Chris.
Yamaha also makes a touring screen for the bike. A couple years back they made a model I think called the SP, which added that screen, some frame mounted bags, and a couple other goodies, turned the MT-10 into a a light ST. I loved that model but it was officially only offered in Europe. Yamaha sold the parts separately here in the US so you could build your own.
That's a cool naked bike w/ some spicy power! It even zips with a Yeti on board (comparatively speaking) :>)
Im currently in the debate between getting a ZX14 or a MT10…since you own both what would be your advice? Thanks in advance
Dude, that's a bigger conversation... These bikes are at different ends of the spectrum. Both are powerful, but one is long, low, heavy and plush with great wind protection, while the other is short, light, and no wind protection.
Both are very capable, comfortable and can do the occasional track day or light touring... But they go about it in different ways. Maybe I will make a video of the comparison...

Yeah, pretty comfortable, but the seat could be a tad thicker, but overall it's comfy
I'd have to agree with you on the cops. Was pulled over last year and he did start with, do you have any idea of how fast you were going? Which, I didn't. He then said, I normally don't pull over bikes, I'm going to give you a warning. Then the, don't kill yourself or anyone else.
Plus one of Dave's oldest Georgia friends is a popo.....me, Officer Mike. 😄😄😄 I watch all of Dave's videos, and I don't even ride.
It seems to my that u really hate traffic on the roads, why dont u buy yourself an island and move there with your bike so you can enjoy empty roads?
