@@Straydogger saw em twice at the Tech Coliseum in Atlanta. Black Oak Arkansas opened for em the second time. Think it was ranked one of the loudest concerts ever at the time.
I knew the bassist would blow you guys away. GARY THAIN was one of the rockingest bassists of the 70's. He impressed this young bassist because he played cleanly and melodically with a great sense of timing. His hands, brain and soul were definitely in sync. And what a killer tone! He was so inspirational! I was fortunate to have seen him live. RIP.
This is the perfect album. Every song on here is pretty darn good. This album in Sweet Freedom are my two favorite. Uriah Heep was huge back in the seventies. I don't understand why people don't ever react to them? Rarely some do and I want to thank you guys for treat. 🙂
The Heep were one of the great British rock bands from the 70's with the great David Byron on vocals. Saw them live in Glasgow in 1971 and 5 times up to '75 awesome band.
The Demons and Wizards album was heavy in my rotation for awhile. Saw them a couple of times in the 70's. Once with Blue Oyster Cult. Great pairing. It was a fun night.
I'm so happy you guys have discovering this band they've got a lot of great songs if you guys want to hear one of the most incredible rock slide guitar songs TRY TEARS IN EYES thanks for all the great reviews love listening to you guys everyday❤
I saw Uriah Heep in 73 at the old Hollywood Sportatorium - my first concert as a 15 year old. They were awesome! Manford Mann’s Earth Band opened for them.
Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Rainbow were all intertwined. Several band members moved between these groups. The Bass Player and Drummer from Uriah Heep were also on Blizzard of Oz with Ozzy Osbourne...
Yeah! The classic Uriah Heep lineup, blasting out one of their biggest hits. I saw that lineup at their peak in Springfield MA in 1973, as they headlined an odd triple bill that really worked. They were fantastic and played everything off their great live album of that era plus did Stealing and a couple tunes that ended up on their next album. They deserved to be headliners. 2nd on the bill was Earth, Wind and Fire, they brought their own style and got respect from the rock fans by both their vocals and backing, their band really got flowing and we enjoyed their set. An even bigger surprise was the the opener, ZZ Top, making their first tour into interior New England, and having just released Tres Hombres. They blasted out what would become Ikonic songs from that album and earlier, killer tunes from their first 2 albums, we had not heard heavy blues quite like what they hit us with, we got them to encore after a generous opening set. That show was $5.50 for 3 bands that would all headline in their great careers. Those were the days guys, the 70s vibe was like no other. Next, from Uriah Heep, do July Morning and be amazed. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
I agree! I have a hard time picking a greatest track on this album, but I think July Morning might be it. But the best might also be The Wizard. Gotta play them both! I think I wore this 8-track cassette out.
there are some groups and albums, even singles where you had to be there, was so much music on so many levels, things they were a changing! But Uriah Heep has a special place in my heart...we made house speakers from carboard boxes and 6x9's...lol...my cousin actually has a grandson son named Uriah!
Bass is going off on this song! Always loved it as it cranks from the first note and the lyrics are speaking of how forgiveness sets you "easy."...at least my take on it.
Being born in '56 was like winning the rock and roll lottery. These guys came through Madtown on a regular basis. Three bucks for floor seats. Always a great show. You ain't heard nuthin yet!
Another great band from the 70’s. The album cover is from the same artist for several YES albums, Dean Rogers. U need to check out “Paradise” on this album. Great reaction.
Look very closely at the upper left of the album cover. Check out the cave and stone in the center of the water.😁. We had some of the best music to be created in the late 60s through the 70s. Very talented and diverse musicians.
This was the song they played during the speed skate at the local roller rink when I was 15...lol. This album is fantastic from beginning to end, my favorite from them by far. Give The Wizard and Rainbow Demon a listen.
A real thumper or that`s what the floor did when you cranked up the V`Z... O`h brother did the neighbors just love you, love to call the you know who on you, lol... Uriah Heep were the classic rockin out band on record and live.. and they had the big stadium, festival arena shows keep on rocking & giddyup Airplay
Saw Wetton with King Crimson's in 75, freaking killer concert, and also on the bill were Golden Earring and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, with Jean Luc Ponty on violin, dueling John McLaughlin, shredding on double neck guitar. All for $5.50. Those were the days.
Check out Uriah Heep Live album from 1973. That album was very big back then. Also, check out "The Wizard" and "Paradise/The Spell" from this Demons and Wizards album; both great tunes IMHO.
These guys kind of ran parallel to Deep Purple - like the “unholy trinity “ right there at the beginning of heavy rock and proto-metal, heavy organ, decades long career of breakups and reformations with lineup changes…. Important band with a huge rabbit hole of a catalogue.
Euro and N. American venues can be "gas stops." A place to fuel up, and do a show while you're in town. SA is a destination, and performances there seem to shine as a result.
I don’t think UH gets enough credit as a great band but I see that they may be an acquired taste for some. I love them and the older I get the more I love their catalog and they continue to produce solid music. A bit of metal, a bit of blues, a bit of that Deep Purple organ and a bit of PROG. One of the things I love about them like Blue Oyster Cult, they’re hard to pin down or label. They have their own things and they keep you guessing!
If there's a shorter-duration hard rock song that was on the FM AOR stations in the rock heyday, I can't think of it. It sure packs a lot into a little time.
If you want to go for a perfect album reaction, do their Magician's Birthday (or this one)! Easy Livin' is an obvious choice, there are much deeper tracks like Gypsy, Salisbury, July Morning, Stealin', Pilgrim, Return to Fantasy or the title track of beforementioned album. They are still doing strong (especially live) - their last three albums are among their best!
If you liked the bass on the studio version, check out the bass on this live version. czcams.com/video/Z1Ib5F7xC_U/video.html RIP Gary Thain, my favorite rock bass player.
Yet another GREAT British band from the 70's.
Love that organ in this song ❤
Saw em a couple times in the 70s. Great band to trip to. If you haven't done "Stealin" ya need to. Anything from Demons and Wizards.
I was stealin' when I shoulda been buyin'.... great track!
Yes!
I went to see them twice and they didn't show up either time. Very disappointing.
@@Straydogger saw em twice at the Tech Coliseum in Atlanta. Black Oak Arkansas opened for em the second time. Think it was ranked one of the loudest concerts ever at the time.
These were played by High School bands in my day..Love their live Album

Having older siblings is a benefit, I was gifted this on my 12th birthday from brother#1 and Jimi Hendrix from brother 2.
and parents and grand parents oh yeah you bet chya

Another great song from the 70’s again!
Saw these guys twice back in the day. Great instrumentalists Gary Thain on bass. Mick Box on guitar 🎸
Gary Thain doesn't come up in enough conversations.
Ken Hensley on rocking organ and Lee Kerslake on underrated drums, what a band!
All hail the Hammond B-3. Heep, Purple, Santana, Allmans, The Band ... they hit you in the chest with it.
Yeah great stuff, Steve Winwood was another who knew his way around the B-3. When music was real.
Yet another Great reminder of my childhood , San Antonio, Texas 🌞
The Demons and Wizards album was heavy in my rotation for awhile. Saw them a couple of times in the 70's. Once with Blue Oyster Cult. Great pairing. It was a fun night.
Gotta love Heep. Unique sound and, although they may sound dated now, they were loud and proud. Some of the vocals got crazy! Thanks guys. 👍
Uriah, one of my favs
Absolutely!!!!
You guys should have 200,000 subscribers--keep it up.
"Stealin" is my ❤
Played this everyday before school .
I'm so happy you guys have discovering this band they've got a lot of great songs if you guys want to hear one of the most incredible rock slide guitar songs TRY TEARS IN EYES thanks for all the great reviews love listening to you guys everyday❤

The Wizard are a must listen.
Wow you guys are digging way back with this song! I'm impressed 😻
“Stealin’” is another really cool tune.
Hey guys I second the nomination for Stealin' and also anything from The Magicians Birthday album keep on jammin' guys great channel lovin' it !!!
Being born in '56 was like winning the rock and roll lottery. These guys came through Madtown on a regular basis. Three bucks for floor seats. Always a great show. You ain't heard nuthin yet!
I was in 1954 so remember The Beatles on Ed Sullivan in 1964, the damn burst that night on a torrent of great music over the next couple decades plus.
Great song! Demons and Wizards is an excellent album. Had the pleasure of seeing them. Excellent reaction fellas 👌
The great Roger Dean on the album cover artwork.
It never lets up 🤘🤘🔥🔥👍
Another great band from the 70’s. The album cover is from the same artist for several YES albums, Dean Rogers. U need to check out “Paradise” on this album. Great reaction.
Sweet Lorraine by Uriah Heep is well worth a listen as well.
Look very closely at the upper left of the album cover. Check out the cave and stone in the center of the water.😁. We had some of the best music to be created in the late 60s through the 70s. Very talented and diverse musicians.
I have loved this song since the FIRST TIME I HEARD IT (about 8 years old)....just a COOL SOUNDIN' SONG!! SO GOOD and SO UPBEAT!!!
Great band
Glad you guys are hitting them
Gary Thain killing the Bass! That B3 cranking through Marshall stacks!
Great album. You guys rock!
Banger time!
People should check out their awesome tune "Lady In Black."
I think the way they layered in the higher pitched harmony vocals were an influence on bands like Queen and Styx...This was a banger and a half...
Love it since it came out!
This was the song they played during the speed skate at the local roller rink when I was 15...lol. This album is fantastic from beginning to end, my favorite from them by far. Give The Wizard and Rainbow Demon a listen.
I saw them live at a local bar it was great.
Having Been waiting for you to get to Uriah Heep
Smooth Brothers. I forgot about this song. Been years. ✅
Love the Heep! Saw them open for Rush in ‘78
You have just heard the greatest bass player in the history of the universe .. The great Gary Thain
Saw them on Don Kirschner's back in the day. Guitarist was playing in a wrist/forearm cast, like a badass!
I believe their most famous line up was , David Byron singer, Ken Hensley keyboard, Mick Box guitar, Lee Kerslake drums and Gary Thain bass.
Great album, listen to it all!
Gary Thain , the bass player was amazing but died very young . John Wetton off King Crimson Fame tok over. Great one too
Saw Wetton with King Crimson's in 75, freaking killer concert, and also on the bill were Golden Earring and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, with Jean Luc Ponty on violin, dueling John McLaughlin, shredding on double neck guitar. All for $5.50. Those were the days.
"July Morning" from the Look at Yourself lp for sure has to be reacted to.
Check out Uriah Heep Live album from 1973. That album was very big back then. Also, check out "The Wizard" and "Paradise/The Spell" from this Demons and Wizards album; both great tunes IMHO.
Mr. Gary Thain great bassist
Gary Thain on bass. One of the most overlooked bass players.
These guys were Great!
I had 2 albums, The Magicians Birthday ? and Demons and Wizards. Great album artwork.
Ohhh love you guys
This is my jam Bros... Far out man. 😎
I hope you do this whole album...well worth it
Early British metal '72
Demons and Wizards is excellent.
These guys kind of ran parallel to Deep Purple - like the “unholy trinity “ right there at the beginning of heavy rock and proto-metal, heavy organ, decades long career of breakups and reformations with lineup changes…. Important band with a huge rabbit hole of a catalogue.
This band jams hard. I need to listen to them more.
Saw them in 1995 in Pretoria, South Africa
Euro and N. American venues can be "gas stops." A place to fuel up, and do a show while you're in town. SA is a destination, and performances there seem to shine as a result.
I was gifted this 8 track when it was first released. far out thanks men😎 Still sounded pretty fine
Try listening to “Stealing when I should’ve been buying” by Uriah Heep
Thanks!
Greatest Acid Rock band of all time!!!
I don’t think UH gets enough credit as a great band but I see that they may be an acquired taste for some. Hard not tap a foot on this one. Underrated song and band.
Check out Paradise/The Spell!
Classic
Their greatest album by far.
If there's a shorter-duration hard rock song that was on the FM AOR stations in the rock heyday, I can't think of it. It sure packs a lot into a little time.
You can easily put take this as a very spiritual song. Easy Livin' and I've been forgiven, since you've taken your place in my heart.
Bad Company - Live for the Music
W.A.S.P does a really good cover of this song.
If you want to go for a perfect album reaction, do their Magician's Birthday (or this one)! Not Knocking them but they sound like Deep Purple.
Magicians Birthday album worth a listen.
Look at the cover of the album at the top of the mountain and what do you see.
Laa and Chee? Are you ready? Yep! Easy brother!
A band that was put together for just one album was GREEN BULLFROG, had some big names in band, try listening to the song Bullfrog….

For years thought this was Deep Purple.lol
Check out WHY. It was left off this album for being too long. Fantastic tune.
Y'all should listen to "Stealing " by these guys. It's a totally different vibe.
You gotta hear Stealin .As former Infantryman some of the lyrics apply to me 98 percent
Please try to react to Salisbury if you can. I think you'll appreciate the musicianship. Love your work.
If you liked the bass on the studio version, check out the bass on this live version. czcams.com/video/Z1Ib5F7xC_U/video.html RIP Gary Thain, my favorite rock bass player.
